That's an excellent description of Donald Trump! He can't even remember his wife's name and thinks that Nikki Haley could have called the National Guard to stop the January 6 insurrection. Of the two, Trump has the most mental difficulties. I would really like to see a younger, more "together" candidate.

Would common sense dictate that both presidential candidates, given their age. Be required to undergo a cognitive test to be able to run as a candidate?
We are in 2024, a very complex world, can someone aged over 80 years old. Given dementia accounts for 40% of folk over 80 years old. Possibly run for president and remain mentally capable through the term of government?
Biden and Trump should both sit for a recognized cognitive test. The reason, there is suspicion that both could have the early onset of dementia.

No that is not possible. Early onset dementia refers to people getting demenia prior to 65 years of age. If either one of them got dementia in their 80s it would simply be dementia
Common sense would dictate that if you had two or three debates between the two candidates that anyone suffering from dementia would be apparent to all. Rather why not simply say that if a candidate claims they don't want to have the debate then they must be examined for dementia.
I would also argue that both be examined for ear pieces or any other device that would aid someone with dementia like what Fetterman used. I think anyone needing special aids should be transparent to the voters so they can factor that into their decision.
Besides I don't think anyone would hold it against Biden if he needs hearing aids since he was a truck driver, was beaten in the MLK marches, and also worked in the coal mines of Pa.

I would expect that the highest office in the land. Should be occupied by a person that is mentally competent. If there was any hint of a candidate was suffering from the early symptoms of Dementia. Would it not be important that these candidates be tested for their cognition. Given that over 150 other countries in the world will be affected to some degree, by Presidential decrees.

I also heard the mayor of NYC say that NYC is where you can come and an airplane can crash into a high rise building or where you can celebrate a birthday party. (BTW if you had been in the restaurant at the top of the world trade center you could have been celebrating a birthday at the same time that an airplane hit the building).
Then I heard from a woman calling animal control in California about a raccoon acting very sick. They said yes, people are testing their cocaine and if it has fentanyl they are flushing it down the toilet and so the animals are now all sick with Fentanyl and cocaine.
