3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

Here are a few more:
[Rom 1:29 KJV] 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
[Col 3:5 KJV] 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
[2Pe 2:3, 14-15 KJV] 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. ... 14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: 15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam [the son] of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
[Jde 1:16 KJV] 16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling [words], having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

It would be remiss of me not to throw in the works of the flesh:
[Gal 5:19-21 KJV] 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

[Rom 1:26-32 KJV] 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Yep, we are closing in on the final events of prophecy.

Thank you for your response. There was a verse there I had not considered. Times are difficult, and we must be steadfast.

2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Perilous times will come because of the increase in sinful behavior of the people.

Which it appears it is focusing on behavior to do with the exalting of themselves above other people, and exalting themselves in general.

It also points out that people will have a form of godliness, but are not led of the Spirit loving sin more than God which will make matters worse as the example to the world which will increase the behavior of the world in ungodliness.

This will result in taking them away from godly principles in which they do not love, and forgive.

And will result in them going against each other more and them eventually establishing their own system contrary to the will of God because of the high increase in arrogance, and self exaltation.

It mentions children being disobedient to parents which the Bible says that children honoring their parents is the first commandment with promise.

And that is because if children honor their parents they are more likely to obey authority taking away that conflict, and less likely to be arrogant taking away that conflict.

But mainly because they are more likely to be humble themselves before God causing them to grow up getting along with people, and more likely to accept the truth.

Children honoring their parents creates a less chaotic world.

Look at the 1960's counter culture movement when the nation's youth was rebelling against authority even parents and the nation increased in selfishness, and arrogance, wanting to have their own way.

And the age of the youths who rebel got less and less in defiance to their parents.

Some people say the last days happened back in the first century, but the children being disobedient to parents meaning there is a problem with it that is common does not make sense it started back then.

It would appear as if it would be a lot smaller span than that leading up to the beast kingdom.

Pro 30:11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
Pro 30:12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
Pro 30:13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
Pro 30:14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

God tells us of the last generation where children will be against parents, highly selfish, highly arrogant, believing they are in position of good standing but they are not washed from their filthiness.

They will heap money to themselves not caring about the poor and needy which we see today as millions and billions of dollars is not enough for them but they want more which goes along with the increased behavior in selfishness, and arrogance of the world that has become common place in the last days.

2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Perilous times will come because the condition of the world is worse with the way people get along with people because of the increase in selfish, and arrogance, pitting them more against each other.

And eventually results in the world coming together with an operation contrary to God's will with the motive to want to exalt themselves believing they will evolve to be spiritual, and greater, and there is no God the new age christianity.

Which when they shall say Peace and safety which is when the nations come together to establish a system of their own devices then sudden destruction comes upon them and they shall not escape.

Ever since Adam and Eve sinned the world has been headed towards the beast kingdom which they got more selfish, and arrogant, and sinful as time went on for that is the direction they are going according to the flesh that is contrary to the Spirit.

It was inevitable.

This has happened at the end of each covenant God makes with man the people become evil over time

they begin with God making a covenant sonthey can live with him like this

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good…..
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:26-27, 31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Later man becomes at the end of the covenant because of transgression spreading like this

“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭6:5-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

but there’s grace towards mankind from God always had been so he starts again with a good man and makes another covenant

“But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee. Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭6:8-9, 13, 18, 22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

and so he makes a new covenant

“And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭9:1-3‬ ‭

then later near the end of that covenant God looks upon man again and we’ve again become wicked all together

“God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭53:2-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The gospel promises another new covenant and it also foretells neee the end of this covenant man will again become completely wicked in our imaginations

the reoeated happening is God makes man and blesses us gives us all we need , then we corrupt it all and many die but he co rubies mankinds existance tbrough grace given to one person like Adam , Noah , or most importantly tonus in the new covenant Christ Jesus

Have nothing to do with such people.
As, when Jesus walked here on earth, went to sinners (All are, have and still do, maybe little less) The religious leaders accused! who?
What did Jesus say about that accusation? To The Who? need a Doctor?
Jesus is alive, risen to live in and through us with Father. Learn the exchanged life and trust God to do the done work through you for the others to believe God too. Love true love of 1 Cor 13:4-7 wins, won by Son in the resurrection.
People need people to accept them as God does and then God teach new to each person. This sorting out people is not good and is taught by evil to not reach people, getting others in with God as Mary Magdalene was healed and loved, not accused as those Pharisees did and still do that today
Love your enemies, feed God's sheep, people are God's sheep

man continues to not get born new. Actually are born new by God in Son for them as risen to them
many just do not yet see this truth, others see it and can care less over it and use it for self gain, as one day God will reveal these also.God seeks the sincere people, to become new as God sees them from the first day anyone chose sincerely to believe God. These see sincerely thankful, Accepted, forgiven and sealed to see clearly and then Choose to obey without any pride in their way anymore over time not giving up, at least for me anyways
Eph 1:6,7,13 Ezekiel 36:26 Hebrews 7:11-12 thank you Father Psalm 100:4, 103:12

I'll take 2TM 3:14-17! :^)

Paul taught the importance of continuing to learn God's Word (LGW) in 2TM 3:14-17, saying "Continue in what you have learned and have been convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have know the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Several things in this pericope are worth noting:

1. "Continue" speaks of perseverance.
2. "Convinced" speaks of confident faith rather than of absolute certainty.
3. "Learning GW from infancy" refers to God's "plan A" for parenting.
4. "Able" speaks of humanity having volition or faith to seek--or not (MT 7:7, RM 3:11).
5. "All Scripture is God-breathed and useful..." refers to the reason God inspired the OT and NT canons.
6. "Servant of God" means "muslim".
7. "Equipped" refers to having spiritual armor by which to defeat the devil's schemes (EPH 6:10-18).
8. "Teaching" implies LGW as the main method of becoming mature or fully equipped, which means having humility = teachability.

Paul explains how LGW may be accomplished in EPH 4:11-13: "Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."

This is clearly the context of today's world. Jesus said in Matthew 24 that when you see these things begin to happen, know the end is near.
