I think putting the US military on the streets has been planned out for the last five years.
Not like this though, this was spur of the moment, but that's why Trump is also a good leader, he's a pressure thinker, he handles himself well, and adjusts quickly. I think just the reputation of the Marines and the boldness of sending them in with the National Guard will be enough to make even some of the most radical of the Enemy's slaves to reconsider in their hearts the folley with which those who lead them grossly astray could cause them to err to their own peril and hurt. They cannot play the same games with the military that they play with the cops and they know it too. I suspect they'll fade with a whimper rather than go out with a bang.
