Not true. It was never a Christian theocracy.
Agree!

My post was tongue cheek, I always think people know me on here like in real life so they pick up on my sarcasm, hyperbole etc.,

Me serious:

I do not believe it is the last days.
No we should never surrender, we have a job to do (salt and light, the Great Commission)

Agree wholeheartedly with the rest of your post. :)

That is contrary to scripture.
I always saw it in light as from Genesis 11 where Babel was doing things God was unhappy with so he separated them https://biblehub.com/interlinear/genesis/11.htm Then several thousand years later they became the melting pot of the world and were trying to undo the things in Genesis 11 in Revelation 17-18 https://biblehub.com/interlinear/revelation/17.htm and https://biblehub.com/interlinear/revelation/18.htm So pretty much God separated peoples to stop these things and then in the end (Revelation) the world ends up judged because they reversed the things God saw as good(in the end they take back up Babel so he uses Babylon from after the flood to describe them in Revelation in the future). Anyway that's how I take the things I see happening today as if a complete reversal of what the Bible says, lol.

Very interesting connections.

I just do not think we can speed up the return of Christ, nor do I think we should let the world go on on a downward spiral to hasten His return, that was my objection to the post.

Did you ever consider that Pentecost where everyone heard in their own language was the beginning of reversing the effects of Babel?

The way I see Acts 2 though is that it was Joel 2:28-32(Peters explanation of it) and so it was the Gospel being prophesied.

In Genesis 11 and in Revelation they are descriptions of the evil(lie) and not the good(truth) and so I don't think it would be described in Acts 2 as good if Babylon was the same thing in Revelations descriptions of it(ones good ones bad).

I get your analogy. And Babylon is pictured as a worldly focus and perspective. But it didn't start that way. And it's not going to end that way. I believe Pentecost was just a beginning of the restoration God will do.

Even I mine own self have tossed these things back and forth in my mind to seek their meanings. In Acts 3:21 the Lord is received in Heaven until the restoration of all things so I guess I see it beginning at his return. https://biblehub.com/interlinear/acts/3.htm

I understand that point of view. I believe He's already here in the midst of His ever growing church and plucking brands from the fire as we speak.

I kind of doubt is has to do with spanking.

I gotta wonder at the use of this word in the article... "heteronormativity"? Does that mean that "normal" isn't a good thing anymore?

And what about this statement, "...Please reassess your topic and edit it to focus on women’s rights (not just "females") and I’ll regrade."
so women aren't females any more?

I frankly couldn't give a flying flock of seagulls what a bunch of ding bat "professors" say. I know what I am and I don't need progressives to tell what I am, who I am or what I believe. So they can step off because I'm not calling some hairy legged, size 14 shoe, adam's apple male a female. I don't how bad they get their "panties" in a twist. Ok, off the soapbox for now.

Somewhat tongue and cheek. I notice that all these people I see either in social media or when I run into them, luckily not many where I live, they are dying to be noticed. They will turn themselves inside out for attention, and they don't really care what kind. Just as long as they get a reaction. They are incredibly immature, selfish, no self discipline and cannot stand being like everyone else. So yeah, lack of discipline seems to be a big issue in their lives.

Not true. It was never a Christian theocracy. But, Christianity influenced the founding principles of the nation. The first democratic institutions were established by the colonists in their churches. The Bible was taught in our public schools. Some of the notable people of the day, I think even a SCOTUS judge, called the new country a "Christian nation".

Now, however, that is drying up. It is probably due to the weakening of the American church itself. But, unlike you and your attitude of surrendering and waiting for the last days to conclude, I am going to keep praying for a new great awakening within the American church. That will polish and sharpen us, making us an effective spiritual weapon in God's hands, and (hopefully) cause cultural and political change and restoration.

True enough, all these colleges were started as Christian. I believe one of the founding fathers may have loaned one of them his personal library.

I see your point of view,, I see death as the last enemy and so resurrection from the death occurring at his second coming. There's salvation that we obtained on the Cross purchased by the blood of Jesus and then the resurrection from the dead. Why do you think Paul is referring to death being overcome at Jesus coming in a future manner if we should see it as past? https://biblehub.com/interlinear/1_corinthians/15.htm

I'm not sure Paul is talking about physical death. Jesus holds the keys to death and hell and we have already passed from death to life.

Raised from the dead physically at the second coming...
That's just referring to our bodies. Does 1 Corinthians 15:55-58 help clarify.
At the cross, in one sense, Jesus destroyed the works of the devil. Spiritually this is spoken of in Romans 8:29-30 as already accomplished. But we know from experience it is still being worked out even though it is a certainty. The same is true here in my opinion. I Corinthians 15:55-58 reveals that death has lost its sting and the grave its victory. Why? Jesus acquired judicially all power and authority. And He could at any time place everything under His feet. But God promised to fill the earth with His glory. And until that becomes a reality, Jesus will build His church and God will continue to remake them into the image of His Son. But nothing will or can stop it. And Christ will come and physical death will be no more.
