Christians in every generation have seen events that seem to show that their generation is the last one. It is my understanding from seminary and preaching study that the phrase "the last days" actually refers to the time between his first and second comings. That's why we must continue to pray and work to bring about the final harvest of believers regardless of the final time of Jesus' return.

Hello Bruce. I believe we have seen events that previous generations did not see. The return of the Jews to Israel is one, according to the prophet Zechariah the Lord is returning to Jerusalem and there and then when his feet stand on the Mount of Olives the Jews will mourn for the one they had pierced. This could not have happened before 1948. Besides if you search history books you can find many references by believers looking forward to the return of the Jews to Israel happening before the return of the Lord. God Bless You :)

Apparently, lots of people do.

2 Peter 3:4 Context

1This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: 3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

The signs in the bible are coming true--An increasing of lawlessness, Matt 24:3-14-- the signs of these last days. I think when it says earthquakes it means disasters. The presence began in 1914( Rev 6:1)- that is when the preaching of the good news of Gods kingdom( Luke 10-Acts 20:20)started back up. The coming of Gods kingdom is getting close.

The signs are happening almost daily now.

Say, for instance, in the 80's or 90's or even as early as the 00's, the idea of the end times was known.... but didn't really feel like we were actually living in them or "there yet".

Today to a discerning follower of Jesus Christ and the Bible, and to one who is even slightly aware of eschatology, it is unmistakable and undeniable.

I don't know about anyone else, but I can feel the spirit of the end times all around. "Normies" are even starting to take notice. And I truly believe the Tribulation will begin within the next decade it's that close.
Pro 30:11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
Pro 30:12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
Pro 30:13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
Pro 30:14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

The last generation before God ends sin on Earth which the 1960's counter culture movement was a rebellion against authority, including parental authority.

And they will be highly selfish, and arrogant, and be against each other, which we see how the internet operates.

They will heap money to themselves to exalt themselves, and will not care about the poor and the needy, which we see that millions of dollars, and billions of dollars is not enough for them, as they heap and reap, and pile and compile, and rake and take, and stack and rack.

Which this can only happen at the time of technology for money is flowing more, and they can reach farther to make money.

Nah 2:3 The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.
Nah 2:4 The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.

This is speaking about vehicles but Nahum did not know to call them that but knew chariots was a form of transportation.

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1Ti 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1Ti 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

This is speaking about the new age movement that interprets the Bible according to the occult and evolution, and people are still evolving to be spiritual, and Jesus evolved to be an ascended master, and there is no personal God, and the New Age Christ is the final teacher.

They push homosexuality, transgender in society for population reduction, and try to confuse children about their gender, and invite them to gay pride events, and drag queen shows.

Which American Girl Doll Company has a book about making the transition to the opposite sex and if they are confused taking puberty blockers until they decide.

The be any gender you want, and any pronoun you want comes from the influence of the new age movement.

Which they believe when people evolve there is no male or female for they are spiritual, and there is no single approach to gender or sexuality.

They had a hand in the 1960's counter culture movement to get the people away from the 1950's attitude.

Now they are going to cause another counter culture movement to reflect the new age movement beliefs.

When the New Age Christ establishes peace in the Middle East he will be considered a great man of peace, and the biggest player on the world scene, and will push the agenda of the new age movement.

They have been working for peace in the Middle East for years but I believe the top leaders of Israel are not coming to terms with a peace treaty because they want the New Age Christ to negotiate peace in the Middle East because they are following the Kabbalah which is of the occult, mysticism, and then they will agree to a peace treaty.

The Bible makes it very clear we will not know the time and place. Some say we are living in the end times now and others say it will happen in the distant future (please Lord, no, come ASAP!).

Peace of mind for us--God is in control.

Right... and this is also what Hosea 5:14-6:3 shows...

Here's an old post of mine on that Subject (quoted below):

Post #26 (different thread) - https://christianchat.com/threads/looking-for-jesus.203611/post-4804943

[quoting]

Consider what I've posted in the past:

[quoting old post]

I've posted this before about the "days" (and/or "day") issues (the ones that are not "singular 24-hr days"):

Hosea 5:14-6:3 [re: Israel] -

14 For I am like a lion to Ephraim

and like a young lion to the house of Judah.

I, even I, will tear them to pieces

and then go away.

I will carry them off

where no one can rescue them.

15 Then I will return to My place

until they admit their guilt and seek My face;

in their affliction

they will earnestly [or, early] seek Me.”

6:1 Come, let us [Israel] return to the LORD.

For He has torn us [Israel] to pieces,

but He will heal us [Israel];

He has wounded us [Israel],

but He will bind up our [Israel's] wounds.

2 After two days He will revive [H2421] us [Israel]; [see H2421 in Ezekiel 37 also, vv.3,5,6,9,10,14]

on/in the third day He will raise [H6965] us [Israel] up, [see H6965 in Isaiah 26 also, v.19]

that we [Israel] may live [H2421 (ditto the above note)] in His presence.

3 So let us [Israel] know—

let us [Israel] press on to know the LORD.

As surely as the sun rises,

He will appear;

He will come to us [Israel] like the rain,

like the spring showers that water the earth [/as the latter rain unto the earth].

____________

[then... quoting Gaebelein's Commentary on Hosea 5]

"And like the lion after his attack withdraws to his den, so the Lord would withdraw from them, leave them and return to His place, waiting till their repentance comes and they seek Him early in their affliction.

"The last verse of this chapter has a wider meaning than the past judgment which came upon the house of Israel. The Lord of glory came to earth and visited His people. He came with the message and offer of the kingdom to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. He came unto His own, but His own received Him not. After they had rejected Him, delivered Him into the hands of the Gentiles to be crucified, He returned to His place. There He is now at the right hand of God, waiting for that day, when the remnant of Israel will repent and seek His face Acts 3:19-26. [I mentioned Acts 3:21's reference to FUTURE events (i.e. the "UNTIL") in my Post #71 of this thread (note: different thread)]. That will be in their coming great affliction, in the time of Jacob’s trouble.

"Hosea 6:1-3. The division of the chapter at this point is unfortunate. The three verses of chapter 6 must not be detached from the previous chapter. Here we have the future repentance of the remnant of Israel, that is during the great tribulation. Believingly they will acknowledge His righteous judgment and express their faith and hope in His mercy and the promised blessings and restoration. They express what their great prophet Moses so beautifully stated in His prophetic song, that great vision given to him, ere he went to the mountain to die. “See now that I, even I, am He and there is no god with Me; I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; neither is there any that can deliver out of My hand” Deuteronomy 32:39. “After two days will He revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight (literally, before His face).” They have been dead spiritually and nationally, but when the two days of their blindness and dispersion are over, there is coming for them the third day of life and [what is *LIKENED UNTO a] resurrection."

--Gaebelein, Commentary on Hosea 5 (taken from Bible Hub)

[end quoting Gaebelein; bold and underline mine; bracketed insertions mine]

____________

[note the passages I've listed before that *LIKEN this UNTO a RESURRECTION ^ (re: Israel's "FUTURE"):
Romans 11:15(25-29); Ezekiel 37:12-14,20-23; Isaiah 26:16-21; Daniel 12:1-4,10; John 6:39 (distinct from v.40); Hosea 5:15-6:3 "after TWO days" and "IN the THIRD day"... which is "THE LAST" of these three (counting from His resurrection/ascension [32ad], per Hos5:15), or "THE LAST" of seven (if you count from creation/Genesis 1, i.e. the "sabbatismos" of Heb4:9 [see Ex31:13,17 "it [the sabbath/7th day] is A SIGN between Me and the children of Israel for ever"], aka the Millennial Day of REST, that is, the 7th Millennium, or "THE LAST")]

I believe it is a big mistake to view the phrase "The Last Day" to be referring to "a singular 24-hr day"

[end quoting old post]

____________

The "after two days" part ^ is (in our present time) near its conclusion. ;)

"be not ignorant OF THIS ONE THING" (Peter had said).

I think we are probably drawing near to Jesus' return... but maybe not for the normal reasons.

1.) I don't believe we're nearing His return merely because bad things are getting worse.
(Things could get much worse still, or even get worse and then better, over and over, in cycles. So although things are bad, this isn't a perfect barometer.)

2. I don't think we're nearing His return because things prophesied in the bible "appear" to be getting nearer.
(Many things prophesied seem to be "around the corner"... but there is no guarantee that everything which "seems to be" is actually a thing which "is." Things which "seem to be" around the corner, simply may or may not be as near as we think.)

3.) However, I think we may be nearing His return because some very strange things are heading our way, things which we cannot turn around or turn off, and things which God may simply not be able to allow.
I think in our age, our peculiar time, we have things approaching which are inevitable, and which are new, and which God simply cannot allow.

4.) What are these impending and inevitable things which God may not be able to allow?

a.) Transhumanism:
I don't think God will allow things to go so far that the human race turns into something that is no longer human... not if the earth is for humans, and Christ died for humans, and prophecy is for humans, and human life is sacred because it bears the image of God. If Jesus will come back to judge the human race... will he not come back before such time as the human race has disappeared into some unrecognizable genetic morass that is no longer human?

Will God allow his creation to reprogram itself, and physically turn itself into something immutably different?
Will he not judge the human race while it is still the human race... before it is no longer what he made?

When man is no longer man, does mercy and salvation still apply to some monster he did not create?
If mercy and salvation are no longer available... then it seems... the end will have already come.

b.) Neural Linking (interfaces connected directly to the brain):
- I don't think God will allow us to be put in a technological position where we lose power, or free will, over our own thoughts. And losing control of our own thoughts is the place where neural networks would inevitably go. This is what man would do with such technology. Like all things, it would be used for evil, and since this technology would interface with our thoughts, it would be easy for it to manipulate, or even control, our thoughts.
- Now God might allow us to lose control over our bodies in many ways: death, disease, imprisonment, tortures, old age, or any variety of hardship. But our thoughts are in a different category.
- If we lose control of our own thoughts and reasoning, then we can no longer serve God; we can no longer commune with God; we can no longer walk with God; we can no longer "think on good things" or participate in any other moral choices effected in our hearts and minds. We will have lost all, or most, of the imago dei... and it will be freely given up.

- But what about dementia? God allows that to happen, so how would this compare?

- In the case of dementia, we lose our thought processes, for a short time, involuntarily, before death. It is very sad, but it is also very human... and part of disease and aging beyond our control.
- In the case of neural links, we would lose our thought processes not to disease, but to some other entity which could control them, and it would be voluntary - giving up these precious things by consent. And furthermore, it would not just be a few people at a time, and when they're very old. It would be everyone, and when they're still young... people would give up their entire lives. People would give up all control of their thoughts and awareness, for their entire life, to some other entity, with no way to reverse or repent from such an existence.
It would be, essentially, for people to willingly extinguish themselves.

This is fairly dark and sinister, but it is merely the natural path such technology would follow. We know what fallen man does. And knowing the actions of fallen man... this is just how the technology would be used.

Conclusion:
Despite all the conspiracy theories, I don't think the two things I mentioned above are technologically feasible yet... at least not in a robust form. However, there are vast numbers of people working in these fields, and sooner or later they will come to fruition. Advances in technology are inevitable, and these particular technologies are attended by great money, human resources, and human will.
These things are inevitable, and I don't believe God will be able to allow them.

I find your take very interesting. It makes one wonder about all that was lost from the old Egyptian era. There were many advances there that were lost. Perhaps for reasons similar to what you have described God destroyed that civilization.

What if the mark of the beast is not something material? What if it is Satan's alternative to the sealing of the Holy Spirit?
I have posted this before, but I do not know if you have ever seen it .:)

Not everyone believes the mark of the beast on the hand and forehead are literal devices
or marks such as computer chips, vaccines, implants, bank cards, or anything similar, and
there are Scriptural reasons to believe they are not... much in the same way we would not
accept that just because people were trying to build the tower of Babel meant we think
they could have actually reached God that way, through their human means and/or effort,
or that the laws written on our hearts are literally etched/chiselled there.

The forehead very much represents a person's thinking and beliefs, out of which arise the
actions anyone takes and the things we do and what and/or who we serve with our hands.

Revelation 14:1 says, Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion,
and with him 144, 000 who had His name and His Father's name written on their foreheads.

Revelation 22:4 says: They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.

I believe the mark is meant to be symbolic of to Whom we have pledged our allegiance.

Deuteronomy 11:18 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds;
tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

Deuteronomy 6:5-8 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

Hebrews 10:16 “This is the covenant I will make with them after those days,
declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their hearts and inscribe them on their minds.”

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel
of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised
Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those
who are God’s possession—to the praise of His glory. – Ephesians 1:13-14

Ephesians 1:13-14

No matter what Igor has told you, I am DEFINITELY NOT in a creepy laboratory hooking up monsters to a lighting rod.

As far as you know.

actions anyone takes and the things we do and what and/or who we serve with our hands.

Deuteronomy 11:18 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds;
tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

:)
I think along those same lines as well. I ask questions rather than make assertions because people are more receptive to questions.

Totally agree with you. With more and more reliance on computers and bank cards and microchips I would dare say we will see the mark of the beast in our time.

Not everyone believes the mark of the beast on the hand and forehead are literal devices
or marks such as computer chips, vaccines, implants, bank cards, or anything similar, and
there are Scriptural reasons to believe they are not...
I believe these are distractions or devices of Satan to lead people away from what really counts.

Our relationship with Jesus. Our characters, and faith, and understanding of the truth.

When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, the word was his defence.. we can get distracted with cards and computer chips, to the degree that when the real test comes we don't know Jesus would have us do.

Jos 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth.....15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve. .....

God reads the heart.....

Where I live we are experiencing weather patterns they have not seen since men began recording the weather.

So it's an accumulation of Signs we are witnessing.

Look at the recent hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and natural disasters. They are more frequent than Ever before.

Outside of the Blatant acceptance of SINS being promoted to moral norms, the surge of Nations conglomerating, technology in position for unified Bank/Medical/IDENTIFICATION/etc...the Weather has been a witness we are closer to the End.
