lol, this is not my first go around.

If you can not achieve it, how can you lose it?

So God can fail. It is not us that fails. But God will take hi salvation from us even though we could never achieve it anyway?

Paul said we are saved BY GRACE through faith. Not of ourselves it is the gift of God, not of work lest anyone should boast

for WE (those saved by Grace) are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

please not the word should is not there. It says we will actively walk in them..

before you try to tell someone they do not know something, you should make sure you know something first.
you only get Saved ONE TIME, so, your point makes no sense

we're not under the LAW.
Aninias and his wife Sinned by creating the idea of deception, then by lying to the Spirit of the Lord, and both physically and spiritually died immediately.
^
that was seriously Grieving the Holy Spirit.
I never said we were under law

I said according to the law. How many sins could we commit before we were guilty.

why are you so afraid to answer? Is it becuse it will destroy your View?

you're still guilty of the sins you commit now, that's why Jesus said to ASK for FORGIVENESS EVERY SINGLE DAY.

John says to Confess them to God.

so John is backing Jesus.

Gods requirment is perfection

you will never meet that requirment, so every minute of every day your guilty.

Until you become poor in spirit and realise this, You will never repent.

The Security Of The Believer

There is only security when one Abides IN Christ according to Jesus (see John 15)

1 John 3:6
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not

1 Corinthians 15:34
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

He that sins... is of the devil...

1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil

John 8:34
Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

1 John 2:4
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 1:6
if we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

There is security when one is IN CHRIST. When an individual is saved, they are baptized by the Spirit into Christ...1 Corinthians 12:13. In Christ, there is no longer any condemnation...Romans 8:1.

The above is independent of what it means to abide in Christ. They deal with salvation. Abiding in Christ comes subsequent to salvation, and is the means by which we appropriate the life of Christ in us.

The first deal with salvation. The latter, how we live our utmost to His highest.

you made my case for me

you only Bert saved once,

your either saved or not saved there is no in between
I never argued that we are not Saved one time.
you made my case for me

you only Bert saved once,

your either saved or not saved there is no in between
but even if you're cut off, you can always do as Jesus and John command, ask for Forgiveness.

being restored, doesn't mean being saved again.
it means, being restored to your former position on the Vine.

the funny thing is, i present Scripture and i am using Scholar and Theologian meanings.
but as for you, you're answering straight out from the Calvin Doctrine.

i am, for debating purposes, using a conglomerate of combined viewpoints that happen to agree with one another.
and you are using the words of John Calvin.

and on several topics, none of the scholars and theologians, think Calvin understands the Word of God [by never siding with his views]

and then you have the nerve to tell me to become poor in spirit, while it's You, the experts don't believe has a clue.

so, maybe it is You, who should [from your own words] Until you become poor in spirit and realise this, You will never repent.

1John 2

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate before the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

1John 3
Little children, let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Christ is righteous.

1John 5
We know that anyone born of God does not keep on sinning; the One who was born of God protects* him, and the evil one cannot touch him.
*to watch over, to guard

since the Apostles met Jesus in Person, and Paul met Him in another type of way, and they were Specifically Hand-Picked by God Himself, i don't think they sinned like we do today.
i think they had many days where they did not get tripped up, like we can so easily in this current world we live in.

so, these Verses, show an example of people who we walking so Close to God, they were not in a constant battle with sin.

so, if we take that into factor, it makes all Verses have a different view to them.

these people are our Example, because, they overcame the need to sin all the time. i am not saying they never sinned, but, i doubt they sinned anywhere close to what we do today.

so, these Verses, indicate People, who are walking much better with God than we have found the same way to Walk with God.

that's why these doctrines, even from 400 years ago, show us a time where things were less tempting than we have it today.

example:
pornography.

i doubt that was a real temptation back then ...but today...almost 1/3 of all men in the Church have issue with it.

so, i think, we should look at these Verses in the context and the TIME of how life was, when these were written.

because today, it's much worse.

I don't know. Was prostitution as illegal then as it is today? I had the impression that it was a common everyday vocation.

The real fact about my point is, they were already conditioned to not sin, not commit 613 sins.

So. It would be much easier to continue that.

But for Gentiles, sinning grievously was a normal thing and stopping would be more difficult than a Jew who lives not to ever sin.

They are writing these things from a more perfect understanding and viewpoint than we could ever know.

So, making hard core Doctrines for modern day issues will never match up.

They were preaching to people already practicing not to sin and knew these people could do as they were.

But had they ever met us, they might word things a bit differently.
