Yes! God sent Jonah to tell Nineveh they were going to be destroyed in forty days. God did not lie. Nineveh was going to be destroyed in forty days. However, they were not destroyed in forty days because they repented. Because they repented, God repented.
God didn't repent. He did what He always does when people repent.

God controls this world. Otherwise, you are saying Satan is stronger than God. I know you don't believe that.
The poster is unaware that God controls the devil, the devil exists to serve the Purpose of God

But when we speak of Predestination we speak of it as having to do with the execution of the great designs of God by which He has determined the time, place, order and destiny of all beings, worlds or events, that every event must be accomplished in the order of time in the exact order and succession of events that He has determined in His infinite wisdom.

We must remember that we in our earthly nature are creatures of time and subject to the vicissitude of time; but God is “the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity and his name is holy.” Nothing can be beforehand with God, nor behindhand with Him. He declares the end from the beginning, and all things are naked and present to His infinite and omniscient eye. Predestination therefore signifies to us the fixed, determined purpose and counsel of God, in which He has ordained irrevocably the destiny of all things, before they are brought to pass in the order of time.

Did the christ you believe in die to save everyone, even them who dont ever have faith in him ?
I’ll enlarge a portion of my previously stated post in an attempt to help clarify things for you:

I have faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Messiah, Lord of all and Savior of everyone who has faith in Him.

I see you afraid to answer my question.

It was not God's will that David's son die.
This is hilarious, but the child died anyway. This comment shows me a lot about your understanding of God and its not good.

I agree. This was all gone over pages ago with John .:rolleyes:.

Why John cannot agree is perplexing. He seems to be stuck. Got any WD40?
He'll get it eventually. We all would be benefitted by an enlarging in our understanding of God.
Now where did I put my anointing oil anyway?

Better to understand what it actually means.
Repent...God said one thing, and decided to do something else...change his course of action.

10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
