Salvation did cost something, the cross. It cost our savior quote a bit

If you however want to try to pay for your salvation. Well then. good luck. Because you can not have the cross plus your payment, you can only have on or the other.
You have made your opinion well known and repeated it over and over. The time for debate is over, this now goes to the Judge to hear what He has to say.

Not for salvation. Believers are commanded to do good works. To glorify God and please Him.
You believe in good works. I believe in good works. Why am I doing good works to earn salvation but you aren't? If doing good works alone is the standard whereby you evaluate, then you're attempting to earn salvation as well. There's a flaw in your logic.

Jesus is talking to His followers, they are saved the good works to be done are to glorify our Father

Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

The Word again is speaking to the saved
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Scripture is speaking to/about men of God.
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

who is the 'us'
Tit_2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

we really should be nicer to each other
Heb_10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Again to glorify God
1Pe_2:12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Good works, do not read to me as they are for Salvation but, because of Salvation

Don't you believe in doing good works?
Where do you get that I do not believe in doing works?

I do works BECAUSE I am saved. I Love (you can not produce true works apart from love) Because I am saved (God first loved me) not in order to get saved.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Why would anyone disparage good works unless they love the darkness.

he has judged. And you are dead wrong.. And I fear greatly will be defeated on judgment day, Unless you repent of your dead works, and get on your knees with a bankrupt spirit and like the tax collector call out for Gods mercy.

Because I see no sign from you that you have ever done this..

A work of faith causes unbelievers to repent or be judged

Matthew 11:20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:

Where does this man have this wisdom and mighty works?

Matthew 13:54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?

I must work the works of Him that sent me

John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

the jews believed in good works. The apostles believes in good works. Paul said one of them were wrong. and taught a different gospel.

What was the difference between them?

There is a big difference between works of faith and works of your own hands

Acts 7:41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.

Genuine believers will have a testimony of being full of good works

Acts 9:36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

All believers should do works meet for repentance

Acts 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

The apostles do not condemn works, they condemn boasting about works

Romans 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

wisdom of this world

  • 1 Corinthians 3:18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.
    and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”;
