So, in your belief system... it's all good, Christians can engage in all the sin they want because all their future sins are forgiven?

Why not become a drug trafficker so you'll have mo money to spend on spreading the gospel? Maybe become a pornographer? What about becoming a pimp? You could make lots of money being a hit man too!

Is there any sin Christians should refrain from... or is it all good and we can sin all we want and get all jiggy with it??? View attachment 258243

Yeah, believing Christians future sins are already forgiven making it possible for Christians to sin all the want and still be saved... is pretty stupid, so you are right about that homie!

It is the work of God we believe.

All we do by faith is chose to recieve his Gift..

It’s like a person who is walking through a field of serpents and getting bit and seeing people die around them. God had Moses put a serpent on a pole. And said whoever looks will live, whoever does not will die.

The person who looked did not earn his or her salvation. They did not save themselves. They trusted in God to save them.

in Like manner as Jesus said in John 3. Just as Moses raised that serpent. So too must the son of man be lifted up. So whoever believed will not die but live forever.

They did nto save themselves. They did nto work to be saved, God did the work and saved them.

For we have been saved by Grace (Gods Riches At Christ’s Expense) not by works of righteousness which we have done, but by his mercy, THROUGH faith in Trusting God and having the assurance God will do what he promiseD
A work is something we do. A choice is something we do. Faith is given to us...it is the revelation of the Son by the Father as recorded in Matthew 16...when we believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. This is the rock upon which Jesus builds His church. It is a supernatural revelation by the Father of the Son to all who believe.
There is a call given for all to respond to the gospel. Those whom the Spirit quickens by the Word always respond in faith.

my OSAS beliefs are, we only need to be Saved once.
after that, we sin, we must repent.
the Lord's Prayer is a Daily Prayer that includes seeking forgiveness.
so, even Jesus is saying, ask for forgiveness of your sins.
^
that is how you ABIDE or REMAIN in God!
that's why it is our responsibility to ASK for forgiveness.

So... WHEN do we grow up and quit acting like babies and sin everyday in thought word and deed???

So many claim this is not possible... as though they can bust out in to sinful behavior at any given moment or something laughing.gif

hopefully, we're striving to be like Jesus.
but, we are going to make a lot of mistakes along the way.
because, none of us, remove self and flesh far enough away so it is ONLY GOD reflecting through us.
so, asking Forgiveness, is a Christians best friend.

if that is what you took effort to find, you do so to argue.

that's not my intentions at all.

you just want to fight.

i will add, because this thread, is perfect for it.
a Christian could physically beat down another stupid Christian and be forgiven.

almost seems worth it.
That post was not even worth responding too.

We will be confronted by God at some point in our life and have to make a decision,

He who believes is not condemned

He who says no (does not believe is condemned already

Once the condemnation is removed through justification. The person is then born again (quickened) and this new life is forever. (Eternal life)

one is not born again before they have faith. They would be born again in sin

Read Matthew 16. This is exactly what Jesus says is true of Peter.
Sorry my friend

In matt 16 Jesus told peter God revealed it to him, He did not say the Father caused this knowledge through faith.

Once again, He who BELIEVES (Has faith) Will Nevr perish, but has eternal life.

Jesus told Nicodemus this is HOW we ar born again.

God brings us to knowledge by showing us the truth, and we chose what to do with this truth

Why? Have you read romans 1? Or how about John 3?

Again, this is thinking backwards. They think they are better than me, and do not Need saved.

And when you see them lying in the shop doorway begging, mind smashed by drugs you would need to be SUPER human not to say "they have made their bed now they must lie in it ....

I chose to follow Jesus"

Whatever truth there is in that it is certainly what people think Christians believe, they believe Christians think they are better than everybody else.

You say "if I hadn't have chosen Jesus [of my own freewill I'd be like him"
I say "there but for God's grace and mercy go I"
I never said any such thing. You’re not listening. Stop thinking calvin vs arminian.. Thats the trouble with many of these discussions. The arminian thinks one thing, the calvinist thinks another. And the people in the middle are never understood.[/QUOTE]

you are not in the middle, you wouldn't be opposing so hard. You say you have freewill, stop sinning for a week, lay down and die and then take up your life again.

... you've got freewill it should be a walk in the park.

Calvin didn't say that I said it. You are right we have different minds.

So you believe there is no safety abiding in Jesus Christ?

Jesus taught this in John 15.... those that abide IN Him are safe, those not abiding IN Him are cut off.

It's not smart to claim the teachings of Jesus are false!

Ezekiel 18:20
The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father

God is not holding us responsible for Adam's sin.

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

God is hold us responsible for our own sin, not Adam's sin.
You are not abiding in Christ, you are trusting to your own faithfulness ... and failing.

I am no longer in Adam I am in Christ, God sees me in HIS righteousness.

Nothing there I disagree with. And we are called to receive the salvation provided by God through the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. But we aren't asked to make a choice. We are commanded to believe, or be baptized, or repent, etc.
It's not that we don't make choices; we do. But we always make those choices based on what we believe. If you change what someone believes, you have changed the the choices they will make.
When God grants faith, He changes our responses towards Him. Before an individual is saved, they do not seek after God. Once they are saved, they run after Him. This is why when asked what the work of God is Jesus replied the work of God is to believe.

He makes an accurate confession of the Lord Jesus Christ that was revealed by the Father Himself. Further, Jesus goes on to say that in this manner He will build His church. Salvation is the means by which we are placed into Christ, into His body, into His church. All part of being born again.

It doesn't matter what God tells you, you will oppose it.

If He says you have not chosen Me but I chose you or if He says He chose you in Christ before the world began.
or if He says no man can come to Me unless the Father draw him. Or if He says you are born again not by the will of the flesh but by the will of God.

You will oppose it.

To me these are crown jewels, they fill me with intense joy.

Yes we do

You somehow think you’re special. So special that God vhose you and allowed you to believe. While your neighbor is so un special. God would not even give them a chance.

I think I am worthless. Guilty, Unredeemable. Have nothing to offer God. So worthless am I thatall I was able to do was call out to God for his mercy.

He had to save me. I could not save myself
