Because I trust people to tell the truth especially those of a religious persuasion.
That just says it all dunnit?!

So if mosaic priests saw peeps bowing down to idols and the people said they were not really bowing down to the idol then they would be let off? Is there anything in scripture that shows that this consideration would be taken into account?

I've already told you that we don't bow to the statues. But the main point is they worshiped the calf, we don't worship our statues or Crucifixes. The images are there to turn the mind to God and the holy things of faith not to act as an intermediary through which God is worshiped which is what the calf was used for.
If its being used to turn your mind to God then its an intermediary, just like the golden calf.

IDOLATRY.

what does where he live have to do with whether the orthodox church is from God or not? If he lives in one place the EO is from God if not the EO is not. I don't get this line of questioning. Who cares where he lives. This is the internet you don't let people know where you live!
It speaks to his honesty. An honest man will not conceal his identity or nationality. An honest man will not equivocate or tell an untruth. An honest man may sin and fall short of the glory of God, and fail to live fully and may make some mistakes. But he will be forgiven by God if God wills to have mercy on him.
And God wills all men to be saved.
People don't have to give their exact location, but if I give my name and city and country, it isn't giving my exact location.
Why do people act like they are spies instead of Christians who have nothing to fear except God?

Protestants like Strangelove make an IDOL out of the BIBLE and engage in the IDOLATRY of BIBLIOLATRY according to PRIVATE INTERPRETATION and SELF-FEELING (SELF-ESTEEM).

It seems I have to bump Scott every day. Maybe he's consulting the learned elders for an answer?

Excerpt from the EOC liturgy:

Open unto us the door of thy tenderheartedness, OBlessed Theotokos; in
that we have hoped in thee, may we not perish, butthrough thee be
delivered from adversities, for thou art the salvationof the generation
of Christians.

Then they approach the icon of Christ and kiss it, saying:
Thine immaculate icon do we worship, O Good One,asking pardon of our offenses, O Christ God; thou wast pleased of thy goodwill to ascend the
Cross in the flesh, to deliver those whom thou hadstfashioned from
bondage to the enemy. Wherefore, in thanksgiving, we cryout to thee,
with joy hast thou filled all things, O our Savior, havingcome to save
the world.
Then they kiss the iconof the Theotokos, saying the troparion:
A fountain of tenderness art thou, O Theotokos; makeus worthy of
compassion. Look upon the people who have sinned; show thypower as ever,
for hoping in thee, we cry out to thee, Hail, as once didGabriel, Chief
Captain of the Bodiless Ones.

Any religious group that relies on man made tradition that nullifies Gods Word is Pharisaical.

Authoritarian hierarchical priestly system
Vain repetitions
Magic/sorcery (kabbalah)
Priestly robes match pharisee garb almost identitically.
Traditions nullify Gods law.
Idolatry
Necromancy/consulting spirits.

I'll be back later Scott.
So now, Strangelove, you're from "Cape Verde". Are you trying to be like God, "omnipresent" (in every nation), or "Nowhere man", sitting in his nowhere land?
You really have a problem telling the truth about your nationality and country of origin. It really does tell all of us that you are a disingenuous, dishonest person. God bless you.
If you can't even tell the truth about your nation, how can you tell us truth about the word of God? All you can do is say, "cult cult" like some obsessed person.

Dear Strangelove
Anglican wedding ceremony, "With my body, I thee worship, and with all my worldly gifts, I thee endow ..." What are you saying, Strangelove. You still haven't proved that you don't worship the Bible! If you can't prove that you don't worship the Bible, how can I prove that I don't worship icons? It is impossible to prove a negative. The word worship is used in an older sense of "venerate", not adore. In England, the Judges are called "Your Worship". You have to understand words in context.
God bless you. In Erie PA Scott R. Harrington
PS What were you saying, Strangelovey?
Which country will you move to tomorrow? Tell me when you get to China. Remember, if you say the wrong thing, you'll be accountable to the Chinese authorities. See how patriotism does matter. Would you rather be in China?
Or Saudi Arabia, where they would arrest you for just having a Bible?

Scott....your fallback ploy of attacking random protestant denominations does not work on me. I'm no denomination. This still doesnt stop the EO sect from worshipping icons.

I dont have a peice of documentation in my liturgy that says "thine immaculate bible do I worship".
I dont kiss the bible or bow down to it, or venerate it.
I only perceive Gods WORD as Holy. Not the paper or binding or leather.

You, on the other hand venerate inanimate objects and say they are holy. Your liturgy even says you worship the icon. It says it.

The word worship is used in an older sense of "venerate", not adore. In England, the Judges are called "Your Worship". You have to understand words in context.
Oh I understand the word and venerate and worship means the same thing. ITS IDOLATRY. You are displaying more pharisaical characteristic by trying to twist terms from one thing to mean another. Typical lawyers spiel, straight from the talmud.

Do you worship the icon Scotty? Do you think some bones are holy?

Nothing is Holy but God!

What is the false accusation?
EOC is a pharisaical rabbinic temple cult; that's a false accusation. Only the rabbis of Judaism are rabbinic Jews. Jews who believe in Christ are Christians. Not followers of the rabbis.
The temple was destroyed long ago, so it is impossible for the Church to be a temple cult. The EOC does not sacrifice animals in a temple in Jerusalem, or in a temple or any other holy building anywhere.
Christ is the sole sacrifice to take away our sins as repentant sinners.

Scott, here's the best answer to him.

you don't know what Reformed believe since you aren't one.
maybe i'm not your stereotypical Reformed believer Scott.

many of us aren't.
Just change "Reformed" to the name of EO or whatever, and you're done. He can't argue with Zone. And then put him on ignore, like I did. It's not worth the aggravation.

You said, "I think ...." verse so and so in the Bible means "so and so." How do you KNOW what it means?
The full Kingdom of God is in heaven, and hasn't arrived on earth yet. Isn't that why we pray, "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven?"
If the Kingdom of God were here completely now, there would be no sin.
The members of the Orthodox Church are believers in the Kingdom of God, because the Kingdom of God begins in the Church Christ founded.
Outside of the One Church is heresy and schism and false teaching. And antinomianism. I know. When I had not heard of the Orthodox Church, I had sinned many sins as a Lutheran and a Pentecostal. Since I heard of Orthodoxy, I have repented, and I struggle to go and no more sin. I still seek forgiveness for the sins I have committed since I heard of the Orthodox Church.
God has forgiven me. I'll be forgiven more if I do what God requires of me.
God bless you.
It's wrong to keep changing your nationality and flag. It's just plain stupid!

Dear friend,
You're acting and behaving like a prejudiced bigot if you imply or think that I as a Russian Orthodox Christian believe in any conspiracy theory or in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. I do not. Russian Orthodox Christians aren't bigots. You dismiss what you haven't studied. I've studied Reformed Calvinism and Russian Orthodoxy, and Russian Orthodoxy convinced me it's true, and Calvinism is false and heretical. John 15:26 proves Calvinism is false, as Calvin said "and the Son" (Filioque), and the Calvinist Westminster Confession of Faith of 1647 AD says "who proceeds from the Father and Son", or words that are equivalent to those words. God bless you.

Dear Strangelove. Oh really? What about "the royal priesthood, and the holy nation" in the NT? What about the Virgin Mother of God, who is called blessed among women by Saint Elisabeth?
If Mary is blessed, she is holy, too. Is not Saint Peter holy? Christ called him blessed. If Peter is blessed, he is holy, because CHRIST blessed Peter and made him holy.
You are illogical. God bless you.

Heh. Heh heh heh heh heh.

I wasn't referring to YOU but to Strangelove and a couple others.

But I figured it was futile to go there since too many people seem to think the Protocols are real and you can't convince them otherwise, so I edited the last part out. Look here to see what I mean.

Sorry if I thought wrongly you meant anything bigoted. But seriously, how do YOU know that Strangelove believes in the Protocols, or in conspiracy of theories? And what couple of others do you suspect of this? I'm sorry if you have suspicions of others. Are they based on anything true? I'm sorry I suspected you of bigotry forgive me please. You did make it sound like you were saying something about me. Maybe it's just my paranoia kicking in. Sorry.

Well ...

England is controlled by edomite pharisees and their agenda is BRITISH ISRAEL and a kingdom of God on Earth in the name of Christ.

See Red Shield.
If its Masonic then its Jewish (Talmudic).

Judaism and Freemasonry. Enter the Noachites.
These sound like conspiracies. And when someone said that the inside job conspiracy for 9/11 was debunked, Strangelove replied with:

Your debunking sources have been debunked.

LINK : Popular Mechanics' Assault on 9/11 Truth

But hey....Catholics taking the word of peeps in authority positions without question? Aint nuttin new.
And his position on the Protocols? When someone said ...

Ahh, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a very well known FAKE.
His response?

Whats the difference if their fake or real?

They are being followed to the letter.
It reminded me of what happened when it was discovered that those papers Dan Rather managed to get slamming Bush a decade-ish ago were forgeries. You had liberals screaming "Who cares if they're fake, they're still real!"
