41 “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, you accursed people, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;

46 These will go away into eternal punishment,

I don't know, but it certainly is not an eternity of such
It seems to me that you are not familiar with Jesus words in Matthew....

It seems to me that you are not familiar with Jesus words in Matthew....
When a house is burnt to ground in a fire, is that fire and destruction everlasting? or does the house suddenly reappear?

When a man gets the death sentence and is killed is it not everlasting punishment? He is death forever, his punishment is forever.

When you believe in a doctrine, how you mind reads things is coloured by that preconceived idea, and people who strongly believe in something ignore everything that goes against it

Do the devil, beast, and false prophet get burned up and disappear, or do they continue to be tormented day and night forever and ever?

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

The House God made for the devil is eternal, so with GOD, it is possible with man's intellect, it is not. Human reasoning is limited. Your Rational is substandard to Gods ways.

A beast in prophecy represents an anti Christian nation or kingdom, so how does a nation get tormented forever when it says all Christs enemies will be defeated and all kingdoms become His.

It also says death will be cast into the lake of fire- does death get tormented and burnt forever? or is this symbolic of death being no more?

Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Simple, what did you say?

When a house is burnt to ground in a fire, is that fire and destruction everlasting? or does the house suddenly reappear?

When a man gets the death sentence and is killed is it not everlasting punishment? He is death forever, his punishment is forever.

When you believe in a doctrine, how you mind reads things is coloured by that preconceived idea, and people who strongly believe in something ignore everything that goes against it

your questions above are asked from what is seen as Human reasoning they are not contextual to the Space known as Hell where Jesus said will be eternal torment .

It would be more understandable if you kept my post with your comments. Your comments are early things not Spiritual things which the devil is a spirit being not of flesh & blood.

"The House God made for the devil is eternal, so with GOD, it is possible with man's intellect, it is not. Human reasoning is limited. Your Rational is substandard to Gods ways."

Literal, nothing in the passage tells us to take it as a symbol. Only those who do not want a hell lasting forever will spiritualize it. The beast is a member, singular, of Satan's trinity, not a nation of people. Study to shew thyself approved unto God.

It seems that you believe that the "bad" people will have their earthly bodies restored, so that they can be burned up in the lake of fire, never to appear again? Is that about right?

Personally, it appears to me that everyone will be raised in their spiritual bodies.... the good, to eternal life in the presence of God, and the bad to eternal "punishment".... whether it be a lake of fire, or outer darkness... but it will be an eternal torment to them. I see nothing in scripture that would indicate otherwise.

Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

also read Daniel chapter 7 where kingdoms are represented as beasts, studying is good

To find out you are missing out on eternal life in a peaceful loving environment is punishment enough to me
Of course there Is This, From The Righteous Judge of all:

"For My Thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My Ways, Saith The LORD."
(Isaiah 55:8 AV)
Amen.

So, if everyone is raised in their spiritual bodies, how is that spiritual body destroyed in the lake of fire? I think scripture is pretty clear that the punisment is everlasting... eternal.
