I believe that its very misleading to say its mandatory to hear voices
then dodge explaining what you mean. And the amen crew are guilty
also. This leads any young convert to seek to hear voices if their eternal
souls matter to them. And voices now they must hear.

Shame on the bunch of you that teach and spread this kind of garbage.
Most people know there is a demonic realm, and that our imaginations
can go wild. I cant give a rip about your subjective experiences, grow
up and have a heart for someone else besides your yourself.

By the way to any reader, hearing a voice is not what the bible means
by hearing His voice. It means your understanding will be empowered
to understand. If God chooses to give you an audible voice He will.
But it is not common. Most people who say He did lied. And it is not
at all necessary to hear any voices to know the Lord.

Lovechilds you continue to make these claims and refuse to explain.
You just refuse. Ive asked you many times in many threads to explain
for other readers sake exactly what you mean. Your spiritworld life
to me is nothing more than a scattering. Your ought to have a rethink.

What happens is unbelievers....that would be you...cut yourself off from God harden your heart and then you can't hear, then you make excuses why the rest of must be nuts because we hear our God. We are not ashamed we hear him. WE do hear him and he helps us in our lives to deal with you.

Plus you have the bible you don't believe...which you mock constantly...You don't listen to God...He won't force you...He has sent people to you over and over and over. We can't force you. Do you think we get some thrill out of telling you over and over the same things. You are deaf and blinded by this world run by Satan.

That is your choice. The bible is for believers. I put scripture and you don't want to believe God that is your right ...it called free will.

I don't get ur point Zone and Abiding and Unclefester, is it that people don't hear from God anymore or is it that you feel this thread was directed to you one way or the other.. Isn't is suspicious that it's always the 3 of you bringing up arguments or backing up each other to fight other Christians.. She brings up a good thread and you start asking unreasonable questions. Why?.. Guilty Conscience?

I used to think 4runner was taking it too far before but now i'm really wondering, could this really be a CULT?

And then we live another day. I never thought runner was taking it too far. I'm glad your seeing whats happening. God gives us strength.

not from me it wont. if this spirit life causes elite pomp, misleading folk into a large arena of spirits
where personal desire and pragmatism prevail. and total presumption leads the convo. forget it.
Its nothing but pride in spirituality. Anything goes. There is no guidance here, just confusion, and
Lindas constant slander. She cant even explain her terms without sharing personal experience.
And a us vrs. you guys attitude. very well

The question has NEVER been the hearing, but what it means to hear. Audible? just what.
If its a understanding that comes from the Spirit...fine. That is confirmed in scripture. But to be sassy
and run around the forums telling people if they dont hear Gods voice they arnt saved.
That demands an explaination.

So you were saying people don't hear God now your backing out of it. I'm glad if your saying people do hear him.

  1. Psalm 95:7

The sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me.

If you have a problem with what God says, his people hear his voice you have a big problem.

This thread is completely irresponsible. Noone doubts the power of God to save and deliver or work in our
lives. But to tell people if they dont hear God they dont know God...is just horrible to me. Horrible.:(

Abiding, I agree with you on this one, because when we are lost he in fact speaks to us
per testimonies, before we know him and after we know him.

Hey Toby. If you knew linda and some of the stuff she has been trying to defend. You would know the reason she opened this thread. I could be wrong, but what I have seen from her lately, I doubt I am,

Linda is trying to tell us if we have never had an open conversation with God as the charismatics do. we must not be saved. It is a thing where one distorts truth and makes is sound spiritual. What Zone unclefester and Abiding are doing is try to make her put up, and defend her accusations. As you see, as usual, linda never does. she makes accusations against those who do not believe as she does. but then runs when confronted.

Linda put up verses from the bible. What you see is people who don't believe in God or the bible reacting.

I didn't lie lol I give glory to where glory is due.
Couple years ago, after getting booted out of ministry for challenging questionable doctrine and practices of a church I was at, I kept praying "Lord what's is your will please Lord what is your will" in desperation you could say as I was fighting a battle in my mind "what have I done", thought I was in trouble with God, lol, then early one morning, just on dawn, clear as day in my heart and mind I heard "1 Peter 2:15" said, nothing else, when I read it, floored me, felt like a idiot in a way lol
15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing all of you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

And I don't think everyone has the same walk, we all hear Him thru His Word first and foremost, anything else is according to His will and pleasure. For me, Iv always believe there's nothing He can't do, I come from a occultic background so believing in the spiritual realm is easy, way easy for me cause I know from my lifes experience that the demonic realm, even though it's defeated, a battle rages on regardless, and I thank God daily that He guards my heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

We just need to remind ourselves we all walk to cavalry, not everyone encounters the same things along the way but we all shout with joy that name above all names "Jesus"

Abiding, I agree with you on this one, because when we are lost he in fact speaks to us
per testimonies, before we know him and after we know him.
sometimes people would rather think it is themselves, their flesh, this world or Satan they are deny instead of God who is speaking to them and telling them to stop.

I is hard to listen to God's chastening and many would rather focus on His love and grace and pretend they do need to repent and turn away from their sins of pride, self-righteousness, judging others through the mote in their eye, etc. Sometimes God speaks a message of conviction and the person says "Oh God you must mean for me to deliver it to so and so, they are so unrighteous and can not hear you" when in fact God is speaking to YOU.

that is why I think the NT has so many verses about harnessing YOUR OWN thoughts and tearing down YOUR own strongholds and how no one will teach others for GOD through His Holy Spirit will teach all and stuff...

I was told that if you see prosperous sinful people who deny God and yet seem untouched you may ask why. I heard a sermon that said God does not scourge Satan's kids, He lets them enjoy what little pleasure they can find in this life for this is the closest to Heaven they will ever get and then they will suffer in Hell forever. However when God's children sin, they are punished and chastens so they might stop and repent and be cleansed for this is the most hell His children will ever taste and then it will be eternity with Him in heaven.

So when you see people who have the wealth of this world Do not envy them, but pray for them that they might be convicted and turn from their sin and be healed. For the first step towards wisdom is the fear of God but the end result is abounding love.

yes i know all about it.

its called pentecostalism. NO THANKS.

brought to us by the GAP THEORISTS.

see, the church has ALWAYS believed exactly what Acts 2 says - there WAS a Day of pentecost and it happened exactly as written.
Peter testified THAT IT WAS WHAT JOEL PROPHESIED.

but, because poeple seek a sign and experiences, they are only too happy to listen to men, and not understand that Acts 2 is Historical Narrative, it concerned the FOUNDATION of the church, and is NOT to be repeated as a great end-time revival. no more prophets, no more miraculous gentile languages.

in fact, there's nothing but a great ENDTIME APOSTASY based on a love for signs and wonders.

btw: the tongues? they were GENTILE LANGUAGES.

Acts 2
The Coming of the Holy Spirit
1When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and resteda on each one of them. 4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. 6And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. 7And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? 8And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? 9Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, 11both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” 12And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” 13But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.”

Peter’s Sermon at Pentecost
14But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. 15For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.b

But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:

17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
18 even on my male servantsc and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
20 the sun shall be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood,
before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.

21 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’
22“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— 23this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. 24God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. 25For David says concerning him,

“‘I saw the Lord always before me,
for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;
26 therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;
my flesh also will dwell in hope.
27 For you will not abandon my soul to Hades,
or let your Holy One see corruption.
28 You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’

29“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, 31he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. 32This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. 33Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. 34For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,

“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
Sit at my right hand,
35 until I make your enemies your footstool.’
36Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

37Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” 41So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

The Fellowship of the Believers
42And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43And awed came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

  1. Acts 28:27
For the heart (the understanding, the soul) of this people has grown dull (stupid, hardened, and calloused), and their ears are heavy and hard of hearing and they have shut tight their eyes, so that they may not perceive and have knowledge and become acquainted with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their souls and turn [to Me and be converted], that I may heal them.
Acts 28:26-28 (in Context) Acts 28 (Whole Chapter)
Or we could say this....

how ironic.

I believe Jesus sounds like himself in Scripture. That is the voice we should hear. We should hear the Scripture and nothing against the Scripture is Jesus' voice because He is not against himself.

huh?
you supposedly speak verbatim words directly from Him.
you don't know what His voice sounds like?
