At what point during a reeeeeally long post by someone on here do your eyes glaze over and you lose interest?

It's when I realize that it is a long post. I'll read a couple sentances that are apart, then when I scroll down to see the paragraphs... *shivers*

I don't stay on here for too long...

Hahaha I don't read them, unless it's an extremely interesting topic lol so you can say that I tend to avoid them.

Depends on the topic.

I almost never read anything in the Singles Forum or the Family Forum. In the Bible Discussion and Young Adults (where bulk of my posting takes place) it all depends on the subject. If I'm interested in the subject, I'd read a book. If I wasn't concerned, maybe a few sentences.

Depends on who wrote it, usually. Sometimes I can get through the whole thing because it's spaced out well and the thoughts are clear.

Most of the super long posts I see on here though are just incoherent ramblings, or a poor copy/paste from another website. I also skip over things if they repeat what they said earlier or what someone else JUST said.

If they're too long, as in more than 2 or 3 paragraphs, I usually don't read them. If the sentences are all jumbled together without new paragraphs, I get out of there really fast. So many words together like that give me a headache!

Depends on the topic and the punctuation. I don't like to read run-on paragraphs, very small letters, very BIG letters, or very bright letters. If the topic is very interesting, I may read it even if it's too long.

oh ye, also most people dont like to read longer posts if the post is not intended for them, so they mark it as worthless or unprofitable.

lol if I have time I read everything, including the links posted :) but then I've been a book worm most of my life and like reading :) I even listen to the 1 hour sermon links posted most of the time. I like collecting knowledge, it cost less then shoes ;)

...shoes ARE awfully expensive. Yeah, I TRY to read the whole post, but if it's full of links and excerpts from books or other pages...I go cross-eyed and I stop understanding what I'm reading.

i have to admit though I don't read or respond to long posts of people I think teach heresy and things that contradict the Bible.

I try to avoid even opening the thread of people who have repeatitively shown to be less then discerning concerning certain false doctrines such as Word of Faith, Sons of God, etc.

unless I see someone I respect commenting on it and then I just go and see what that person has to say more then the OP.

I rarely read long posts. If its the starting post of a thread, and it's something that catches my attention i may skim through it. But of course if it's poorly formatted i won't even bother.

If it's an interesting topic.. And as long as it's not one giant block paragraph (or a paragraph with awful grammar and/or punctuation) I'll read the whole thing!

It's sad that many of you seem to lack much of an attention span! Of course, it's the same with me.. If it's interesting, I'll keep reading. So then the question becomes a matter of what we each find interesting as individuals. I wouldn't spend my time reading a 3 page lecture on Pokemon. I would however enjoy an intriguing read on a debate of evolution, genes, the brain, etc.
