Does God have any criteria at all that may determine those He chooses?
Ephesians 1:11

[11] In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will

For his glory.

His purposes, his will.
Does he purpose to make some good and others bad? or in other words, does God will that some people be bad while making others good?

Pre-creation election is clearly taught in scripture so Arminians must address it.
According to the Arminians, God elected some based on his foresight into who would choose to believe. “He’ll choose me so I’ll elect himlet me jot his name down in the book…”
So the Arminian reality is, neither the Father nor the Son chose the bride.
It sounds like Catholicism, to me, maybe a good excuse for the pope to feal he should be the next rock, I go with the elect is the spirit that lives in you.

There are none that are good so He doesn't have to make anyone bad...merely leave them to their own devices.

Much to the contrary to what people have told me about Calvin's belief, God does not predestine mankind's every thought and deed, but he does give mankind the freedom to choose how they want to live their lives as they live in this world.

That is why none would seek him (Psalms 14:2). God had compassion, and choose most of them to be adopted as his children, and had his Son to pay the adoption price, by giving his body, as a sacrifice to God for the redemption of their sins

Why he did not choose all of mankind, we do not know, but we know that he accomplishes all of his will. We don't understand his will, and are told not to question it (Dan 4:35).

Dan 4:34 But at the end of those days I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven, and my sanity was restored to me. Then I praised the Most High, and I honored and glorified Him who lives forever: “For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation.

In Dan 4:34 I highlighted the red showing Neb did the doing, in blue, and the green shows what God did.

That’s the question, why even create mankind knowing some would languish in hell. It’s a question not only for the Calvinist, the Arminian must answer it as well.

The Calvinist will say, only God is good. Therefore all mankind is bad and deserving of hell. But God chooses to save few by his own will and power for his glory. For his glory.

But some will say, what’s glorifying about creating mankind knowing some would perish? If he can save some then why not save all? Why give some over to the hardness of their heart while softening others?

Paul answers, who are you oh man to question God? So what if he desires to honor himself by those he saves while some perish, does he not have that right?

So you see, It’s about honoring himself, Father, Son and Spirit.

A deeper look reveals that the Father purposed to honor the Son by opening the eyes of the dead. Once alive they see the perfect Son, love and emulate him for eternity. All creation is to honor God. Father, Son and Spirit.

The Arminian typically approaches from the position that God’s greatest desire in creation is to save man. But, that’s not true.

The triune God, Father, Son and Spirit love one another perfectly and his greatest desire is to honor himself.

WOW.

So God CREATES not to share His Love, but to bring Himself glory and honor, cause I guess He was lacking then?

He used pain and suffering to honor Himself.

Why does this remind me of real world tyrants rather than the God of the Bible?

Read everything you just wrote here again, please. Read it a couple times if needed.

Now, look at the points in General you made for how Calvin thinks and then how Armini would think.

Do you notice every HIGHLIGHT for Calvinism makes God look sketch?

But Armini's gives honor to God and in your own writing it still appears the HIGHLIGHTED Points for Armini are Glorifying God.

Now, I am No Fan of either Armini or Calvin.

I see rights and wrongs in Both Viewpoints.

My Bible tells me Yeshua came down in the Role of Son, He is the WORD, but He took on this Role for Salvation.

But more than anything else Yeshua accomplished in His Role, He Accomplished Glorifying our Holy Father!

If a Viewpoint doesn't Glorify God, then who is it Glorifying?

Calvinism does not Glorifying God in any way, form, or shape.

You are on this Forum Glorifying Calvin and his idealism.

Because of your Glorifying to Calvin you have nothing left to Glorify God.

I would prefer in my own Walk in God to believe the Holy Words I read reveal the Glorification unto the God!

Only people's Viewpoints turn God into a MONSTER.

This Thread exemplifies that to the nth degree..

Amen!

Yes Indeed, God wants 10000000000000000% of ALL the Glory, but He wants it GIVEN/OFFERED/DESIRED by His Creation to Give Him His Deserved Glory!

He wants to be Praised and Worshipped!

That comes only from those WILLING to Praise and Worship God.

Clearly it’s you that needs to read it a few more times. And while you’re at it, read your posts a few times before publishing. What a mess.

I was fortunate not to be tethered to either of these men so that I can answer apart from the prescribed diagnosis of either doctor. God created mankind out of love and if any of them are destroyed, I confident in presuming that such judgment wouldn't stray from the character so 'languishing' would not be any assumption that I could derive from the sentence. It's men that appears to take pleasure in mankind's languishing. It is my understanding that judgment will be swift and sure, and the extended "languishing' has been derived from man's own notions of God's character. That idea has been deeply ingrained into tradition, tho, so it won't be any quick operation to extract it. And since the rest of your reply is patterned after your own notions speckled with only allusions to scripture, I refrain from addressing any further commentary from it.

To a Sinner without God looking at the Grand Canyon and its many layers and carvings and it's one giant puzzle, hole, incredible Statement by God that even the Sinner without God can think to themselves [did a God really do this]?

And that is God getting Glorification from a Sinner Without Him.

You think God getting Glory is by Him forcing people to do it like robots.

If the rocks can cry out and Worship God then the ultimate Praise God gets is from a WILLING person to seek Him, find Him, Praise and Worship Him.

You dishonor God!
