I wonder how Americans would react if Mexico decided to take back territory illegally taken by the USA.
If that is what they believe, they are more than welcome to try.

After the end of the Cold war and the collapse of USSR which one had been adding countries NATO or Russia?

And btw, Crimea was part of Russia from 1783, and there is a sizable percent of ethnic Russians living in that region. Crimea was transferred to Ukraine in 1954.

So things are always more complicated than they seem.
NATO is an alliance. It is not ruled by a dictator with delusions of grandeur. The reason that nations want to join NATO is simple. Russia. Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, there has been a rush to join NATO. So Putin's plan has backfired in yet another way. And people tell me how intelligent he is. He has achieved the implosion of his economy, NATO has awakened from its torpor, military budgets have been increased and Putin has exposed the weakness of his forces.

Much of the military hardware supplied is from aging stock. Munitions have a use-by date. The Pentagon is also receiving invaluable real world performance data on the more modern weaponry supplied.

Russia handed Crimea to Ukraine. It was voluntary. Is it acceptable to do a land grab for no good reason? I don't recall any negotiations. Perhaps you would not object if Russia seized Alaska. It's been American since 1867 but so what?

Not look good for the UAF right now. As for "winning"....I really don't think anybody cares much anymore.
There will be $$$massive opportunities$$$ for the right people to grift a fortune off of the aid packages and rebuilding monies.
10% for the Big Guy still leaves plenty left to skim by the notoriously corrupt Ukie gov't swindlers.

Pretty naive analysis bro. Does the term "protection - intimidation" racket mean anything to you?

Should you think in terms of rival mafia crime families battling over turf.......then (and only then) it all starts making sense.
As for "delusions of grandeur", it seems that you are under the woefully impaired impression that the "good guys" are right honorable honest peace loving amicable and truly care about human lives.

Unfortunately nothing could be further from the truth. The good guys are greedy killers, liars, patsies and con men just the same as the bad guys. No more, no less.

I agree with America being the best place to live.

That being said they kept political prisoners for years for Jan 6th. Some including people in their 80s for the misdemeanor of "trespassing." This was something even Putin called out on Biden.

This is so wrong but they used the long awaiting trial in the USA as a weapon for a misdemeanor and didn't give them bail.

I think this is one of the worst things Biden did (to my knowledge). He only had military around him when inaugurated. It was a very a great inauguration for a dictator.
You can still vote Biden out. He can still only preside for 8 years at most. Xi has had the constitution of China changed so that he can rule for life. That is dictatorship.

You misunderstand me. I think that Ukraine is the lesser of two evils. America knows all about crime gangs, drug lords, corrupt politicians and a host of other evils. Does that justify a nation attacking America and/or her allies? Let China take over the Pacific?

My question is always, "Where would I prefer to live." For the moment, with all its problems, it's Australia. America would be likely next on my list or perhaps Canada. Russia, Iran, Iraq, China, all Muslim countries, and most of Africa are way down towards the bottom of my list. North Korea does not figure at all. I'd last 5 minutes there.

I think North Korea and the US should work together and help each other. The US has a very obvious problem of obesity. I would think that North Korea could set up "fat camps" where people can go there for summer camp and lose 20-40 pounds. The nice thing is North Korea could do this at a price that the average American could afford.

Not everyone is against war

Someone at Brown university calculated that the Iraq war and Afghanistan war and future expenses for the veterans comes to $9 trillion. You have to realize that this money pays for a lot.

For example, crime in the cities is up because they don't have the money to deal with it properly. You might think that everyone would be against that. But the people who got this $9 trillion live in gated communities with private security, so no big deal.

You might think that everyone would be concerned about horrific public school has become in this country because we don't have the resources to do a good job but this is no skin off the backs of the people who got this $9 trillion, their kids go to private schools.

You might think that they would be intimidated by the threat of nuclear war looming on the horizon. But these people who got the $9 trillion they know people, they know generals and senators. No way their kids get sent to die in this war, and if it does come to the US the new overlords will still want to buy weapons, so they'll adjust. Their house is not a military target and they all have billionaire bunkers to ride out the first two months until all the deplorables starve to death and die from cholera.

We are seeing evidence of our crumbling infrastructure impacting air traffic safety and railroad safety, surely that would be something that everyone is concerned about. No? No. These guys got $9 trillion! They fly in private jets, and they don't live anywhere near train tracks. Sheesh, have you never seen these incredible mansions in the gated communities?

Within 12 hours, both @nytimes & @washingtonpost
published long articles claiming that a Ukrainian group blew up the Nord Stream pipeline. German media picked it up. Now the German defense minister is threatening to withdraw support for Kiev. We now know what’s the plan.

Olaf Scholtz went to the US to tell Biden: Either YOU blame Ukraine so we can pull our support for Ukraine—or WE blame YOU and pull out of NATO.

Yup. Looks like they have all agreed to conjure up a false narrative that will provide plausibility to pulling out of the failed Ukie war.
Zelensky gets thrown to the dogs. Tragic end. I truly wished he would have repented.

Maybe, however it's not working for Kim. He and his family needs to visit his own camp. But yes, "fat tourism" could be a winner.

Can you imagine what a complete joke Biden will be to the whole world if they lose this war with Russia. After Afghanistan, a complete embarrassment, this will be an even bigger embarrassment. He bankrupts the US to prop up a coke head only to lose to a country a tenth the size of the US. Also there must be something that Biden is really worried about to pour so much into Ukraine.

So my point is Biden is already "all in" just as much as Putin is. He can't afford to lose anymore than Putin can. If NATO is going to pull out he has to do something drastic and soon.

...You can still vote Biden out...
After the MASSIVE election frauds of 2020 and 2022, that is no longer true. Since the RINOs failed to set up an Election Fraud Commission in 2020, and seriously address all the issues leading to fraudulent elections, we are simply going to see more fraud by the Leftists, and the Democrats will establish a Communist Dictatorship. That has been the goal all along.

Don't forget:
-massive election fraud boosting nutters into office, now the rule not the exception
-rogue FBI, CIA and DOJ operatives infiltrating and operating all of the media agencies
-this intractable propaganda spewing over the newswires 24/7
-executive branch and media fomenting internecine race wars 24/7
-massive sovereign twin deficits that are accelerating to inevitable bankruptcy of the nation

USA crazy train hurling toward the precipice of the abyss with lunatic cartoon coyotes at the throttle.

Russian Broadcasting Announces a “Nuclear Strike Has Been Conducted” After Hackers Break Into System (VIDEO)

Now that it looks like Ukraine may lose I think the "pro Ukrainian group" that destroyed Nordstream wants Ukraine reduced to ashes to hide whatever blackmail material Zelensky has.

If you have access to a billionaire bunker there is an upside to nuclear war. Once you emerge from your cave underground you can be ruler of the rubble, I mean ruble, I mean you will be king of the radioactive pile of ash.

Brush up on your history please. NATO (aka USA) has been the aggressor. Whatever form of government the Soviets have is not the issue, if you cannot see that Ukraine has been the bait then you really do not understand the geopolitics since the end of the cold war.

The article says it was the third time this month they did this. Idiots. Although, it might have something to do with the Zappy nuclear plant being affected by the missile strikes yesterday. I think it was just cut off from outside power supplies, (which really shouldn't be a problem unless the reactors are shut down but even then they have backup generators). BUT the fact that the war even comes near the plant probably scares and/or aggravates plenty of people. They don't need anymore nuclear wasteland/ghost cities there in Ukraine.
All the more reason they need to get this over with, one way or the other.

It used to be you couldn't joke about this, couldn't even mention it, now we get daily threats of nuclear attack. I shared this with my brother a few months back and he wasn't aware of the news, he wanted to have me committed. I said I would agree on one condition, that Biden and Putin stop threatening nuclear war first.

Yeah, I mean, people will say it's a "slippery slope" kind of thing, but why even mess around; this isn't a ski resort. But I guess we are supposed to wait until we are at defcon 1 to start the conversation about escalation maybe being a bad idea.
