this a blanket statement sorry.

You can say Jesus is God when Jesus is not God the father.

You can't put The authority of Jesus higher than the father.
You can't condem a believer in Jesus for believing Jesus is not God.

The trinity is something that no-one can fully grasp.

And not many people, come to realise Jesus is God, unless there told.

And when there told they often find it hard to believe.

Because why.

Because they've only ever known him as the son the of God and there saviour.

The saviour of the world.

And you can't say by not accepting Jesus is God you are condemned, because there is no condemnation for those in Christ.

Plus God father still loved all his children who not knew Christ in the old testament.

Baptism says you must confess Jesus is lord.

As I've allready shown you the word lord can mean God or lord or master.

so what your doing is still bigotry for condemning va,

are we clear.

Va and I had a lovely conversation in private, I hope you don't mind me mentioning that brother. While still have our same ideas, we have lots in common. I don't know who all this "discussion" here benefits. I have no doubt that CC was started with the best of intentions. But most here, if we took a poll, my guess most have their minds made up and been on the road for many years. I doubt there are many new believers here and they certainly aren't the majority. So all we're doing is arguing the same points till Jesus comes. So really who does any of this benefit?

a benefit of choice of love being an option of yes or no.

Knowing Who God really is and what he's about.

Accounting for every word and holding onto the value of sacred life, a holy act available for all people.

All of which being discussed without prejudice. 😊

The problem is the trinity for me.
I struggle to believe there is God the son God The father God the holy spirit.
It's one God to me.
God is One within the Trinity. Three Personal expressions of Himself within the Godhead.

It feels like scripture is saying the word was with God in the begining, and the
word manifested into spirit, in Mary, who gave birth to a son. Who became Jesus.

In other words there was no Jesus in the beginning, but there was only the father and the word.
Jesus is the Word. You seem to be missing links. Hopefully you will find them soon.

Mmm do you think that happens here? Maybe it's just me and where my head is right now.

in an ideal world this would be doable.

But since there's a load of swine flu regarding italics, then the flying pigs will always fly with 3 stripes.
?
Just need the same Bible version thats all, and most KJVs will have the extra english words in italics and also words of Christ in red.

It isnt swine flu its just the language in translation

Hebrew has always been a very discrete language, every word counts, but English can be flowery and some translators can get carried away with all the variations and nuances of English, but the beauty of English is that is adaptable and it has lots of loan words from other langauges especially for the nouns but sometimes for verbs

For example we dont say repent and be immersed, or submerged, or dipped or washed or bathed or drowned...we say baptised because thats the greek word for it in the new testament. Its become a very specific verb.

anyway, I think ppl arguing over the trinity (three in one) because the word TRINITY isnt in the Bible may have to look up words in the dictionary to find the meaning. And then read the examples given in the Bible. Not get hung up over just one word they unfamiliar with

I had a girl at school called Trinity...she was quite an advanced reader actually. SHe was always borrowing books
I dont know if she was a triplet or had two other sisters though....she could have been an only child...?

One of my aunties every just calls her 'number three' lol

The irish couldnt really grasp the trinity until St Patrick sort of explained it by showing them a shamrock ..it has three leaflets (not a four leaf clover)

Not saying God is represented by a shamrock but the concept of who God is and the way He works

Others say God is this way the Father has the son inside Him and the Holy Spirit joins them together ?..and they are One

Ok like most people understand marriage is two people becoming one right? Or if you pregnant, theres two people in one body...though the spirit would be present in both of them.

This might be how I explain it to a child.

You cant explain the resurrection as 'pigs might fly' thats misrepresnting who Jesus is. We know Jesus couldnt do anything without the Holy Spirit empowering Him...but then we have the opposite thinkers who try and deny that Jesus came in the flesh which is probably a lot worse than those insisting that Jesus is God and actually forgetting His humanity.

seriously consider what you have just thought,

Firstly I used the term pigs might fly in regards
To every one singing out of the same hymnbook, which was totally nothing to do with the trinity, or the importance of Jesus.

You said Jesus had to be empowered by the holy spirit before he could do anything.

Which makes suggestion Jesus was born a type of Adam.

Also it makes Suggestion Jesus may not of known he was God,

Where does that leave us.

The word that was with God manifested it's self in to Flesh like with Adam.

But what Flesh.

Flesh of both mind body and soul.

Jesus had to be born a man like Adam in order for sin to be conquered.

God had to take of immortality for Sin to be beaten.

All tho Does Scripture actually say Jesus was holy spirit filled befor his crucifixion.

Well it's the first I've heard trinity is not in the bible or Jesus was born a second Adam.

So now I'm more confused than ever.

Am I to believe Jesus conquered sin without being holy spirit indwelled throughout his time on earth

Isaiah 9:6 declares that the child born to the virrgin would be called Everlasting Father, Ruler of peace, comforter, counselor, God Almighty, and more. This says to my heart that God will be what He will be, and by faith, I do not need toquesstion this truth, but I do believe it.
The word, Trinity, does not appear in the Word, nor is it necessary. Faith settles all. God bless you and all here, amen.
This makes more sense to me than anything I've heard.

But how do we make sense of Jesus being with God in the beginning but only in word form.

Jesus, the man exist. He has a glorified Body, Yet the Spirit of Christ has always been with the Father from the beginning.

Jesus literally ascended and will return in body form, and we will look upon his piercings. Just as Peter and John and James did.
In what form has the spirit of Christ been with God from the beginning ?.

As a distinct person or in the form of word ?.

We know the spirit is in the word.

Therefore the word must be in the spirit.

So why was Jesus the man not holy spirit filled or was he ?.

i am tired of the trinity debate, actually. there's ways to prove and disprove and then that requires how one chooses to see it. but let's just use the TERM GOD:

GOD, sent His Holy Spirit who some way / not sexual planted the SEED that is the WORD made Flesh.

Jesus, the WORD, is born with the Holy Spirit and the Father already inside Him.

He uses the Holy Spirit to Cast out Demons [story of Blaspheming the Holy Spirit in Matthew], maybe Miracles too, but the Father is doing the talking for Him [Father living inside Jesus doing the Works - John 14], while on His Throne in Heaven.

so, when we think about ALL of that ^

then we look at the Old Testament and we see the WORD as Elohim, YHWH, MOST HIGH GOD, LORD, Yahweh, I AM TO BE....we are seeing God working same way as we see in Old Testament.

just by NAMES only : WORD, Elohim, YHWH, MOST HIGH GOD, LORD, Yahweh, I AM TO BE, MESSIAH, Father, Holy Spirit < looks like lots of godsssssssssssssssssssssssssssss...but we know it is ONLY ONE GOD.

so, if someone wants to believe God is ONE but can be ALL of These Others, i don't see the real issue any more.

I don't see why you would be tired of talking about the trinity, maybe that's an exaggeration on your part, If Jesus was filled with the holy spirit from birth then how did his flesh conquer sin.

Or how could Have Jesus been a second Adam.

Because that would mean Adam was born with the holy spirit and Christians could lose there salvation.

Christians have the holy spirit but there flesh can't conquer sin.

if Matthew 28:19 NAME of Father-Son-Holy Spirit...is the SAME ONE NAME
and if WORD, Elohim, YHWH, MOST HIGH GOD, LORD, Yahweh, I AM TO BE, MESSIAH...is Preincarnate Jesus...so ALL of THESE have ONE SAME NAME

and that means if WORD, Elohim, YHWH, MOST HIGH GOD, LORD, Yahweh, I AM TO BE, MESSIAH + Father-Son-Holy Spirit = ALL HAVE THE SAME ONE NAME

that means the ONE NAME is GOD!

so, it's the SAME!

Jesus is the GREAT GOD [love how Paul put it] of the ENTIRE BIBLE!

just saying the actual word 'trinity' is not in the Bible just like the word 'monopoly' isnt in the Bible.

Jesus had the holy spirit from conception (just like John his cousin) but he was also flesh and blood like us though He came from heaven...He was Gods son though Joseph was actually his earthly father, Jesus had a Heavenly Father. Jesus was born to Mary...Adam was not born he was created from the dust of the earth

you can read
1 Corinthians 15-49

We dont really call God the Father Jesus senior and God the son Jesus junior though if they have the same name, those who are born again call him Abba meaning Father

We can call Jesus Lord though. Though not everyone who says Lord Lord is saved...born again christians have a more famlial relationship with Jesus than a transactional one

Jesus had to die..that was his sacrifice. His blood paid for OUR sins the sins of all mankind. If you recall he was cruficifed, flogged and his heart was pierced....
