When people say they have no dads now, I cant assume they even had a dad, they might have been a test tube baby and grown up with lesbian mums. This is what one guy told me he had. (He was a work colleague and we were just talking, not going out)

I am like OK. You meet all kinds of people. I often meet people who's parents have died although I can't recall meeting anyone who was truly orphaned (BOTH parents died when they were young)

I typically hesitate to post on threads (or sometimes even participate in conversations) like this because I'm not looking to get married or be in a relationship at this time in my life. But it is a good topic so I'll add my (a young woman's) perspective.

*He must have a strong relationship with the Lord and be grounded in the Word
*We'd have to agree on major doctrines
*He must be a hard worker
*He must be open to God's leading in areas such as where to live, vocation, etc.
*He must be kind and respectful to others and good with children
*He must be aware and watchful of the times we're living in

There are preferences too, such as I hope he'd want to live a simple lifestyle and farm, and that he'd like music and singing.

A lot of men have dangerous jobs like mining for example or in the military which is why a lot of fatherless children. I think women who marry worry what kind of job their husband has and if he'll still be alive at then end of the day!

Many woman require a man to be GSOH (good state of health) if they are to be husband material.

What is husband material? Do we need to spell it out?

Lol if a woman can stick by a guy no matter what then it’s meant to be. Vise versa health shouldn’t matter if the love is real

What if a guy said he wants a woman who is good state of health but has cancer in her family, should he leave her? Or love her

I think when you are young people are generally in good state of health unless they have chronic illness and cant hold down a job. Thats what people mean. Because raising a family will take it out of you. This is not to say that they wont stay together when older and health issues creep up but having to deal with that on top of eveything else is not easy

I was in perfect health till I hit the age I am around now. Started affecting me back in 2017. I worked very hard at my job and worked for a union there and helped lots of people.

I valued them, very much so. They were and are family

But who cares what the world wants and says? God says to love as you love yourself and be not conformed to this world so in that this world view doesn’t mean jack. 😢

Cancer is random its no heritable but theres probably other things you need to be aware of as treatment for illnesses can be expensive and time consuming. So you may not be able to have children. Like for example things like haemophilia.
Although lots of diseases are preventable eg dont drink alcohol and you wont have to deal with alcoholicism. Though cant imagine what its like to marry into a family of drunkards lol.

Im just saying ...well hospitals are not the best places to spend most your life is all unless you are a nurse or doctor or medical professional that can handle it. Im sure many nurses marry their patients (after they get better) though doctors arent allowed to. lol

Most people ignore medical advice anyway and go on to have families whenever. Even if they are on drugs at the time, and we know it affects babies in the womb.

Dealing with crack babies and FAS is not a fun thing though for most people though you try to give everyone a chance at life.
