When you get reborn, your spirit is awakened with in you, and simultaneous to that, the Spirit of God/ The Holy Spirit indwells your spirit. When you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, you are immersed into the Spirit of God and filled with power from on high.

Scripture clearly teaches that these are separate events, that sometime happen simultaneously, and sometimes do not.

Baptism with the Holy Spirit

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search

Baptism with the Holy Spirit (or Baptism in the Holy Spirit) in Christian theology is a term describing baptism (i.e. washing, immersion, or plunge) in or with the Spirit of God.[1][2] While the phrase "baptism with the Holy Spirit" is found in the New Testament and all Christian traditions accept it as a theological concept, each has interpreted it in a way consistent with their own beliefs on ecclesiology and Christian initiation.[3] One view holds that the term refers only to the "once-for-all" event for the whole Church described in the second chapter of the Book of Acts[4] while another view holds that the term also refers to an experience of the individual believer distinct from salvation and initiation into the Church.[5]

Before the emergence of the holiness movement in the mid 19th century and Pentecostalism in the early 20th century, most denominations believed that Christians received the baptism with the Holy Spirit either upon conversion and regeneration [5] or through rites of Christian initiation.

Since the growth and spread of Pentecostal and charismatic churches, however, the belief that the baptism with the Holy Spirit is an experience distinct from regeneration has come into increasing prominence.

Acts 8
12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

These in Samaria were saved and baptized with water before they were baptized in the Holy Spirit, proving the indwelling of the Holy Spirit at salvation and the baptism of salvation are two separate things.

Whether you ignore the truth, or how you will try to pervert it is of no significance. God's Word still remains true.

Moreover the disciples themselves were indwelt by the Holy Spirit and baptized by the Holy Spirit at separate times. Jesus breathed on them and commanded them to receive the Holy Spirit before His ascension (John 20:22), but they were not baptized with the Holy Spirit until t at least a week after His ascension at Pentecost (Acts 2:4)

Believe it or not Zones words cannot annul The words of God Himself.

Choose this day who you will believe. I choose to believe God.

you have ZERO understanding of Pentecost, and the events surrounding the foundation of the church.

naturally, since you foolishly are attempting to overthrow it and lay another by conjuring up a LATTER RAIN PENTECOST.

i hope The Lord brings you to your knees sooner...in case there's no later.

When will you get it. You are not God, I trust in Jesus, and believe the Bible, not you. So give it up.

Anyone that opposes scripture is wrong.

Let God be true and every man a liar.

You are the worse type of heretic, and will have to stand before God one day.

Hebrews 10
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Repent or perish.

Notice Zone's response for her to stop thinking she is God, and to stop trying to convert people from the truth to her lies.

You remind me of one of these little spoiled brats that gets upset when he's told he's done something wrong and goes off and pouts in the corner and when he gets older he shoots his mouth off and thinks he's being a man because of his unruly tongue.

And you remind me of that little cartoon dog that follows the big bull dog aroung telling him how cool he is. Well guess what God is God, not Zone, and God's word is truth whether you like it or not.

John 10
4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

You might follow to voice of a stranger (Zone in particular), but I will follow the voice of Christ, and Christ alone will I follow.

To all who have been offended.

Your scars reveal your past but do not have to predict your future. The redemptive quality of the Blood of Jesus not only forgives your sins but also heals and delivers you from past and present brokenness. Submit the shattered pieces of your broken heart to your loving Saviour; He will not make you as good as new but better than ever before. Then there are millions of other wounded warriors and hurting people in need of someone to Champion their cause. Once you triumph over the tormentors targeting you; you will be equipped and empowered to help them change their course toward Victory. Rise and be HEALED child of God; then minister His Glorious Power to others in search of Deliverance and Healing.

Remember the word of Christ
Matthew 18
6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

And what Paul writes in 2nd Corinthians
2nd Corinthians 1
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

Many Blessings mighty man/woman of God!!!

Isaiah 53:3-12

3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

this is not exegeting the 2 Thess 2 passages.
this is speculation and private interpretation.

and it's totally wrong. but that's not surprising.

i didn't expect you to have a scholarly answer.

~

what "original state" are justified christians "restored to"? pre-Adamic fall?
are you pelagian?

so, Jesus' life and death was for the purpose of perfecting men in the flesh, and in that way reconciling them to God, making them perfectly just and holy in themselves? this is how they have right standing before God?

so, you do not believe in the doctrine of imputation? substitutionary atonement? what is the role of the High Priest?

and....what did you experience when you received your Second Baptism? - tongues?
what evidence/experience did you have you'd received that 'power from High" you mentioned?

how do you know it was the "Second work of Grace"? did you take your FIRST baptism into Christ's body on faith or did you experience a feeling?
