Rome did not engage with Persians until the Sassanid empire. What you are referring to was not Persians but Parthians. The Parni are Scythians. A tribe that originated out of the steppes. Which went on to defeat and replace the Greek Seleucid empire in area that once belonged to the Persians.

One thing I always found was cool and how it influenced western Christianity is the Persian Pairidaeza or walled or enclosed garden. It is the word we now use when we say paradise. Came to us of course by way of the Greeks and the picture the thief would have had when he is told today you will be with me in paradise.
