It looks like their guidelines are based on the best available science.

The update is based on expert opinion and a review of scientific evidence on the benefits and harms of transgender medical treatment in teens whose gender identity doesn’t match the sex they were assigned at birth, the group said. Such evidence is limited but has grown in the last decade, the group said, with studies suggesting the treatments can improve psychological well-being and reduce suicidal behavior.

Since I'm not a scientist who specializes in that sort of thing, I'll defer to the people who are.

Plus, it's still the same as I described, namely that such treatments are only started after the patient has cleared several hurdles (such as extensive counseling, doctors' evaluations, and parental consent). So I agree that these decisions are best made by the families and their doctors.

After all, most of us would get pretty upset if the federal government kept intervening in our most personal medical decisions and issues, so we should allow other Americans the same consideration, freedom, and liberty, even when we may disagree with those decisions.

It is a mental illness, they know it is a mental illness. We already have Europe who is stopping this foolishness because of the harm it is doing. If I walked into an office and asked the doctor to blind me, or cut off my arms, what would they say? Christians already know this is foolishness. There are two genders, period.

Sorry, but given the choice between your unsupported claims and the relevant medical experts, I'll side with the experts.

Well, I'll side with God who created us and the so called experts. BTW Ben Carson says it's a mental illness, pretty sure he would know. And he doesn't have an agenda.

I don't recall the word "gender" being in scripture at all.

And I take it from your reply that you don't know of any scripture that addresses medical care for trans people.
God created them male and female. Trans care is a made up term by doctors and health care professionals who, having sworn to do no harm, actually break their oath.

Because terms aren't specifically used in the Bible doesn't mean the ideas or realities these terms describe aren't biblical.

So there's nothing in scripture about medical care for trans people, as I've been saying.

Let's try and be as optimistic as possible here, a Harris presidency should be a barrel of laughs.

Because there is no such thing as transgender. It's all a lie. So why would a political party support a lie? And why would a human being cause so much hurt to another human being? And why would any Christian vote for that, or lend support to it?

That may be your opinion, but it's pretty clear from history that trans people have always been a part of humanity. And if you value freedom and liberty like I do, you accept that it means people are free to live and exist in ways you may not like.

Some people believe it's abusive to take kids to Sunday School before they're mature enough to understand what they're being told and make informed decisions.

Obviously we believe differently and we would fight like crazy if the government infringed on our freedom to make our own choices about taking our kids to church. So we should afford other Americans the same consideration.

You said you side with God on the issue of medical care for trans people. But as is now apparent, scripture says nothing about medical care for trans people.

That means your statement is the equivalent of "I side with God on Fruit Loops".

The difference is you are promoting a lie. I am promoting truth. God only made male and female. People who have their bodies mutilated don't change their gender. Their chromosomes are exactly as they were before the mutilation. People who would do this are mentally unstable, and parents who would allow it are either grossly misinformed or equally as unstable.
Further, equating Sunday school with child mutilation merely demonstrates the degree to which your moral compass is off. While parental rights are important, they aren't sacrosanct. When children are being harmed, it is the responsibility of the appropriate authorities to protect the children.
Your defense of a lie and harm to children speaks for itself.

Trans was found in the bible well not a full explanation. However, when you read the story of Balaam at Peor and his advice that Baalak, cast a stumbling block before the nation of Israel.

When we dig into the history of their god Baal-Peor we find that his name means lord of the hole, lord of the opening. Yeah think physical anatomy . It went so far that men viewed themselves as women, trans if you may. In this religious practice these men would dress and act as women. To the point they would get clipped and then become temple prostitutes'. Of course carrying out worship practices to Baal-Peor, lord of the hole.

Of course God destroyed those Israelites that involved themselves with this Baal and the worship of him. Reckon he did not approve of their Sunday school practices.

Really? To you freedom and liberty are lies? That's sad.

That may be your view, but in America no one else is obligated to make personal medical decisions based solely on what you think.

Further, equating Sunday school with child mutilation merely demonstrates the degree to which your moral compass is off. While parental rights are important, they aren't sacrosanct. When children are being harmed, it is the responsibility of the appropriate authorities to protect the children.
You're not aware of any cases ever of children being harmed in church? Really?

Your defense of a lie and harm to children speaks for itself.
What I'm defending is freedom and liberty. You seem to oppose them.

Um, sorry but that seems like a very big stretch to say that Baal-Peor was about physical anatomy.

If you want to spend the time and do all the research you will find no exaggeration on my part and because this is family friendly I toned it down. Just using AI and typing religious practices to the god Baal-Peor this is what AI returned.

"Based on biblical accounts and historical records, the worship practices of Baal Peor were characterized by obscene and degrading rituals. Here are some key aspects:
  1. Sexual Immorality: The Israelites who worshipped Baal Peor engaged in sexual immorality with Midianite women, who invited them to participate in the idolatrous rites (Numbers 25:1-3).
  2. Excremental Worship: According to Talmudic tradition and biblical commentators, Baal Peor’s worship involved public exposure and the use of excrement. The god was associated with flatulence and feces, which were “sacrificed” to cure intestinal problems or promote crop growth.
  3. Anal Intercourse: Some interpretations suggest that Baal Peor’s worship included anal intercourse, as Rashi, a French rabbi, described the ritual as involving the “uncovering of the rectum and the bringing forth of excrement.”
  4. Idolatrous Iconography: The god Baal Peor was often depicted as a bearded demon with an open mouth, horns, and sharply pointed nails, as described by St. Jerome. In some representations, he was shown with a phallus in his mouth."
However, like I said more research will return the full practice of their worship and their god and my comment is no exaggeration just toned down to be family friendly.
