Ive mainly heard the fuss come out of the charismatics.
And ive been listenning for near 40 years
Although every denomination has had its
war over it.

Funny tho I hear more men really fight the issue
by far than woman.

No-one has said that women are not part of the kingdom of God. Of course they are. All we are saying is that the Bible reveals that men and women have different roles to play WITHIN THE KINGDOM. We are ALL a royal priesthood meaning we can all come before the Royal throne of grace and pray. We are ALL ambassadors for Christ. We just simply have different roles and different giftings within the body of Christ, but God ordained men to be the spiritual leaders within the church over other men. Spiritual women should be the leaders over other women - but not over men!!!

You don't see what I'm saying. Why can't the girls go in the boys bathroom too????
That's where the bathroom business came in.

This whole argument has gotten pretty silly.

I'm now going to heed my own advice and 'shaddup' on this thread. Carry on :p

I'm actually quite surprised that men seem to be having a more difficult time accepting that women should shush at church than the women on here are. It's just not that big of a deal!
It's because their wives are paying attention to their internet activities.

(this is a joke, no straw men please)

Thanks MissCris for the explanation. Not sure why Dude quoted me as saying it, though.

I now need to go to the bathroom (to wash) to get ready for bed.

God bless you all

I was trying to demonstrate that we shouldn't appeal to ourselves when it comes to right and wrong.

because society is perverted and that is the same reason people have problems with women teachers, pastors and preachers: their perversion.

One example of things I as a woman would not want to discuss with a man and think men should go to OLDER men concerning:

their sexual problems and their inability to control their lust.

1 Timothy 2:12
And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.

is that the problem text? well when I see a MAN of God I will be sure to obey it, but if all I see are babies and toddlers....well, maybe I'll go have lunch at Abiding's now.....

1 Corinthians 7:4
The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.

I believe it means exactly what it states. God's law and order will not change. It is still valid today and forever.

1 Corinthians 14: 34-35
Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission,
as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home;
for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

1 Timothy 2:12
I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.

Imagine if Satan were to write a letter to the church. It might go a little something like this.

Dear church,
I want to thank you for silencing your women. It is really is nice to have a few less people speaking against me and working against my agenda. It feels nice to have a few less feet stepping on my head. Thank you for making your women feel inferior and less important to God. That makes my job much easier. I dont have to plant my seeds of division in the church, because you have already done that for me. I dont have to make women feel like God cant speak to them, because you have already done that for me as well. Keep up the good work...Good lookin out :)

That's blaspheme against the Scripture. Who are you to say that the Bible is wrong? I guess you know more from God than apostles? You are blasphemeing. Satan would want the women to talk because the Bible says they should be silent. You got it backwards.

Whoa!
No way is that correct...at least not now.
Women shouldn't preside over the meeting, but that doesn't mean they can't speak at all.
In my church, everyone, women, men, old, and young, are allowed to speak.
But there is always a man conducting the meeting.
We have what are called "youth speakers" and one boy and one GIRL are called to give a talk for the next week.
Maybe, that was a tradition or a commandment for their time and their situation.
Sometimes the bible does that.

No it isnt yur right BlueAngel...those that dont want the bible to speak for itself
have to stretch and exaggerate the truth to make it absurd. Does that really fool anyone?:D

From how far I have read in here, you are all strictly on these verses about women being silent. What about all the other verses in the bible, like men shouldn't shave their beard, etc? If we are bound to some verses shouldn't mean that we should look over all the other rules and verses from the bible. Some likes to say we ought to do what some verses says, and then to justify some other verses. Whilst all in all; Once Jesus died on the cross and rose again from the grave, the curtain in front of the temple got broken in the middle. Didn't it mean that Jesus made us free from the old law when He died and rose up again?

Just a thought to everyone in here. I am done in this thread. ;) :)

Well ive made no comment yet about woman keeping silent since it would take some time
to build the case on what the intent of scripture was.....certainly it didnt say Shaddup Your Face....haha
but if you find me a New Testament verse that tells me to shave my beard...then i will. But what you saying
is true...just doesnt apply. We are talking about new testament instructions to the church.

No,, there is nothing blasphemous about this because the women being silent in church thing is taken out of context
