“Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”
‭‭John‬ ‭18:37‬ ‭KJV‬‬

have you ever noticed how many Christian’s reject what Jesus said in the gospel and disagree and preach a different message from the lord ?

Not just different but actually requiring you to not believe what he said about the matter. And instead believing what they explain to you

Paul wrote a warning about 1900 years ago regarding how the true doctrine would be changed into fables because people wouldn’t want to abide in the true doctrine Jesus gave us

“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:1-4‬ ‭

and then Peter also witnessed the warning also telling us this would cause people to look at the truth the wrong way for people to speak evil against the way of truth

“But there were false prophets also among the people, ( in the ot it was part of Israel’s downfall false prophets ) even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

And many shall follow their pernicious ways; ( they’ll be popular and cause the truth to be disparaged ) by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭2:1-2‬ ‭

John says also

“Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: for he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”
‭‭2 John‬ ‭1:9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We’re told alot not to let anyone deceive us

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption;

but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:7-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:33-34‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We have so many warnings and so many affirmations and tbey were written almost two Millennia ago .

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

….Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:6-7, 23-24‬

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

To give life

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

To save our souls

“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:21-22‬

We should never conclude that faith means not hearing and believing and obeying the lords word .

faith means you heard what he said and believe its true , so of course your going to act upon it otherwise do you actually believe what he said ?

instead of saying “ I believe now I don’t need to act “ faith leads to the right action that God wills , not inaction and not the actions satan wills anymore

V rejecting his the Lords word entirely

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:48-50‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭21:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

a lot of teachers a lot are trying to pull us away from the things the lord taught in the gospel that he said to believe and follow after.

Many in the world out there claim to have a new and better way “revolutionary knowledge of how to be saved “ but in the end it will always be the same as when Jesus offered it only what he really said and preached are the things we should believe ( yes his apostles too they were teaching about what he had taught )

if we will go to Jesus and the gospel as if we need to learn about God and salvation, faith and eternal life , our own selves and who were meant to be who were meant to be like

He will make us able to walk in those things but we hear so many other things than the simple message Jesus preached and said would give everlasting life to believers.

“It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:45‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We can learn from Jesus our Lord too like all his disciples did

“And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: but one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:41-42‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He wants us all to hear what he’s preaching in the everlasting gospel because it will save us from death

consider letting Jesus be the first teacher you listen to and then measure what everyone else is saying against him

The development of the doctrine of the Trinity in early Christian theology was indeed influenced by the intellectual environment of the time, which included Greek philosophical thought among other factors. It's important to recognize that the formulation of Christian doctrines, including the Trinity, occurred in a context where various philosophical traditions provided the language and conceptual frameworks that theologians used to articulate their understanding of Christian revelation.

Terminology and Concepts: Early Christian theologians employed terms and concepts from Greek (PAGAN) philosophy to articulate the nature of God and the relationship between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. For example, terms like "ousia" (essence or substance) and "hypostasis" (person) were used to describe the unity and distinction within the Godhead. These terms helped theologians to communicate complex theological ideas in a precise and nuanced way.
Platonism and Neoplatonism: These philosophical traditions influenced early Christian thought in significant ways. The emphasis on the transcendence of the highest good and the hierarchical ordering of reality in Platonism and Neoplatonism provided a framework for early Christians to understand the relationship between the divine and the material world. Concepts of emanation and participation in Neoplatonism, for example, helped some theologians think about how the Son could be understood as emanating from the Father without division or separation.
Logos Theology: The concept of the Logos (Word) in John's Gospel was interpreted by early Christians in light of the Stoic and Platonic notion of the Logos as a rational principle organizing the cosmos. This helped Christians articulate how the Son (the Logos) relates to the Father and the world. Theologians like Justin Martyr and Philo of Alexandria, a Hellenistic Jewish philosopher, made significant contributions to Logos theology by integrating these philosophical notions with biblical texts.

Jesus spoke Aramaic, the common language of Judea in his time. The New Testament was written primarily in Greek, but the focus was on conveying Jewish religious ideas, not Greek philosophy. The New Testament authors aimed to fulfill and reinterpret the Hebrew Bible for a Jewish audience, not introduce foreign philosophical ideas. Jesus and the original writers of the New Testament did not explicitly use Greek philosophy in their teachings in the way we might think of a philosopher engaging directly with philosophical concepts or systems. Their primary context was the religious and cultural milieu of 1st-century Judaism, and their teachings are deeply rooted in the Jewish Scriptures and apocalyptic expectations of the time.

The New Testament writings, including the teachings of Jesus, emphasize the close relationship between the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. Passages such as the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19, where Jesus instructs His disciples to baptize "in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit," and the farewell discourse in the Gospel of John (chapters 14–16), where Jesus speaks extensively about the role of the Father and the Holy Spirit, highlight the early Christian understanding of a complex interrelationship between Father, Son, and Spirit. However, these writings do not articulate the doctrine of the Trinity in the explicit, formalized manner seen in later creedal formulations.

Colossians 2:8 "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."

This refers to a specific type of philosophy that is based on human tradition and the basic principles of the world, rather than on Christ. "Vain deceit" implies falsehood or empty deception—teachings that appear wise but lack true spiritual value.

"after the tradition of men" This phrase emphasizes that the philosophies in question are rooted in human traditions rather than divine revelation. They are man-made ideas (Greek philosophy the Trinity is based on) that may contradict or undermine the teachings of Christ.

Tertullian the father of the Trinity said this:

The simple, indeed (I will not call them unwise and unlearned), who always constitute the majority of believers, are startled at the dispensation (of the Three in One), on the very ground that their very Rule of Faith withdraws them from the world’s plurality of gods to the one only true God; not understanding that, although He is the one only God, He must yet be believed in with His own economy. The numerical order and distribution of the Trinity, they assume to be a division of the Unity.

He had the majority of the know Christian world opposed to his rather radical and greek borrowed philosophy.

Tertullian became a follower of Montanus, who claimed to be the last prophet before the end of the world and whom the institutional church deemed to be a heretic. Tertullian eventually began to praise celibacy and condemn marriage. In the end, he was excommunicated along with the rest of the Montanists.

I am researching and finding through historical facts and biblical understanding (to the best of my ability) this information. It makes me wonder about how we allowed greek (vain) philosophical thought and terms dictate how we interpret Scripture. When Scripture will always interpret itself. Its just some have to see the revelation that is already there.

on the other hand if anyone study and pray about Matthew mark Luke and John in thier bibles they would themselves understand the doctrine of the Father Son and Holy Ghost as one and things like this would make sense

“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.”

In Psalms 119:142, God's law is truth, and in John 14:6, Jesus is the embodiment of truth.

In Psalms 119:142, God's law is truth, and in John 14:6, Jesus is the embodiment of truth.
This isn’t the embodiment of Jesus

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus remit’s sin , This isn t like Jesus and the gospel it’s the opposite

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:10-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This isnt Jesus and the gospel

“Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

but some prefer a different view

“and not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:( you can’t either )

but their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; ( so is yours ) which vail is done away in Christ.

But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.”( need to re I’ve the vail and just look at jesus and what he had to say Moses can’t save you jesus can )
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:13-15‬ ‭

“Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:45‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This isn’t for us

“knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; .”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:9-11‬ ‭

Christian’s have a better covenant

Abiding in Truth requires continued revelation. We can only abide in Truth if we know what our Father is doing. This is why man lives by the words that continually come from the Father. Continued revelation requires that one be born again: they cannot receive revelation as an old creature of sin.

The foundation of our revelation is found in Christ and Christ is revealed in the New Testament. We may measure further revelation according to Him as He is presented in the scriptures. If we don't understand this we will quote from the Old Testament thinking that is current revelation. This error shows that the Truth is not in them; darkness remains on those who esteem Moses.

Personal revelation is also required. God speaks to His children Spirit to spirit. In this way He leads us into occupation, employment, relationships, and all manner of decisions. If God is not specific about these matters then the believer is free to choose according to the revelation he or she has already received. However, the more responsibility one has concerning Kingdom matters the less freedom a person has: when much is given much is required. Still, a slave to Christ is content in all their ways. His burdens are not heavy.

brother do you know anyone who lives up to or even really understands what’s already revealed in scripture ? If not why would we look for more revelation ?

Look for it? No. It's in our nature to receive it. His Spirit is our spirit. There is a one to one correlation.

And I am not talking about doctrine, I'm talking about being led by the Spirit of God. It's the children's bread because it is as common as bread on our table. This is not "high spirituality". It is common.

Noone on Earth brings new revelation, that isn't already revealed through the Word of God (Jesus Christ), which is fullest revelation given to man. Through the moving and operation of the Holy Ghost, I Pray what we say here (with Scriptural backing) brings the truth of these Revelations, truth by truth, or precept upon precept, to the heart of the hearer. Lay what we say before the feet of Jesus (Word of God) and compare, the Bible is Always truth, so if they don't match, we need to reevaluate our stance. What we say or do here will have lasting impact upon the believer and sinner alike. We most certainly have freedom of speech, but any true christian will weigh what they say against the Word of God and if they don't agree God is not in error, and we need to pray for understanding. Those that have more meat of the Word can help those who are struggling, if done with humility, peace and love. I don't mind a peaceful debate, but when we start to argue amongst each other that is not the Spirit of God. God Bless and Peace to you all. Some believers don't understand things because those things are not yet given to them. Paul even had a "message for the mature" he only gave to the mature. When you're mature you'll understand that simple dichotomies (right and wrong) are typically reserved for young children in the faith. Furthermore, the Bible is rich with the Spirit leading His people with no scriptural basis: decisions being made based upon the Spirit's leading vs reading it in the Bible. The Spirit, then, preserved these examples within the scriptures for our benefit. I'd be happy to expound upon this if you want to learn more.

John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Yeah I sort of don’t . Know what your meaning or “people” mean when they are saying “ led by the spirit “ I’ve read the verses but what I’m saying is what does a person saying that actually mean when they are saying it ?

What do you mean by it brother when you say “led by the spirit ? “

I know what I would mean when I said it but I’m wondering what you mean ?

you know Mormonism is based upon continuing revelation ? How can we know what’s actual revelation from God ? And what’s not actually revelation from God ?

have you ever noticed how many Christian’s reject what Jesus said in the gospel and disagree and preach a different message from the lord ?
Kindly explain what you mean. Why would actual Christians REJECT the words and teachings of Christ? Why would they "preach a different message from the Lord" unless they were heretics and apostates?

The most important truths are found in the Holy Bible -- which is in fact God's truth. Indeed Christ Himself is THE TRUTH and also THE WORD OF GOD. Above all Gospel truth is for the salvation of humanity.

But God has also established all natural laws, and these laws provide truths about the world and what is in it. God has also provided mathematics, which is always mathematical truth. 2+ 2 is always equal to 4.

Pontius Pilate was afraid of the truth, because had he held to the truth and refused to have Christ crucified, he would have lost his position in the Roman empire (or worse). On the other hand, the Roman centurion who observed the death of Christ and the earthquake which accompanied it spoke the truth. Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God. (Mt 27:54). Notice that he did not say "Truly this was the King of the Jews" but rather the truth about who Christ is in His deity. And "they feared greatly". It would seem that this led to their salvation.

Right.

Any push for additional scripture is wrong.

There are many examples of being led by the Spirit in the scriptures. Paul and Timothy were forbidden by the Spirit to preach in Asia and Bithynia.

"Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. 7 After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them.

Instead, the Spirit gave Paul a vision to travel to Macedonia.

"And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”

This vision, not scripture, was evidence of the Spirit's leading them to Macedonia.

"Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them."

This was consistent with Jesus being led by the Spirit into the wilderness after His washing by John.

"Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil."

This is just one example out of many many examples.

These examples are for our benefit. Any reason that sounds like "Well, these were great men of God. We cannot expect God to speak with us in such ways because we are common folk" is rooted in the Roman fallacy and saint worship. No, hearing from God is bread for the children.

My own life bears witness of the Spirit's leading: receiving my wife, the names of my children, my occupation, who I've spoken with and who I've ignored, how and when we gather as believers, when and how I travel, what questions I ask, etc.

I once resisted the Lord on an issue: He wanted a quick decision and I was taking my time. One night I had a terrible dream. I awoke and asked the Lord "What can I do to avoid this tragedy?!" He replied, "Do what I told you to do!" As soon as I was able I completed the task.

From scripture I could have made a case for God being patient with me. I could have made an airtight case. But He spoke to my spirit and it was clear He was done being patient with me. I would not have known that if He had not spoken to me in such a way.

There is no doctrine in here save one: be led by the Spirit of God.

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."

This is not extra-Biblical or some kind of new doctrine. This is common. All believers, the young and old, should expect to communicate with God: His Spirit to their spirits.

what. Meant by what you quoted ? It’s a question asking if people have noticed how some Christian’s reject the real gospel Jesus taught and said would save souls that’s written in the Bible and sent to every creature for salvation

and then preach other paths to salvation and label it “ the real gospel “

Just a question based on a general observation . As far as who the “ actual “ Christian’s are and who the ones that aren’t genuine I’m in no way no form no how in any way qualified or desiring to make that determination for any human . I’m just advocating that we should all go and learn from the ONE who is and believe him. And the gospel that he sent to each and all

I really enjoyed the thoroughness of your post and examples you gave brother. Thanks m not insisting Godbis t personal and not with us by his spirit brother but I appreciate the examples you used there in answering my question !

This part here

“These examples are for our benefit. Any reason that sounds like "Well, these were great men of God.

We cannot expect God to speak with us in such ways because we are common folk" is rooted in the Roman fallacy and saint worship.

No, hearing from God is bread for the children.”

You don’t think Jesus and the apostles and early church in Jerusalem as a whole had a very specific annointing and calling and that God was establishing the church in earth and there’s a reason that scripture ends with those same men ? But thier witness still stands today in any langauge one speaks and is believed by many still ?

Im not taking that position necessarily just coming from what you said there it seems you are saying that any thought that Jesus and his chosen apostles are “special” or different in thier interactions with the Holy Ghost is way off base ? Is that your position in what you’re saying there ?

“how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord,

and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭2:3-4‬ ‭

Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples. And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him. Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:16-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If Jesus hadn’t done all his miraculous wonders by the spirit and the apostles after hadn’t healed and raised the dead and done signs and wonders credible ones witnessed by many . The message and true story wouldn’t have lasted

i would never “worship saints “ or anyone but the Lord but I definately think there’s a difference in believers and the operation of the spirit in our lives for certain that doesn’t have anything to do wi to Saint worship though

“And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭17:14-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

were “ ones who would believe later some of what he’s saying is specificity abbiinting his apostles to establish the gospel in tbe earth to complete those scriptures and hear tbat witness

The apostles are special nonone should worship anyone or pray to anyone but the lord of course but they are specially chosen and annointed and appointed

“And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:28‬ ‭

Definetely distinct from the church

“For we are labourers together with God:

ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we should all share the gospel of course but this is specific and you see the brief summary at the end of its fulfilment

“Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:14-16, 19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

those signs and wonders made the message resonate deeply it’s why it’s lasted through time it was real and is real God still moves and still leads us indeed brother but he’s always going to be saying the same things he’s already said just has to remind us of it sometimes by his spirit

“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:23-

Believing The gospel should change us how we think and act revelation is when we start understanding what’s already written in my belief

Not being given things that aren’t written is why I had asked about what you meant by “led by the spirit “ because I’m not sure everyone means the same thing when they say that lol

Like Joseph smith used continuing revelation the Mormons always use continuing revelation as to why the Book of Mormon ect ect

Im wondering is God going to lead us through his word that he already preached and sent his apostles to teach and said believe ? Or is he going to lead people independent from that word ?

I know a fella who was “ led by the spirit “ to divorce his forty six Year old wife and marry a thirty three year old wife .

The spirit is gonna always line up with his word right brother ? Remember there’s a spirit of truth and also one of error spirit of Christ and also of antichrist. I think the word is the only way to know which is which

“And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:24-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

People arent always convinced immediately but later can be

“who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. ( Paul didn’t believe in Jesus at first ) And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:13-16‬ ‭

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God is longsuffering toward imperfect sinners because he wills tbat we be saved he’s patient wanting us to repent so we don’t perish

Im wondering is God going to lead us through his word that he already preached and sent his apostles to teach and said believe ? Or is he going to lead people independent from that word ?
I believe you captured the word that best describes the apostles' and prophets' anointing for their time: specific. All empowerments are for the specific labor of those in the field at that time. Hucksters try to duplicate the specific anointings of our brothers and sisters in Biblical times as a means to validate their personal ministries. They are easy to spot and to avoid.

Since we know that the end of age culminates in the mature body of Christ I expect that the empowerments for the saints will be related to raising up and maturing those who are called by the Lord.

Regarding this guy:

I know a fella who was “ led by the spirit “ to divorce his forty six Year old wife and marry a thirty three year old wife .

The spirit is gonna always line up with his word right brother ? Remember there’s a spirit of truth and also one of error spirit of Christ and also of antichrist. I think the word is the only way to know which is which
You are so right! Even an unbeliever could see through his scheme.

This brings up another point: church leadership. Who is watching over the souls of the people? Who is giving an account to God for those under his care? This Biblical arrangement is nearly absent in the church today: each person is doing what he or she believes is right in their own eyes.

I know a man who dealt with a wayward and unfaithful man. He warned him about his behavior. He then took brothers with him to warn him. Finally he told the church with the instruction: "Do not eat with him."

The man's oil fields dried up. His business collapsed. And his life was in ruin. By this time he had a child with the woman who was not his wife. He came crawling back to the man who first warned him and said "I know you were right! What can I do to repent?"

The man in charge told him that his wife (the woman he left) would ultimately get the say of whether or not he should put his current girlfriend out. The wife, because her husband and his girlfriend had a child together, did not want to split up the family. So, the man in charge made a way for the wife to publicly forgive her ex-husband and the woman he was with: what was done publicly must be handled publicly.

In all this time, in and around the area, there were two camps: one camp, the largest, was shocked that the man in charge would "stick his nose into anyone's business like that!". The other camp was humbled by the experience and saw the wisdom of it. Such displays of authority were not common in the church today.

The gist of what I am saying is this: much of the church does not care for the scriptures that speak of authority among the saints and, because this is true, much of the church will remain immature as the Lord furthers His kingdom. But this is another discussion all together. :)

I have a friend who is going through a painful divorce and has hooked up with a much younger lady. He described this new relationship as a ride the Holy Spirit is taking him on.

I'm not so sure about that (case study for the classic "mid-life crisis" for sure). I'm afraid this ride may crash into a brick wall eventually, especially when they are going out partying together until the "wee hours of the morning."

I'm all for being led by the Spirit. For me, I temper everything by referring back to God's Word, the Holy Bible, in case my emotions and intuition are off track and leading me down the wrong path.
