Wasn't it the waters above the firmament that fell on earth during the Noahic Global flood? Therefore, there is no longer the same type of water above the firmament (expanse/skies) anymore. Another thought. Maybe, before the sun etc was made Earth was still. However, either the catastrophe of death destruction etc etc caused by Adam's sin may have shaken the Earth into a spin, so that everything changed. Or the catastrophic global flood caused something to happen to the Earth after the global flood. In Hebrews it says "once more I will shake the Heavens and the Earth". The once more indicates that there has already been ONE shake up of the Heavens and the Earth.

we could also talk about how far from the Earth you have to be before you exit its gravitational pull or reach orbiting height but that might be to technical, eh?

Paul was referring to the third heaven in time, not a physically higher place above earth. When it's all said & done, there will have been three heavens and earths. The first was Gen 1:1. This was overflowed with water when satan rebelled (2 Pet 3:6, and Gen 1:2, "the earth [became] without form and void"). We are now living in the second heaven & earth, which began taking shape in Gen 1:3, and is mentioned in 2 Pet 3:7. The third heaven and earth is mentioned in Rev 21:1ff. This is what Paul got a glimpse of by revelation.
The third heaven as I understand it is relating to the existence of our spirit itself.
The first= when we were with God before we came to this etherial plane of existence.
The 2nd= Our mortal lives upon earth as we experience them from birth to death
The 3rd = Ascencion into Heaven again after death if we follow his commandments.
This is why paul says I will boast about a man like that but I will not boast about myself because he saw him ascend

No the flood waters came from the CLOUDS.
The firmament (complete expanse of the heavens) seperates the waters below (on earth) from the waters ABOVE (above the heavens). That means there is water above the heavens. It's still there.
Except no spin or orbit is mentioned in scripture. Pretty huge thing for God to leave out.

Maybe you should read the bible from the beginning?
The firmament is the complete expanse of the heavens. From a micromillemetre off the ground right up to the waters above the firmament which is up past the last star, past Gods throne room in the 3rd heaven.

Sure. Find a way to live in space, space station or maybe another moon landing....you will be the loudest voice against this once you see it for yourself.
