The bill, H.R 884, "No Tax Breaks for Outsourcing Act", introduced to the 128th Congress in 2023 and through 2024, went nowhere.

Part of America's economic issues is that years ago Congress passed a bill,Act, wherein companies were given tax credits if they moved operations out of the USA.

I would think in order to rebound from the devastating impact of that, those tax credits must be repealed.

I'd wonder if President Trump is aware?
And are those American manufacturers who have outsourced now subject to the tariffs?

There has to be a long term plan behind the tariffs policies in place now.
President Trump is a business man and has advisors who are versed in these issues.

Maybe it will be as he said. A bit of a struggle for us at first, but soon will work itself out. My words, not a PT quote.

Let's pray so. If the price of egg's are any indicator, it has to work itself out. Otherwise, the birds are going to feel gypped.

Makes sense about why he paused the tariffs.
One of my friends has a car dealership and about 15 years ago he told me that Mercedes Benz parts are made in Mexico.
Before that there used to be a manufacturing plant somewhere near the Alabama region but i don't remember where since it was a long time ago.
So, all these details will be ironed out and it's wise he paused it for a month.
We will see how it goes. It will get ugly that's for sure.
We will see because the US receives 75% of Mexico's exports. It's all about profit I suppose with any nation faced with tariffs where they ask themselves do I pay 25% tariffs and truck the stuff to the US or will it be best to ship it to Europe and Asia with no tariffs and only loose 10%.

Yep, everyone will be busy doing some work with calculators to put it lightly because in reality there will be teams of financial analysts who are trying to crunch numbers and make predictions using "AI" modeling data too.
I hope EU will not be using any DEI hires for their analysts but i have hope that the market here will set the tone globally since this is the Pot of Gold market.

We've spent the last twelve or more years saying our deficit was out of control, the real estate market is sky rocketing, our wages are going up but they aren't keeping pace with recession, that Social Security is going broke and that we can no longer afford to fund NATO,WHO or even food aid to poor countries. We created DOGE to try to scrape up every penny of savings we can find and even the hats we wear say Make America Great Again as if we acknowledge that it is no longer great. I just cannot after saying these things for that many years call it the Pot of Gold Market,Leader of the Free World and Great with a straight face after fighting so hard to fix it as if it was broken. Not even the other nations see US this way anymore and are adjusting their economics and security because of it's fallen state.

I don't disagree with you but the numbers don't lie.
The fact that US spends more money on military then six more powerful nations combined tells you of the state of the wealth here.
I mean, i can see this clearly because i come from another country who came out as the poorest nation when the cold war ended.
People waste money here on a daily basis. Hourly basis. Billions are wasted and STILL because the market is so large, it manages to find money to outspend everyone else on military!
California has the budget of Germany more or less. Imagine that! One state alone.
So i don't think it's so doom and gloom but every empire has its end, we know that. It just won't be in our generation or our children's generation.

I don't know. I wish somebody would show Trump some of the news clips from his campaign speeches where he was talking about how Bidenomics was why gas and food was way too high and show him the crowd clapping and chanting Trump when he promised to end that day one.
Since when has any elected official kept all their promises? Voters know, or should know, that all they are voting for is the least worst candidate. Mr Trump has supported Israel far more effectively than the Biden administration, but thrown Ukraine under the bus in favour of one of the worst human beings on the planet. Go figure.

The discussion of who’s got the better, bigger and stronger military is different from the discussion of who’s got the pot of gold market.

If your claim is true that U.S. military is number 3 in terms of strength, numbers and efficiency then it makes the discussions we are having about the pot of gold being even more true.
People spend money like crazy basically!
And we know this because the army pays $100 for a hammer when we could get it at homedepot for $10!
Yet despite all this insanity we still manage to outspend everybody, and still manage to function here internally just fine.
This puts the rest of the world in a losing position in a trade war.

I don't see one politician different from the next in regards of what they promised which is why I hold no bias when they do not do what they say. Putin's people probably told Rubio in Saudi Arabia after they explained their peace plan , Here's the deal I have 700.000 troops in the battlefield and 2.4 million total so your not going to put any of yours there unless you intend to join in on ww3, go home stop all funding into Ukraine and do whatever to save face or get involved in it which ever you want.

No the US is probably #1 in strength but the others maintain larger armies on far less funding is my point. In a trade war things like military size and strength are not the issue when it comes to food and commodities, homes and such.

He blamed Ukraine for being invaded and sided with Putin. He's a traitor to America

Yeah, that is what they said about King David before King Saul died.

If you are going to make peace both parties must be willing to compromise. If he wants to make peace he can't come in saying Ukraine is innocent and Russia is 100% guilty.

If you want to say that Trump is reckless, or that he takes big risks, no one is going to dispute that. But to say he is a "traitor to America", that is offensive, and that is a very serious charge. Traitors get the death penalty. However, according to the Bible a false witness who accuses someone of a crime gets the punishment they were hoping the other person would get. So in this case falsely accusing someone of being a traitor would result in you being tried as a traitor. That is God's divine righteous judgment.

So at this point my advice to anyone who is very concerned about Trump is to pray, but don't make accusations you can't prove with solid facts.

I would also be very leery of repeating things said by pundits and talking heads. The amount of deceit and lies flying around the internet right now is at an all time high.

Sad the leader of the land has no clue, I learned this in my first year economics class.

Those CEO's laid down it pretty thick on how dumb his idea is to place tariffs, and the dire consequences for the workers, like assembly lines can be built over night.

Trump only cares about the votes the farmers gave them not about their livelihood.
I don't even care about the livelihood of the farmers who are destroying the soil fertility of the land. Their way of farming obviously isn't working because they are accepting farm subsidies to survive.

Yes it is true, some are not good stewards of the land.

Even if they could build an assembly line overnight and bring some jobs back, people tend to conveniently neglect to count the many more jobs that are disappearing.

Wooohoooo!
My prayers might be answered and I had no idea how.
Target, Walmart and Bozos Amazon doubled their companies because of their government monopolies.
May they go out of business and the Mom and Pop Brick and Mortar stores come back.
I would love for us to go back to smaller, independently owned stores, I doubt it will happen.
