Glad to see your a King James man too :)
It doesn't bother me that others in the forum use different versions/ paraphrases.
However, God's Word tells us in numerous places that He will preserve His Word forever, Psalm 12:6,7.
He wasn't talking about the "original autographs" as many claim to refer back to.
They have turned to dust with age. However, it must still exist in some copy. Since the Bible versions are different so as not to violate copyright infringement law and to make the publishers money ( Revelation 22 ending); I had to decide which Bible is the correct one?
After studying the subject, I am convinced that we haven't been without one for 400 years. The N.T. is based upon over 500 copies and portions. I'm posting a video just for you, unless someone else is interested too. I have more advanced teaching available upon request.
Quality can be set up to 1080p or lower if your computer buffers. Enjoy it and pass it along my Canadian friend.

You have every right to have a gun to hunt, protect your family and target shoot. In the Bible there are many instances where the children of God rose up to fight against their enemies and the Lord was with them. There is nothing evil about owning a weapon for good but there are those that use weapons for evil purposes. You must protect yourself from those that wish to do you harm. Keep in mind that if you own a gun, you should keep it in a safe place so others can't access it and cause harm to themselves or others.

Mathew 26:52...unfortunately humans cannot be trusted with such power they kill their neighbors with them. If we would all play nice, love others, and thy not kill, we could probably be trusted. However, 2 Timothy 3:1-5 clearly states the personality of humans at this time. Do you think the people listed in that scripture should have guns, LOLLLLL! After reading that scripture do you think we would be better off without them or with them. Easy answer.

Ah Rizen, did we not see Luke 22:36-38?? Humm??? LOL Hence why Peter had a sword to start with. I understand how many feels about weapons, I just put it this way myself. It is better to have a gun and not need it, then to need one and not have it!

Given the messy state described in the end times. It would be unwise to not have them.

Jesus clealy told his diciples to take a sword for protection. I sure you heard that before.

For your consideration, I use Tranqulizer guns to knock out intrurders. I do not have to kill someone attacking my family just put them to sleep for the Police.

This thread was about the right to own guns. That's a social issue, not a moral one.
If it is legal to own firearms in a particular locale, it is legal for all. Why would being a Christian or not be an issue?
It became an issue when the morality of gun ownership was raised. Since the Bible doesn't speak directly to the issue, it becomes a matter of conscience.
Eat...don't eat...but both to the glory of God. That's the Christian standard.
It's always good to remind brothers and sisters who have fallen into sin the way out. But it is never good to bind men's conscience with the laws of men.

Short answer is in America anyone has the right to bear arms as long as you fill out the paperwork and are of sound mind and old enough.

I personally don't own a gun nor do I see a need for one. My ex-husband was a police officer so there was a point in my life that there were guns in the house when I was married to him but I didn't really want to have anything to do with them, we were both Christians.

I'm female so guns have never really been of interest to me if I was a guy maybe I'd feel different. From a protection point of view I believe that God has done a great job in doing that for me and will continue to do so.

Judging by your answer

Are those available in reliable semiautos now?
The one I designed and gave to Cupid is.
I keep several loaded. At top of my stairs I installed the type of light used on Hockey, Baseball and Football night games. It is blinding.

Sorry about that first part. I started to respond to someone else on another day. I forgot to proofread before posting and the cookies or whatever saves unposted old responses was attached.
By the time I edited correctly, you got my unintentional message. Anyhow, that system sounds great. I've used lights for self defense before and they worked great in my situations. No force was needed when they were temporarily blinded. Mine was just a handheld. Yours sounds like a lot more than that ounce of prevention.

The story behind some of my extremes. In the 1960's a man murdered my Uncle Joe. I testified that the two of them were together in a pick up the night he was murdered. In Court after being found guilty, he said, that he will break out and come murder family members who also testified against him. He came after me first, not knowing of my Military Training. It took me less then a few mintues to kill him bare handed.

Praise the Lord He spared your life through providing you such a skill set!
"The arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the LORD upholdeth the righteous."

It's never a good thing for evil scum to take innocent life like that murderer did to your uncle. Thank God you put a stop to any further crimes and were able to save the other family members' lives.

For many years I have encouraged men, women and children to get training. There's more chance that unarmed combat will be necessary than firearms. I'm not against any proper moral use of weapons. However, sometimes all you have is what you've got. At contact distances, where these things usually happen, you have hands, feet, elbows and knees as blunt trauma weapons to start with.

Did you happen to write a book on the event?

It's worthy of a book.
