Been really looking into context of Christ's words. There are universal teachings that He gave that apply for all believers for all time, but some ones need clarity, like "love your enemy." At the time there was no Christian armies or Christians in the army. Is it possible Jesus meant this, and then gives the instruction to carry the arms and armor of a soldier (of Rome) because he is trying to help Jewish People not be destroyed? Jesus is 33 A.D. at his Ascension, and Titus destroying the Temple and turning Jerusalem Pagan is 70 A.D., which is not even a hundred year gap. Was Our Lord trying to help the Sons of Isaac not become the Zealots who would be destroyed? Or is it a teaching for all of us to "turn the cheek," and be abused, over and over, and over? I am curious, trying to get to heart of a teaching like this.
