Here's the fact, whatever church one stands in God knows the wheat from the tares, I can't make that judgement. We all stand on judgement day and give an account of every word we say, no matter what Christian denom chuch you walk into one will give testimony of what God has done for them. He seeks opens hearts who worship in truth and spirit knowing He is the great "I am"
There is a scripture that speaks about denying the power of God, I only let it speak to me, I know Jesus is King of Kings, Lord and saviour, not just my saviour. Everything is according to His will.
James 4
From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not behind, even of your lusts that war in your members?
2All of you lust, and have not: all of you kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: all of you fight and war, yet all of you have not, because all of you ask not.
3All of you ask, and receive not, because all of you ask amiss, that all of you may consume it upon your lusts
So what's James talking about if someone can explain for me. Ask who?? For what?? If you ask does one get a answer??
It's not about "seeking a sign" like heeby geeby.
Scripture says "ask", ask who what then?? Just remember it has to be in accordance with His will for one to get a answer.

I thought the topic was how God spoke to us.
Personally the only time i've heard God's AUDIBLE voice is when I was in deep ...trouble and nothing else got through.
for me the question is not "does God speak" but does God answers prayers.
prayers are us talking to God, does God respond?
I think most would say YES of course He does.
well look back at your life, however God answered your prayers, well that is how God speaks to you.

the analogy of saying everyone needs to hear the AUDible voice of God is like saying everyone needs a prosteylic hand and if you don't need one you should cut off your good one so you too can hear God speak.
God has given us everything needed to live godly lives, sometimes people think they need more and stick their hand in the fire trying to grab it....

Jonathon's currently writing a "book of prophecies" for other countries and people. Seeing how all true prophets spoke as directed by God, I'm assuming Jonathon's work will soon find it's place in the New Testament
I'm wondering why he said "I'm writing it" though instead of giving credit to God ..... the true and real author of all prophecy ?

I know people can fake it but explain this. At the church we had a ministry for broken, wounded, people trying to come off addictions to drugs etc.
Pre requisite was accept Jesus,(I didn't make the rules lol), but I did the admission procedure for a season. There where those who said they accept Jesus, I told them God won't be mocked, you can't hide from Gods sight. One person who just got out of a rehab program was referred to us, I gave him the drill, rules, conpulsary meetings etc etc, he said fine "I just don't want Jesus rammed down my throat" Technically I wasn't allowed to admit him into the 1st stage house, but I had this overwhelming urge to let him in knowing that I could be reprimanded for doing so, but when he shared his life with me I was in tears I couldn't let him go, I knew Jesus was his answer whether he accepted Hin or not.
That night was compulsory prayer meeting for residents, two people prayed for him, he like passed out, laid out boom. He got up 10 nin later "what happened what happened what did God do to me" fake or real tgats between him and Jesus.
Long story short, he went on to be head of missionaries dept. Was it God??
There will be charalatans and there will be the real deal, how can we tell?
