Why did God put that tree in the garden if it were not for a choice? He told them not to eat from eat, but from all the other trees they could eat. Sounds like a choice.
They made a choice but that's not why God put the tree there. He didn't tempt them with evil for their own good. He specifically told them not to eat from it for their own good.

when they sinned, did God not place an Angel to keep them from eating the Tree of Eternal Life?
they had access to it, so, why not eat that First?

And God said, “Now that humankind has become like any of us, knowing good and bad, what if one should stretch out a hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever!”

So God banished humankind from the garden of Eden, to till the humus from which it was taken:

וַיְגָ֖רֶשׁ אֶת־הָֽאָדָ֑ם וַיַּשְׁכֵּן֩ מִקֶּ֨דֶם לְגַן־עֵ֜דֶן אֶת־הַכְּרֻבִ֗ים וְאֵ֨ת לַ֤הַט הַחֶ֙רֶב֙ הַמִּתְהַפֶּ֔כֶת לִשְׁמֹ֕ר אֶת־דֶּ֖רֶךְ עֵ֥ץ הַֽחַיִּֽים׃ {ס}
it was driven out; and east of the garden of Eden were stationed the cherubim and the fiery ever-turning sword, to guard the way to the tree of life.
You are assuming they knew they would fall if they ate of the tree of knowledge and evil. Do you not accept the biblical rendition of what happened?

They were put out of the garden by God and did not have the opportunity to bring any snacks along.

your post 197

Is that a yes you believe God created evil? That was dealt with multiple times although I guess you were not here.

God created night. That is evil to you?

The Bible says this:

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning. 3Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. 4In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. john 1: 1-5

So Jesus is the light of the world. Darkness does not understand nor can it overcome the light.

Explain then how God is evil? God is good. ALL the time.
Night is the opposite of day, it’s not evil. Evil is the opposite of good. I don’t understand the confusion. I never said God is evil. God can do evil. God can and has caused destruction. That’s the opposite of good.

Well you just go ahead then and write your own story in Genesis. Please don't let anyone stop you. :giggle:

That does not say what you say. The evil was their destruction. It does not say God is or created evil.

I can't even anymore. I understand more and more why the church is in such trouble and why people have so little faith and do not ever obtain all that God has for them. They have misapprehended God's character, taken verses out of context to support personal interpretation and declare God made evil.

GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME.
God repented of the evil that he said he would do unto them and he did it not. What evil was God going to do unto them? Destroy them.

What a merry go round.

This one believes God can 'do' evil. Therefore, God has evil in Him.

Just gotta love human reasoning without the Holy Spirit.

You too may also write your own narrative. I prefer the biblical narrative. :giggle:

I get what you are saying. Why then, did God put the tree there in the first place?

God never told them to eat from the tree of life. He said they could eat from any tree save one.

You are adding to scripture. I don't know what you are all about but I will never agree with someone who is doing what you are doing

I learned a long time ago you can't have a fruitful discussion with a KJVO. That's all I have to say to you.

Why would you equate the two? God can do evil, but it’s not in him. Why say that? I prefer to allow the Bible to define itself. Btw, I have the Holy Spirit.😉

something in the minds of Adam and Eve kept them from choosing to eat of that Tree so they would choose to eat of the one forbidden.

or, maybe it was on their minds to eat but they refused to.

that makes sense because how the Bible explains it, Adam knew Eve was being deceived, but he didn't stop her. maybe Adam not stopping Eve is part of possibly rejecting to eat the Tree of Life. maybe Adam rebelled? he even had an excuse already, the WOMAN You gave me made me Sin! he was blaming God for making Eve who made him Sin.

i kind of really do want to meet Adam now when i get to Heaven, after all!

New International Version
I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these things.
I wonder why God created both the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and put them both in the garden?

I wonder why God sets both Life and Death before us and wants us to make a CHOICE… and even tells us to choose Life but still leaves the choice up to us?

I wonder why God gives us a Savior but leaves the choice to believe or not to believe up to us?

Choices….choices… decisions… decisions

Why is it so important to God that man gets to have a…. Choice?
I'm not sure how significant this is sweetheart

The Hebrew bible translates as the lord created bad not evil from isiah 45.7, evil comes back as ra or רָ֑ע in the Hebrew Bible.

When you translate רָ֑ע to English it comes back as the lord creating bad. Bad isn't necessarily evil.

How ever there's something probably no one as ever spotted here when you translate Hebrew רָ֑ע (ra) to Yiddish language it means God not bad or evil or calamity but God

I suspect where all speaking in a devided lauguage, the bible says God will divide the languages so no one will understand each other.

Remember the tower of Babel.

I hope you come to realize that God did not create evil, and that the totkog&e was not evil, either.

Because neither views are Biblically sound.
Have you asked God?

I know you love God and I know He loves you… ask Him if He created evil. He’ll answer you, no reason to argue with me.
