He said the following:

We all come to Him as we are, but we don't stay the way we are.”

You disapproved of what he said and he questioned why because what he shared is based on Scripture. Good for him.
Then he should have said that rather than what he did say..
He is a false accuser and you are not only a defender of that but also a gaslighter. We have no further conversation. Thank you. We are disfellowshipped.

LOL Maybe. I'm sure that would help.
You could get along and be all buddies and have no conflict and be all amicable.
You might even learn to smile like Joel Osteen and repeat the mantras, like , " Jesus said dont judge".

Oh, I see. He is such a great guy he took up defense for an obvious fraud and false teacher, (the subject of this thread)
And accused me of disliking scripture.
And you take up defense of that behavior.
Well.... there ya have it.

I don't know how much stock I would put in positive reactions. I seem to recall Paul taking a lot of stonings and beatings. Maybe he should've tried more for those positive reactions.
I got a little red 'x' the other day. Does that stand for a kiss or a hug?:unsure:

Jn 13:34 'A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also must love one another. 35By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another'. Where is the love, and calling a brother(?) names.....

yeah he has the gift of encouragement but not really a teacher of doctrine

But to his credit anytime anyone has asked him he says “ I’m not teacher of doctrine I’m an encourager “

Telling a person that they had done a thing that they did do is not calling names. The love is in telling them their error, and giving a chance to repent, and in disfellowshiping those who do not.

1 Corinthians 3:12-15
12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,
13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.
14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward.
15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
Yes, but what about the watchman who is given a pulpit but neglects to warn the people?

Ezekiel 33:6
“But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.”

I think there is an important balance to be had. When we come to Christ, we must deny ourselves, take up our Cross, renounce the world, live to glorify Him etc. However, because God is so good, He does bless us in various ways, including financially and in health imo. See below.

Consider 3 John 1:2: "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." And so, provided our soul prospers, it does seem right to say God desires us to prosper in health and finances etc also.

I would distinguish "the Gospel of Prosperity" which I believe can be Biblically defended, from "The Gospel of Greed" which obviously cannot. God doesn't want us to be selfish or only focused on our own needs. However, He has promised to richly supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. He does this so that, assured of our Father's Love for us, and that He will take care of all we need, we are free to praise Him with our whole heart and take care of other's needs.

Edit: Phil 4: "19And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. 20To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen."

Blessings.

1 John 4 states, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world." We should ask God to show us who truly is a man or woman of God, before we start following their teaching/preaching, and believing what they say and do. This includes anyone who is an evangelist, preacher, teacher, or friend for that matter. Satan will use anyone and anything he can in order to get us to fall away from our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We need to be careful with this, and always pray on these things first, so we are not led down Satan's rabbit hole.
Amen sister! What a great addition to the family here at CC! :D

See the Victoria Osteen clip in this video starting at 00:40. They're not even pretending anymore.

It doesn’t seem like it would be love if it’s being done for one’s self to me

How about considering this

“And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. ( those two were about doing things for thier self )

But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:30-37‬ ‭KJV‬‬

air seems as though the Samaritan did what he did because he had love in his heart for the fallen and destitute man and really if he would have been thinking of himself he would have just kept on his journey and passed on by him as the others did

a pretty positive we do what we do for others in Jesus name not ourself

“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:13‬

I doubt if Jesus would disfellowship someone on the grounds you are. Then should we 'disfellowship' with everyone here who has a different view? That sounds like the enemy's plan.
