After being attacked and badly damaged by the muslims years ago, the cathedral of Notre Dame, both a famous Christian site as well as an important European cultural symbol in even a secular sense, particularly for France, is being reopened with great fanfare. President-elect Trump has been invited to make this a big event and it will serve also as his first official overseas trip. Behind the scenes Zelensky of Ukraine is also in town and it is expected that Trump, Macron, and Zelensky may secretly meet to discuss the war with Russia and the potential for peace negotiations
