the circumcision is now done on the heart. some here are carnal minded.

Romans 2:28-29, “For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.”
Circumcision always pointed to the heart. This is not new; merely more fully revealed.

Yes; God’s Elect are scattered all over the world.

"And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

- John 10:16
I'm pretty certain Jesus would have found all his sheep whilst he was here in person.

All tho when you look at Peter it says after Jesus went back to heaven

For you were like sheep going astray

But now you have returned to the keeper of your souls.

Jesus was the keeper of there souls whilst they where lost to.

Lost mean lost. Lost does not mean elect

But where do you see me disagreeing with your words at?
Right. I'm not "getting" their reasonings, really.

(and Romans 2:28 is in the section regarding "the Jews" specifically--IOW, it is not saying anything here of GENTILES who believe [i.e. Gentiles don't "BECOME Jews" now that they believe--the text is NOT conveying such, as some insist])

____________

Even Paul wrote this:

Gal 2:8
(For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me [/Paul] toward the Gentiles; )
Gal 2:9
And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me [/Paul], they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

Everyone who comes into this world because of Adam's disobedience, comes into it as lost, but for the elect, their names were written in heaven before the foundation of the world. When they become born-again, which they must become, they are no longer of the lost.
But wouldn't that make the verse in 2nd Peter false?

But it begins with circumcision based upon the Law and ends with our transformation in Christ.
The law was always a shadow of things to come. And Jews under the law were in rebellion not to do so. But getting circumcised didn't save them. It always was about having a circumcised heart. Doing physical deeds apart from their spiritual reality isn't obedience or faith. God was always chiding His people concerning this.

1 Colossians 1 10-15
Warnings From Israel’s History
10 For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. 2 They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. 3 They all ate the same spiritual food 4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. 5 Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.

6 Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. 7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.”[a] 8 We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did—and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died. 9 We should not test Christ,[b] as some of them did—and were killed by snakes. 10 And do not grumble, as some of them did—and were killed by the destroying angel.

11 These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come. 12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! 13 No temptation[c] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[d] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[e] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Idol Feasts and the Lord’s Supper
14 Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry. 15 I speak to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say. quote-we-cannot-rely-on-god-s-promises-without-obeying-his-commandments-john-calvin-139-76-54.jpg

Circumcision of the foreskin set the Jews apart from the Gentiles like circumcision of the heart separates those in Christ from those without Christ.

scattered to be be lost 🤔
In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria took Samaria and carried Israel away to Assyria, and placed them in Halah and by the Habor, the River of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

I grant the distinction you make here. But your original post that I responded to stated that the verse said simply that circumcision was no longer necessary for salvation. My point is that physical circumcision never saved anyone.

You are correct (y)

But I did say it means men [[NO LONGER]] have to be circumcised...hence men not women as the physical act.

Both are circumcised in the heart (men and women).
