One thing at a time, lets start here. From day one as a Christian, I was warned against admiring the beauty of the girls in school, in our Bible study, at church - because that would be lust, and if you lust after a woman, you go to hell, you're guilty of sin.
Oh, okay, I'm supposed to gouge out my eyes cause they're causing me to sin. I'm a coward, i didn't have the courage to ask someone to rip my eyes out.
Admiring beauty is not a sin. Liking a girl, being attracted to a girl is not sin. Lust is sexually craving a person so much so that you don't even see them as a person but an object. You don't care about their wants, you don't care about right and wrong, you don't care about marriage, you just want and crave that person for your own desires. So that is a huge difference between seeing a woman as beautiful and lust. So you can leave your eyes in tact.

Of course, we are warned even more strongly against lusting after our own gender. So it's hopeless. I don't know how people get married. But if they do get married, then suddenly it's okay to get naked and do all the things you had been warned would send you to hell. I don't see how I could even enjoy such activity after being warned all my life that that would send me straight to hell.
.
Trust me, you'll be able to enjoy it. God sets limits on sex for a reason. It's ok to do those things in a marriage because it is a commitment to God and each other. It is sacred. So many people have a hard time in relationships because they have slept with so many people. And each time you do that you give a piece of your heart to that person. And when they walk away and give themselves to another person you suffer because you have given away a piece of yourself. That is why God has limited sex to one partner. Because it's best for our spiritual, mental and sexual health. God is not trying to harm us.

I've been told that dating is wrong, I've been told that kissing before marriage is wrong..
Yeah there was a period there, based on a book, that people started saying don't date before marriage. I thought it was stupid, frankly. How do you get to know a person if you don't spend time with them? I kissed my husband before I was married, no issue there. Each person is different. If you have issues with going to far, or feeling that you might just stay in groups and go to public places. Hubby and I know every park around our house for 50 miles. I married a lot later in life but still we were either with family or in public places.

Everything is wrong, wrong, wrong. So if this is what it means to be a Christian, I can understand why some people turn away from it. It's just a bunch of rules - even though we are told we are to live by faith, not the law, the law is abolished. I'm not so sure about it. Us Christians seem to be very good at making rules for ourselves and others. So if the Christian life is just a bunch of do's and don't's (mostly don't's), what really makes us any different than the Pharisees of Jesus' time?
Well again, certain rules are in place for a reason, for our benefit. But it seems you have a rather strict upbringing. I have a nephew that is 18 and has a girlfriend I haven't met yet but I fully expect that they kiss. My sister watches over them and they are going to church and family activities. This is his first gf. When you're younger though it's best to surround yourself with friends and family, usually you don't marry the first person you date. And unless you want the responsibility of children you'll be even more careful.

Today I had to sit through a meeting at work all about trans people. It was fairly graphic. I'm disturbed about this trend of normalizing what used to be seen as a mental illness. The line I used to hear was "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve", but this is going beyond that. They seem to be saying "God made Adam and Eve, but he messed up; Eve was supposed to be Evan, and Adam was supposed to be Amanda".
I gotta go wash my brain out after having it filled with all that filth. Seriously thinking about looking for another job.

And what is worse is they are pushing underage kids to make permanent changes. Sad to see some of them who are older and say they were pushed into it and now cannot go back.

Yeah, it's awful. It's evil. Where are our mental health professionals in all of this?
Our cat sometimes like to chase toys and bring them back to us, but he hasn't convinced us he is a dog.
The world really is going mental.

I think it can seem that way when there is not a good understand as to the why.

When there is not a concrete set of moral values, then there will be NO bottom to the depravity, filth, and perversions.

We had based our morality as a society and nation on Judeo- Christian values, anchored by the Bible.
NOW, there is NO moral foundation.

That is why I refuse to concede that homosexuality is just a "lifestyle choice", and those choosing that aren't harming anyone else by allowing them to marry.

THERE. IS. NO. BOTTOM.

I'm not sure that the USA was ever rooted in Judeo-Christian values anchored by the Bible. You'd have a hard time convincing black men and women who were forced to sit in the back of the bus that their country was rooted in Christian values.

Wasn't it Christians who brought about the changes. America would look very different today were it not for her Judeo-Christian heritage.

Black women and men have long been able to sit where they want. And if you did not know, the Church was the back bone behind civil rights in the 1950s and 60s. it would be good if people would learn history instead of talking point from those who never seen a slave

You don't think there is or was racism in the church?

Racism is the cousin of the spirit of murder that entered Cain, who killed his brother.

"The Church " does not have racism, but the definition of "Racism " has changed. The term is used now against those who disagree with an ideology. I will agree Sunday morning in many places is separated.

What is the ideology you refer to?

you say Homosuality is a sin, that is racist and judgmental. anything that meets the "Woke " Mindset
I say that? When did I say that? I don't have anything against gay people. I have friends and co-workers that are gay. If someone says the gay lifestyle is sinful, that is not racist. It's got nothing to do with race, it's about lifestyle.
I don't know what "woke" means. Woke? I assume that means one is awake, as opposed to asleep. If a person was asleep, I would take that to mean they are blind to injustice, blind to hate, suffering, they are just going through the motions of life on a daily basis. I hope we are waking up to what is happening to us as a people, and the planet we live on.
Of course, if we believe God's ultimate plan is to destroy the planet he created, then we don't have to worry about living here in another 50 or 100 years.

You've completely missed the point.

I think you may be just acting contrarian for contrary sake.

excuse me; I was unclear. The question was, "You don't think there is or was racism in the church? "

my answer :

Those who are known in America as having been " Woke" hold to a Climate change agenda, sexualizing children, and abortion in any form, even after birth. Gender Identity and devil worship. That is the "Ideology " I am referring to.

Those with this mindset say to Christians who say Homosexuality is a sin are judgemental or racist. About 25 years ago, they called us intolerant. Most of the time, these catchphrases were said to us when the truth was provided that refuted their understanding of many subjects. These peace all about love people started to manifest uncontrolled rage and violence, and any gay person who wanted to leave was stocked and tormented relentlessly by an activist who was gay. yOU WANT TO SEE TRUE HATE and intolerance.
Be someone who has left homosexuality and say it is wrong, and try to move on with your life as a Christian. The LBGTQ displays the most hate you will ever see.

You don't believe climate change is real? Wow.
I believe there are four seasons in which the climate changes: winter, spring, summer, and fall. Some last a little longer than others or start sooner. It has been that way since the dawn of Time. You did not know that? FYI, man can't control the weather. Do you believe he can? Wow!

I see. A science denier. I can see where this is discussion is going. I suppose you believe Donald Trump is the greatest president God ever created, too.
