Hislastwalk! Thank you for your wise words. I was beginning to get depressed by this conversation. Homosexuality is an act. I can't believe someone went on to place a percentage or degree of being filled wih the Holy Ghost. When He enters you its not a part of His Spirit but all. Its just some of us do not operate in total submission to His Spirit. I dont judge or condemn anyone, but we must accept and understand God is holy, and He requires the same from us. The bible does make mention of being drawn away by our lust. That is such a sad place for anyone of us to be. I pray the Lord continue to strengthen you Hislastwalk and use you as a great testimony. I also pray for the deliverance of so many homosexuals who are in denial and lost. I pray their eyes be opened and they desire full deliverance in Jesus’ name.

AMEN!!!!! AMEN!!!

My friend, I think of the words, that when Jesus was raised from the dead, he lead captivity captive, and gave gifts to men!!

Jesus said that he is the resurrection AND the Life!! It is our prayer for deliverance!! It was said, ''For he save his people from their sins!!''

There were also doubters in the congregation of Israel tho did not believe God would deliver them from bondage (they had been there so long). And what is worse, even in the wilderness, their were some who tried to entice people to return to bondage!! And thy hyped up many to do it. But they were destroyed together. But only two men of faith lasted in that generation. I wonder how many will last in this one!!

Jesus is the deliverer that came to save Israel from bondage. Bondage to sin!! Denial is the first thing. How can a man in chains say he is free?

Every time in the history of men, when slaves were in bondage, and the way of freedom came, there were some who did not desire freedom (forgetting the hard labor.) Or there are some who think it is impossible. Or some who think their bondage is freedom (not seeing what freedom really is).

So that without faith in Jesus, many will fall away from the truth. JESUS CHRIST! WHO CAME TO SAVE PEOPLE FROM THEIR SINS!!

We know that sin ends in death, and so all who do sin will die that eternal death, and not inherit eternal life. This is why we need a Savior. This is why Jesus came to save us from the judgement that was against us by sin. He came to save us from our sins, NOW, HERE. But who will go into that promised land? When the Lord comes, will he find faith??

May Jesus bless you!!!

God has spoken against it. And that same Spirit that was in Christ was in Paul, who spoke of it. In both the OT and the NT. And Jesus still speaks by that same Holy Spirit today concerning it. He has not allowed it. It is an abomination.

May Jesus bless you.
May I ask that you give me a passage in the bible stating that Christ Himself spoke against homosexuality? I don't deny that the Old Testament speaks against it, but unless Christ Himself did so or referenced the Old Testament, then I see now reason why it would be considered sin. Also, it's my understanding that Paul was a homophobe and since Paul was still just human, it is quite possible that he let the homophobic side get the better of him despite Christ never mentioning it.

Nox, do you not believe in the trinity? Also, where did you come up with "...understanding that Paul was a homophobe"?

It may have been one of the other apostles (I'm not too good with the facts) but at least one of the apostles who preached homosexuality as a sin was homophobic (or so I heard, a friend of mine, far more knowledgeable than myself said). And yes, I do believe in the Trinity, and (guessing where you're going with this) didn't God send his son to Earth to set man straight? Surely if God had willed it, He would have had his son specify that homosexuality was sinful, but he didn't.

Personally I don't think homosexuality a sin at all. And I believe anybody can be filled with the holy spirit, given they truly repent their sins.

I think the lust that homosexuals have is as a result of them being possessed with Demons, so can the Holy Spirit live where a Demon lives, that's my question!

Yes.. I don't know how it sounds. But it isn't NATURAL for a male to be attracted to another male or for a female and a female to be attracted to each other.. So i say it's a Demon at work.Or?

If someone thinks homosexuality is an action then heterosexuality is too. I'm a straight woman- I don't go out there and sleep with countless men or anything close to that sort.

It is so easy for someone to say that God didn't create gay people and they go on saying that someone can't be born gay but the ones that end up saying that are the ones that aren't gay themselves. I think above everything, compassion and respect are the most important things. I have gay friends who are incredibly sweet and respectful. They were there for me when I had my modesty outraged. I know how involved in society they are and always go out to lend a helping hand. I think its just centuries of old fashioned prejudice, really. As a christian, I'm not tolerant of homosexuals (in that I don't think they're doing anything wrong at all!) but have all the love in the world for them just as I do for the heterosexuals.

Jesus came down and I'm interested in what He has to say, vs what someone else has to say. Jesus Himself never spoke about neither homosexuality nor heterosexuality as sins. People focus on differences too much- I pray they start focusing on similarities instead. If people think this disgusts God, do you think God would be all that pleased with a heterosexual married couple that swear when making love and/or have fetishes and what not within their marriage? I think not.

I'm neither pro-gay nor pro-straight. I'm pro-love and the Holy Spirit is love. :) So yes, they can be filled with the Holy Spirit as much as straight people can!

God bless you all. :)

Hugs,
Maya

The Bible refers to homosexual act as an abomination. God loves the sinner-but he hates the SIN. After accepting Jesus as your personal savior, sanctification begins and God cleans house so to speak. He takes away all the junk that goes against his principles and teaches us to follow him. God loves all of us and Jesus died on the cross for forgiveness of all sins. Accept God's plan of salvation in your life and let him become Lord of all in your life. Give yourself to God fully and watch the transformations that happen as a result. The closer you get to God -- the better life gets. There is nothing or noone that is more important than having a one-on-one relationship with God and walking in obedience to him.

Let's see, first of all, your justification for one of the apostles being a homophobe is... incomplete at best.

define homophobe (n): a person who hates or fears homosexual people. [1]

Considering the fact that Jesus specifically chose these men and taught them to love. Further considering that they were filled with the holy spirit, it would take a mountain of evidence to demonstrate that they feared or hated any group of people, let alone any person. At this point the "well my friend told me..." argument isn't really a good foundation to build a belief upon.

As for the Trinity, my point was simply that God is Jesus. So, anything that God said Jesus also said. Thus you can't limit yourself to the words of Jesus, but need to understand the Bible in its entirety.

Oh, and one final note, Jesus didn't come to earth to "set men straight" (no pun intended), He came to fulfill the law and to save man kind. Since he saved mankind, certain things changed; Not those things that were sin, but the affect of that sin.

You cant be FILLED with the Spirit if you are walking in the flesh and Practicing Sin. ANY sin, doesnt matter what: Homosexuality, or even abusive language, Premarital sex of any nature, or Theft.

FILLED with the spirit means you are not FILLED with your own desire, but GODS desire, GODS will, and its GODS will that you are Sanctified.

SO...if you are Walking in flesh, and practising SIN, you are NOT sanctified, nor being sanctified.

WAY to many false gospels being propegated...there is NO such thing as a SINNING christian, Stumbling Yes, struglling baby Christian...sure, SINNING christian...NO.

If you are Practicing, and WALKING(DAILY) in SIn, then you are NOT spirit illed, and if you were EVER truly converted you are HEAVILY quenching/quieting the Holy Spirt

"Can a homosexual be filled with the Spirit?" Yes.
"Is homosexuality a sin?" Yes.
"Can a christian have a demon?" Yes.

I know these are all controversial answers for some people. I'm sorry if your prejudice clouds your mind from being teachable. Truth is a high goal and we must resolve to agree with it when we seek it out even if it offends our senses. "The Truth will set you free, but first of all it will piss you off." Ask yourself, am I open and willing to accept something if it is truth EVEN if I disagree with it? Could I be wrong?

I have cast demons out of practicing, church going, Jesus loving christians. I personally know through experience that a christian can be delivered from demons. How can this be unless they are afflicted in the first place. Why would we be instructed as christians to put on the armor of God if we are invulnerable to attack?
Rachel777 quoted 2 Corinthians 6:14-16 and despite her beautiful smile she shares an all too common misunderstanding of the context of that passage. Paul was calling Christians to come back out of sin and to stop their sinful practices because it is unseemly for them to live in such a way. Just as he warns them in 1 Corinthians 6 against their lifestyles that are falling back into sin. The issue Paul makes clear here is that Christians DO fellowship with sin but MORE IMPORTANTLY that they SHOULDN'T. See 2 Corinthians 7:1.

I know practicing Christians (actively sharing the gospel, God working through them in healing and power, attending church and reading their bibles etc) who are homosexuals, liars, addicts and so on. I know I am far from perfect (I know, shocking right). At the same time as being fallen and sinful, we also have a heart after God and as we draw closer to Him, He further sanctifies us. This is the power of the Gospel. The enormity of God's loving grace to us. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. How much more will God give us every good thing now we are reconciled to Him! (Romans 5)

Are your questions out of love for others and Faith in God? Producing good fruit? Truth alone is powerful, Truth in Jesus is liberating and lifegiving. The Pharisees had truth, but we have The Way, The Truth and The Life. Allow The Word to become flesh in your own life and display Christ through your own life.
