many denominations are simply cults. It’s quite evident. I’ll just stick with what the Bible says, vetting snd scrutinizing it like the Bereans.
This is True!

And Denominational Cults like JWs, MORMONS, SDA are led by the Demons of Hell. Their god is Satan!

yeah once saved always saved is a tricky concept and no Matter what verse you wuote won’t convince anyone to believe it applies try this one

“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6:4-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Clearly it’s possible to receive the Holy Spirit and it’s power and fall away and be lost but it doesn’t make a dent because they respond with other verses so this one no longer applies somehow 🙂
What fakery you present to be the gospel, when people hold themselves to God!

Those who were also fakes were known to depart, because Jesus never knew them: They never once came to the realization that they needed saving, so never asked.

Your entire view of the gospel is wrong.

Yeah it’s a good point. The Catholics made Sunday the day of worship when no where in the Bible is such a command authorized. There’s a lot of things Protestants have in common with Roman Catholicism, but there are a lot of differences too.

I think all pretty much all of the churches are actually a cult at this point, it’s just more obvious of some than it is of others.

So do you think Jesus would praise any church now? If so, which one?

I don't believe any one single follower of God nor organized Denomination has it all 100% correct.

I actually believe individual human beings who live their lives doing their best to obey and follow God are closer to the truth than the majority of Denominations.

But even they don't have it all figured out.

But anyone who obeys the words of Christ and believes He is the only way to the Father will be Saved. And that's all that matters. Doctrine, beliefs, interpretation don't mean anything. Obeying Christ is all that matters.

But Jesus is God!
If He is Lord, in Hebrew, the Lord is God.

Of course our salvation depends on our works. If you say otherwise, you're picking what scriptures you want to believe and ignoring the rest. Salvation by faith alone is a different gospel, a demonic one.

"But someone will say, 'You have faith and I have deeds.' Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. You believe that God is one. Good for you! Even the demons believe that—and shudder."—James 2:18-19

"And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done."—Revelation 20:12
All the DESERVERS find a minefield in scripture. The saved, on the other hand, find references to the new man---the reborn believer.

All the things that are right and just to do are the only things that give reward to the new creation. It is nothing of himself, but of God who lives in him. Therefore, evidence of faith is in works that the reborn feel like doing. No one saves themselves like these heretics try to smear scripture into saying.

Who is the "someone" James writes will say such things?

It's not James. It's not God.

So, who is it that says "show me your faith, I have deeds, even demons believe"

?

Let's say I'm not saved, not reborn as you have claimed. What scriptures would you show me to explain this "new man?" Help me understand what it is exactly to be "reborn."

This saying in John 3:14-18 is taken from Numbers 21:5-9. Israel (God's people) spak against God, and against Moses, and because of the disobedience of Israel, God sent poison snakes from the sky that would bite, and kill them. God instructed Moses to make a brass snake upon a pole, that when the people of Israel got bit, if they would look upon the poll they would be healed.

The brass serpent wrapped around a pole, is the emblem use by doctors and health care people to refer to healing.
The emblem used by the doctors and health care people has absolutely nothing to do with Christ, John 3:14-18, or Numbers 21:5-9.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/ar...he caduceus is the,of Asclepius in their logo.

The caduceus or the staff of Hermes, depicted as a stick entwined by two snakes and surmounted wings is the symbol of modern medicine in India and elsewhere. Most major hospitals, medical colleges, clinics, professional bodies, prescriptions and medical journals support this symbol either as an emblem or as part of their logo. The car windshields of many doctors feature this symbol prominently as a badge of prestige and honor. But unfortunately, the very emblem we flaunt as an insignia of our profession is a false symbol and has nothing or very little to do with the noble art of healing. The true and authentic symbol of Medicine is not the Caduceus but the Rod of Asclepius [1]. The Rod of Asclepius is a single serpent entwined rod wielded by the Greek God of healing and Medicine, Asclepius [2]. In Greek mythology Asclepius is the son of Apollo- the god of light, the Sun, truth and also a god of healing. Asclepius’s daughters are Hygieia, the goddess of hygiene and cleanliness and Panacea the goddesses of remedies. The Hippocratic Oath which all physicians have taken for centuries is dedicated to the same four deities, namely Apollo, Asclepius, Hygieia and Panacea. In contrast Hermes, also a Greek God and his counterpart in Roman mythology, Mercury are patron Gods of commerce, trade, merchants and a protector of tricksters and thieves. More importantly Hermes is a God of transitions and boundaries, and moves freely between the worlds of the mortal and divine and guides departed souls to the underworld. In 1902 a Captain in the US Army medical corps mistook the caduceus for the Rod of Asclepius and proposed the adoption of the caduceus as the corps official symbol. Several years later, a librarian in the Surgeon General’s office noticed the erroneous assumption and alerted his superiors, but since the symbol had been by then in use for several years it was allowed to remain. Unfortunately, others allied to medical services in the U.S. and soon the world adopted the same symbol [36]. The staff of Hermes embodies cunning machinations and death, hardly the connotations an emblem of healing should evoke.

Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

Sealed you with the holy spirit of promise

So instead of starting threads like this you could give all glory to God through Jesus and put full trust in the father to finish what he has begun

If Jesus is in your heart how can you think God would reject you

No. I’m not a mod, and never claimed to be.

There is a myriad of issues that good Christians can debate and disagree on. Like what this thread is about.

Runningman has a number of kooky theological ideas that I think he’s wrong on, that doesn’t rise to the level of whether or not Jesus is God.

Why would I even ask him if he didn’t intimate that Jesus is NOT God?

Go back, to my earlier post today where I link just one of threads where he does it.

It’s too serious a matter to play these games.

Jesus being God is not only a tenet that is mandatory for this site, but more importantly, is a vital component to THE Gospel unto Salvation.

So there’s only a couple reasons why he wouldn’t just answer the question. And BTW, notice his continual non answer answer. “ I believe what the Bible says”, all the while twisting what the Bible says.

He can just shut us up once and for all by answering yes or no to Jesus being God.

Or he keeps the ball rolling because he eats the attention like candy. Or he knows if he answers truthfully, he’ll be banned.

But I expect him to continue the “woe is me, everyone attacks me” diversion, rather than just answering.
I don't want to have to read several more pages on this thread, so I'm wondering if he ever answered this question directly.

Personally, I have a major problem with anybody who refuses to give a simple "yes" or "no" answer to the question that you asked.

As for me, YES, I definitely believe that Jesus is God. I also believe that he's a man since the time of his incarnation.

No. He has not.

It displays a lack of integrity and security in his position.

But of course all his rebuttals make his position clear.

I hear you on the lack of integrity part. As far as the lack of security goes, if he's not sure whether Jesus is God or not, then what's the shame in just openly admitting that? We're all unsure of a host of things, I would imagine. Anyway, evasiveness never paints a good picture. :(

I am thinking that it could be cause for being banned so one would try to work around openly admitting it, although @Runningman is already plainly defending his view.

What is his view that he's plainly defending?

Does he believe that Jesus is God?

I'm not asking to get him banned or anything like that. Instead, if he doesn't presently believe that, then I'd like to hopefully convince him that Jesus is God from scripture.
