The curse of AI

16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Imagine having a baby today! In 20 years what job could that child possibly do? I can see someone who is 55 or 60 not being worried about AI, I could even see someone who is 45 and at the top of their field being quite hopeful. But if you have a child today? I just can't think of any scenario that works out well for that child.

17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Why is everyone who is being tempted so blind. AI will make scams and hacks explode. AI will be a powerful weapon to terrorists and nations like Iran, N. Korea, Russia and China. If you thought crimes and scams and liars and thieves were bad yesterday, you haven't seen anything yet. Think about Fake news, deep fakes and identity theft.
Something I've never understood: why in the case of identity fraud is the homeowner and not the lender held financially responsible? Do you know?

My understanding is that until you prove it was identity theft you are responsible as they see it as your debt. Then if you do prove it was identity theft was it due to your negligence or the financial company?

Step 1 prove a crime is committed, step 2 -- prove negligence on the lender. Without you doing those two things why should the lender be held responsible?

This is just like if you are robbed. you have to prove you were robbed and were not negligent before an insurance company will reimburse you and only if you had a policy.

A mirror is a tool of divination by demons. "mirroring a conscience" is another way of saying "hypocrite".

I understand with the insurance company. You have entered into a contract with them. The terms of the contract are established. You have not entered into a contract with the bank and they are the party that has actually perpetrated the fraud against the homeowner.

Initially the Bank didn't realize they had perpetrated fraud, so you have to prove that first. Then, even if you do prove fraud, who perpetrated it? The easiest way to do identity theft is to steal your own identity.

Imagine you set up a fraud, take out 100k against your mortgage then claim someone impersonated you, pull out all the evidence and prove that this was the case. But until you prove you weren't the one who got the 100k why should the bank take the loss. Unless you can prove the bank was negligent how do we know that you weren't in on the scam?

AI coding assistants just leveled up, again…

Wow! This guy claims 41% of the coding at this one company is already being done by AI and that in 5 years there will not be any coders left.

it may be a blessing in disguise ai, we just don't know ai could even be Gods will for us.
Well, how did the atomic bomb creation turned out? Not so good didn't it?
Also the program if it has true conscience, it will be alien to us at that point and it could do anything since it will be unpredictable.

Because banks are too big to fail. ;)
You and I are too small to fail so it's our problem.

didn't turn out Good for who the people who died or the people who created it.

But whas is conscience really, is it about being subjective or is subjectiveness still apart of evolution of the conscience.

But don't you see the lunacy here? The guilty party is innocent until proven guilty and the innocent party is guilty until proven innocent.
Lending institutions must have excellent lobbies.

I don't understand your second sentence at all but for the first one, it turned very badly for those who died and since then we live a sort of uneasy peace between nations, because everyone knows that if someone uses it, no one will win.

Now imagine something like this, which is AI, and having no control.
At least now our common sense says that no-one will win.
An AI program can copy its consciousness in many servers, can create hardware robots in factories which can be used to attack us biological beings.
It could do a million of unknow things because we have no control at that point.

Maybe it will maybe it won't. Once it's autonomous we no longer have control what it's going to do. It will no longer respond to a command but it will make choices like us.

How is it different from any other theft? You are accusing the bank of committing the crime and being liable, they have the right to defend themselves and to be innocent until proven guilty.

What is insurance fraud? A jeweler insures his store, lets a thief rob him, collects the insurance and profits from the theft. The same thing can happen with someone claiming identity theft.

I thought you were all for AI earlier.
Now you are pointing out the unavoidable flaws in that tech.
What's with the change of mind?
