Place to post or discuss scripture that pertains to the 1000 year reign of Christ

Zechariah 14

16 Then every one that survives of all the nations that have come against Jerusalem shall go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of booths. 17 And if any of the families of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, there will be no rain upon them. 18 And if the family of Egypt do not go up and present themselves, then upon them shall[e] come the plague with which the Lord afflicts the nations that do not go up to keep the feast of booths. 19 This shall be the punishment to Egypt and the punishment to all the nations that do not go up to keep the feast of booths.

Zechariah 14:16-19
Amen:

Zechariah 8:20-23

"Thus saith the LORD of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall
come people, and the inhabitants of many cities: And the inhabitants of
one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before
The LORD, and to seek The LORD of hosts: I will go also.
Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek
The LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that
ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall
take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you:
for we have heard that God is with you."
Amen.

Mic 4:4 . . Every man will sit under his own vine and under his own fig
tree.

I take it that pertains to real estate. Well, as of 2012, roughly 30% of Israel
lived in rentals; and of those who own their own homes, I can't say how
many have enough property for vines and fig trees.

But if everyone in Israel is to have enough land for orchards and whatnot,
then that country's badlands will have to be restructured.

"The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and
blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and
shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel
and Sharon; they will see the glory of The Lord, the excellency of our God."
(Isa 35:1-2)

"Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. The
burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the
haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and papyrus will grow." (Isa
35:6-7)

Lebanon's glory of old was timber; especially cedars (1Kng 4:33). Sharon
was known for its flowers (Song 2:1) and Carmel for its orchards (Isa 33:9).
How God will bo about getting timber, flowers, and orchards to flourish in
Israel's badlands should be interesting.

NOTE: The modern State of Israel has managed to make a percentage of its
badlands productive by means of bore holes, diversion, desalinized water,
recycled effluent, and drip irrigation. But those are desperate measures
rather than miraculous providence. Israel has accomplished amazing things
via technology, but their technology is no more supernatural than the
science and industry that took men to the moon and back.

Technology is not the ideal solution to Israel's lack of adequate rain and
arable soil. And I just don't think hydroponic gardening is God's idea of the
best way to grow food. I'm pretty sure He prefers food grown in dirt rather
than liquid, and the use of natural fertilizers rather than chemicals, and
prefers His people nourish themselves with organic foods instead of GMO.

Mic 4:3 . . nor will they train for war anymore.

Defense budgets not only employ many thousands of military personnel; but
also a great number of folks in the military industrial complex which includes
not only folks involved in manufacturing equipment for the military, but also
folks employed to provide the military with the various goods and services it
needs to operate.

Defense budgets are a sort of catch-22. On the one hand, they're a drain on
the GNP, while on the other hand, a large percentage of their dollars circle
back to tax payers as salaries, wages, and benefits.

Isa 65:20 . . Never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few
days, or an old man who does not live out his years; he who dies at a
hundred will be thought a mere youth; he who fails to reach a hundred will
be considered accursed.

The older we get the more our quality of life diminishes. But in the kingdom,
senior citizens won't be regarded as senile old gas bags because they'll
still be vigorous.

Of course Christians can expect to enjoy perpetual youth but not everyone in
the kingdom will have a glorified, immortal body. The presence of infants in
the kingdom tells us that that for many folks, life will go on as usual:
marrying and raising families.

Matt 13:40-43 . . As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it
will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and
they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do
evil. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping
and gnashing of teeth.

That passage pertains not only to Gentiles but also Jews because according
to Ezek 20:33-38 a number of Jews will be culled from the herd and sent
elsewhere.

So then the kingdom will get off to a start with only good people for its
citizens. But down at the end, there will be a rebellion (Rev 20:7-9). Who
are those people? They will be the good folks' posterity, born in the kingdom
rather than brought into it like their ancestors; which goes to show that
good folks don't always produce good offspring.

Eze 39:1 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
Eze 39:2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
Eze 39:3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
Eze 39:4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
Eze 39:5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
Eze 39:6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Eze 39:7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
Eze 39:8 Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.
Eze 39:9 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:
Eze 39:10 So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.
Eze 39:11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.
Eze 39:12 And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land.
Eze 39:13 Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD.
Eze 39:14 And they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search.

What in scripture identifies this as the beginning of the 7th millennial?
Fair question. I suppose the timing of these events could be anytime between now and 2044/2045 (the end of the 120th Jubillee cycle). I associate the beginning of cleansing the earth with these events. I remember stories after Hurricane Katrina. One that comes to mind was a police officer who was on duty to collect dead bodies. Surely a very gruesome task. He was reaching for a body in a body of water in a canal and when he turned the body face up, it was his wife!! I think the end of days are going to be very gruesome and the clean up is a necessary task.

Doesn't verse 20 speak of the 2nd death and doesn't verse 21 speak of Jesus?

Isa 66:22-24 . . From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to
another, all mankind will come and bow down before me-- speaks the Lord.
And they will go out and look upon the dead bodies of those who rebelled
against Me: their worm will not die, nor will their fire be quenched, and they
will be loathsome to all mankind.

That rather ghastly scene depicts a sort of tourist attraction similar to the La
Brea Tar Pits museum in Los Angeles where the remains of prehistoric
creatures, excavated from ancient asphalt deposits, are on display.

A worm that thrives in brimstone is pretty amazing, but not unreasonable.
The 4 inch Pompeii worm lives in sea water temperatures of 176°
Fahrenheit; hot enough to kill salmonella and sanitize an egg. So I guess if
God could create a worm like the Pompeii, it shouldn't be too difficult for Him
to create worms that like it even warmer.
