It's not. Go read the passage. It's not concerning salvation, but whose power Jesus does His works by.
lol..

so forgiveness is not about salvation??

they attributed the works to satan because they did not believe he was from God. so who else could it be from?

Unbelief is the root cause..and the unforgivable sin

he who believes, he who does not believe,, there is what separates a child of God and a non child of God..

I'll try.

On what basis does God send someone to hell? My answer is sin.
Another poster said it was only the sin of unbelief.
He also said all sin has been atoned for.

Unbelief is a sin. But Unbelief can be forgiven. Otherwise, no one could be saved as we were all once unbelievers.

So logically it follows that if all sin is paid for and sins are what merit hell, everyone in hell is there inspite of the fact that all their sins have been paid for.

Is that what you believe?
Did you read my post #5111?

You told me to ignore that verse because you cannot explain it. You are willing to assume it has no effect nor impact on the remaining verses. In effect, you are saying to ignore it. Anyway, we're just going circles, so I'm done.

No I didn't tell you to ignore it, I said you are ignoring it so you might as well take it out of your Bible. You do not believe what it says.

maybe this will help

there is a band of 100 people. who are ruled by a righteous person. In denial. all 100 people reject the ruler and decide they will be their own ruler. out of this comes a multitude of sin. and all of them, based on the law of the place are found guilty and sentenced to pay for their crimes

but the righteous ruler loves his 100 people. so he ends up paying for all of their crimes so they could be set free. But he also loves them enough to give them the change to reject his love and remain in their sin. in the end 50 people humble themselves and recieve the salvation the ruler offered them, while th eother 50 refused to repent and remained in their sin

in the end, the 50 people who rejected the ruler (unbelief) were condemned

the 50 who receved the rulers forgiveness because they learned and came to trust in him were not condemned

Who earned there just reward?

the ones who were saved because they believed

or the ones who were condemned because they rejected?
Your scenario doesn't take everything into account. Be that as it may, blessings.

people say God is diffrent in the OT, he stuck his whip. but look how much grace and patience he showed the people? even the flood was a last resort when there was no one left..
whats more is he gave warning after warning by Noah for many years I think it took him about 100 years to build the ark unless my memory is failing me.

it does take everything into account

1. everyone was a sinner
2. everyone was justly condemned
3. The ruler paid the debt for everyone
4. He would not force forgiveness on anyone, He offered it to them.
5. the ones who rejected him in unbelief were the ones condemned
6. The ones who received in in belief were not condemned

its like moses and the serpent

all the people who were bitten were dead. there was no cure.

The ones who BELIEVED and look up were saved

the ones who through unbelief refused to look up died.

The ones who looked up did not save themselves. God saved them.

the ones who died could have been saved, but they rejected to believe, and were condemned to death because of it

its not hard..

whats the deep underlying sin that caused them to do this?
What does it matter

No. The passage. But I can see further discussion will be fruitless so be blessed.

Did you read my post #5111?
I did. I reread it too. Just don't know why a simple yes wouldn't do.
I'm just surprised that people believe God condemns forgiven people.

I don't believe that. And I'm surprised people believe God would create a people just to be condemned.

I'm not going to regurgitate the whole conversation now and get into another back-and-forth with you.
Suffice it to say, that is NOT at all what I nor you said. I'll just leave it at that.

You know we can do this back and forth I see here but there is a more important issue with this topic. the number of people in hell in truth is on us. the world is lost and has been lost we have this amazing truth that brings life to all who would recieve it but where are the worker? Where are the sowers? every person we pass by who isn't saved and we could rescued them and they end up in hell is on our hands. That is the heavy truth of it for every person we don't rescue that is one more person that likely will add to hells population

Just so you know I'm not trying to beat you down
I don't feel you are trying to harm me in any way. I thought it has been a very civil conversation.
As far as saved people, I believe they are saved by grace through faith.
