I'm kinda shocked that you're saying obligatory forgiveness is immoral when so many times in the Bible we're told to do so. Our sins put Jesus on the cross. We essentially killed him, yet He has forgiven us. Shouldn't we do the same for others, no matter how they wrong us?
this is an impossible argument (for lack of a better word) to make

please read the OT, then the new and reflect on the differences

has God changed from testament to testament?

if not, then what has changed? the blood of Christ shed on our behalf for the forgiveness of our sin

then ask, is the world operating under that forgiveness?

the outrage is over the fact some folks want to just say 'oh well at least he (Alex baby) is right most of the time' so what happened, while not ok, is actually ok

frankly, there is no forgiveness for Alex no matter how much we forgive. same goes for every other person in the world who does not receive the forgiveness of God through Christ

we also cannot forgive the insanity of Alex's words on the behalf of the parents whose children were murdered

I maintain the amount of money he is ordered to pay is over the top.

I think forgiveness is more a choice than a feeling, as Corrie Ten Boom related when speaking of meeting the German guard that had imprisoned her during WW2:
Corrie was personally dealing with the guard. She had the option to forgive. Some of us have also forgiven outrages done against us and understand the sacrifice.

I find it ludicrous to think we just forgive and what? wait for judgement day?

sheesh

I have never taken revenge and I could have, so I am not just blowing smoke here. People need to stop confusing God's forgiveness with the world's systems. Like I said, read the OT and reflect on what God has to say about injustice, murder, false witness and so on

.

To test if This concept of forgiving is genuine, ask a Christian to forgive Joe Biden or some extreme leftist for example and see how forgiving they are.
you cannot make that remark with any way of proving what you say

Actually, while I am outraged at what the left is doing, I have prayed for Biden and I do not hate him. I believe he is being used and the actual perpetrators do not have a clue of the sins they are committing.

Actually, we forgive because we have been forgiven and when you do forgive, I find you receive further clarity on why you should

I also do not know why people have to throw everything but the kitchen sink into the mix here.

But how about you? Do you forgive Biden? (he doesn't even know what he is doing).]

I tell you what. Do you believe in eternal punishment? Would you really want to see Biden screaming in agony? forgive and pray for people

Does not mean they are not on God's radar

I think there's a few reasons why the jury awarded so much money to the victims. First the fact that Jones showed zero remorse for what he did. Juries don't like non remorseful dependents.
Also they want to make sure he never does this again and to set an example for other would-be shock jocks who have in mind to do the same thing

Look I’d rather not get into this discussion in a conspiracy forum but the problem is that most people in America confuse the word of God with the Republican Party. Then they veer off into insane conspiracy theories which affect the lives of others for the worse.
So, I’ll leave it at that.

And the problem is these cuckoos are giving Christianity a bad name. There are plenty of Christians who are reasonable people and don't believe bat poop crazy conspiracy theories but this is definitely counterproductive to the cause of Christianity

he only apologized about 100 times.

but, you are finally getting on the right track- this is about making media people afraid of speaking out against the " official narrative ".

there were enough anomalies to make people question the official story of sandy hook. ( yes, kids died, it was terrible").

i will grant you this- anyone who said " no kids died " should have to pay some damages to the parents,

but not millions of dollars.

Yeah we've already been over there since about 52 billion times but apologizing doesn't absolve you of accountability.
There's a clear and concise difference between questioning the events and saying that the parents lied about the deaths of their children. What do you think is going to happen when you keep pushing a narrative that school shootings are faked in order to take everyone's guns away.
We saw exactly what happened. It incited a cult of Looney's too threaten and harass these families
Propaganda comes with a price like when someone shot up a pizzeria because they were allegedly smuggling kids through a non-existent basement
Or how 2,000 years of Catholic propaganda against the Jews and cited the Holocaust

Apparently 1 billion dollars isn't enough.
Now the families want trillions.
At some point restitution becomes a bit excessive and these families are starting to make themselves look like they only care about the money.

As an aside, I do believe Jones should have to pay something. Responsibility for one's actions/words and all that. But this is now just becoming ridiculous.

We might consider if slander and defamation we're not free speech and always able to be prosecuted, politicians would be out of business.

As would fake news networks.

I don't have any sympathy for him.
I hope they see him down to his last pair of underwear for what he did to these families

Alex Jones did nothing to the families.

Free speech sometimes means being able to demonstrate one's self as a bloviating dunderhead.

As he did claiming Sandy Hook was a hoax and the parents crisis actors.

Those who actually brought harm to the families are u prosecuted in this effort.

Supposed vandalism,death threats, etc....
Where are those arrests? Lawsuits?

Alex Jones demonstrated himself a blowhard. He is not responsible for violent people supposedly acting out against the families having believed what Jones said.

Sounds like commie Russia back in the good ol' days: everyone spying on
and ratting each other out, hoping it's not you who ends up in the gulag.

I remember a former member here trying to convince me that "no kids died."

I just couldn't buy it...

You know that old saying
(Exploitive) around and find out?
Well it turns out, the level at which you (expletive) around, is directly proportionate to the level you find out
I hope this lesson has been helpful to you Alan Jones fans. He brought this on himself. No sympathy

He used his platform to slander and defame grieving families and profited while doing so. Restitutions are owed.
But you have more empathy for the perpetrator than the victims

He profits no matter what. That's how he makes a living. Ad revenue.

He's the big fish. $
The perpetrators of the supposed actual illegal acts against the families don't have near as much money.

You've taken over a thread someone else started.

Maybe you should realize the lengths you've gone too to attack a man for his words using offensive words in your own right in the process.

I am no fan of AJ. I think he's a government tool to supplant reason and rational thought as pertains to the social economic environment in America.

Those who believe him will discount actual conspiracies coming to the fore. While those who don't believe him are better off.

He once featured a lengthy series interview with a fraud who claimed to be a hit man for the Clinton's.

People bought it. An interview outside of a federal prison no less and many never realized the lie.

That being said, he's still alive. So too is his lying guest I suspect.

The Clintons didn't sue. And he as much implied they were mass murderers.

AJ is a knucklehead. Just as he could have committed to a wee bit of research to find Sandy Hook really happened, so too could his listeners.

The parents,if they want justice, could have sought warrants for the arrest of those who committed actual crimes against them.

I feel for the victims. All Christians would.

I don't think being a knucklehead with a platform should cost Jones every dime he has.

And when you do, that's not what free speech is all about.

He said stupid things.
Those who took it to an physical and vandalism level against these parents should be on trial. Not Jones.

Fair play says if AJ can be prosecuted for false statements, so too can anyone in media.

This whole thing sets a dangerous precedent.

Yeah we've been over this. You don't have a constitutional right to slander and defame people
There laws against defamation and you will be held accountable.
By 2070 Christianity is projected to be the minority in america. There's a reason for this. America has had enough of the hypocrisy from the religious right. Pretending to have the Monopoly on morality while propping up immoral thugs like Alex Jones.. this man is a waste of oxygen and should swing from the courthouse lawn for what he did to these people

it is setting a precedent. Did you hear Kanye West is being sued by George Floyd's wife for 250 million dollars because he said Floyd died of a fentanyl overdose? It's also interesting that he GAVE her 2 million dollars after Floyd died, for her daughter's education and they were oh-so-happy for all that moola. But immediately after Jones was dinged a billion dollars, the wife decided to go after Kanye. I'm not a Kanye fan at all but he spoke the truth and, odds are, is going to have to pay big bucks for his comment. Right now they're going after the rich but now that the precedent is set, they'll be coming after anyone who says anything that might hurt "feelings". Well, as long as it's a conservative. Liberals somehow escape that scam.
