Can you provide the verse that says we are given faith in salvation?
The believer can do nothing apart from Jesus...John 15:5.
I didn't ask that.

That includes and begins with salvation. Also, Philippians 3:9...found in Him...which is through the faith of Christ...
Again, can you provide the verse that says we are given faith in salvation? That is the question.

Did you believe apart from Christ?
Is being in Him salvation?
Do you understand my question?

To your first question, I believed IN the work of Christ. Your wording seems odd and unbiblical.

To your second question, no. Being "in Him" is eternal security. That's what comes WITH salvation.

Now, are you able to provide a verse that says we are given faith in salvation?

All you've done is talk around it.

No, it isn't, according to the Bible. In fact work is contrasted to faith or believing. Rom 4:4,5
So God said I was innocent, but I didn't work any.I think I may understand or I may be confused.

But thanks for the reminder.

Eph2:8-9 are the verses. You don't believe that the faith there is supplied. I attempted to share verses that suggest that it is. I obviously haven't convinced you. I do hope God continues to lead you in all truth.

Rom 12:3 For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

God gives the increase, but He doesn’t give the initial faith.

God gives the increase, but He doesn’t give the initial faith.
New International Version
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

New Living Translation
Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.

English Standard Version
For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

Berean Literal Bible
For through the grace having been given to me, I say to everyone being among you, not to be high-minded above what it behooves you to think, but to think so as to be sober-minded, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

King James Bible
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

New King James Version
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

Your disagreement is not with me.

Let me know when you find the scripture that says faith is the substance of belief.
You didn't listen the first time I provided the verse, why should you think you are entitled to spending my time so wastefully?

They are not. The verses do NOT say faith is given in salvation. It DOES say we are saved by grace, through faith. The "faith" is our response to the gospel.

You don't believe that the faith there is supplied.
I know it isn't.

I attempted to share verses that suggest that it is.
If you don't have clear verses that SAY what you claim, you have no evidence. What you think verses may "suggest" isn't evidence.

I obviously haven't convinced you.
Right. I need to see verses that SAY what people CLAIM. Just as the Bereans did with Paul's teaching. Acts 17:11

I do hope God continues to lead you in all truth.
He is doing that!

This is not "saving faith" but rather "lifestyle faith", which is the faith for daily life. Trusting fully in God to provide for your needs, etc.

This is what you said:

"So God said I was innocent, but I didn't work any.I think I may understand or I may be confused."

Maybe I'm just slow, but "it means WHAT literally"? Still confused.

I wish you'd stop butchering the quote system. Though I know you probably won't. :censored:

Faith comes by hearing. That implies it comes from outside of you. Matthew 13 is very instructive here. Jesus explaining why He spoke in parables explains that to some it has been given to hear and understand and see and perceive. He goes on to explain if this was given to the others they would understand in their heart and be converted and be healed.
That hearing and seeing that leads to conversion is faith. Absent this faith none believe.
