Yes I do interpret the Bible with a modern lens, because the old way has been replaced by the new. Why would I go back to the old redundant covenant, which no longer exists, when we have a new and better covenant.

Israel and the Jews and the Gentiles don't exist anymore, they have been replaced by the Church. So this dispute about which word is the biblically correct one to describe (non Jews) is futile since they don't exist anymore.

No, that's not correct.

The Jews lost their (favoured status), when they rejected the Lord Jesus. He said something like "I came onto my own and they rejected me so I went to the Gentiles".

Read Romans 11.

Much of the Old Testament is no longer relevant to us, under the new covenant.

God made an unconditional, everlasting covenant with the Jews.

"Paul has spent three chapters (Romans 9-11) carefully distinguishing ethnic Israel from Gentile believers"

Correct. An unassailable fact that can only be denied, never refuted.

The only way futurism survives is by dragging a foreign definition of Israel into the text.
Go back to Chapter 2

There you will find Paul’s first definition ... a momentous definiton!!

He tells us plainly that “he is not a Jew who is one outwardly,” that circumcision is not about the flesh, and that true covenant identity is a matter of the heart, wrought by the Spirit.

One tree -covenantal unity.
Not two trees.

The root is the Abrahamic promise fulfilled in the Messiah.
"you stand only by your faith." destroys ethnic entitlement.

And you know what else totally destroys your futurist view is that Paul is writing about what was happening in his day!!

This teacher, teaches it correctly and writes it beautifully so I quote..

“Some of the branches were broken off” (Rom. 11:17), he writes—not will be.
“They were broken off for their unbelief” (Rom. 11:20)—not might be someday.
And “God did not spare the natural branches” (Rom. 11:21)—not will eventually refuse to spare them.
These are not prophetic formulas; they are apostolic interpretations of first-century covenantal judgment already in motion.

But the apostle is not finished.

In Romans 9, he sharpens his definition and presses it even further: “Not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel,” and “It is not the children of the flesh who are children of God.”

If Romans 2 amputates ethnicity from covenant identity, Romans 9 removes any illusion that national or genealogical Israel possesses automatic standing with God.
The true Israel, according to Paul, is the Israel of promise—the elect, the remnant, the called, those whose identity rests not in their lineage but in God’s sovereign mercy.

This is Paul’s theology. This is his framework. This is the interpretive lens he demands we use.

Paul is describing an event that is actively happening as he writes, accelerating toward an unavoidable, catastrophic moment that Jesus Himself predicted.
What was pruned in AD 70 was not Israel but unbelief. The tree survived." (Kendall Larkin, Shepherds Church)

Yeah churches understood this for millennia... until politics infiltrated (thank you Darby and Scofield and others) and convinced people of error.

What is so amazing..... in these times the scales are finally falling away.... and so many Chrisitans who embraced this false Darbist doctrine are realizing it was all one big fake narrative.

This is the real >>> Praise Jesus!!

Anyone can see DJT has resorted to good cop / bad cop childish games.

I'll have to speak to my Pastor to find out what our Church believes about the "two Israel's". He did preach a sermon on this topic a couple of years ago. From memory he told us that we are "the Israel of God", and that national Israel is no longer "Gods chosen people".

I will confirm this but I'm 99% sure he said that National Israel will never rebuild the temple, because it would be an abomination in Gods sight, since the Lord Jesus is the new Temple and the old one has no further purpose.

So, we believe that all those Israelis who converted to Christianity, have been added the Church. So the rest of National Israel are not considered to be among Gods elect.

From your own Bible studies, what do you believe? Just wondering.

What is this a commercial for the NRA to explain how important the 2nd Amendment is?
We need to get these oppressed Iranian citizens inspired.....

Jdg 9:52
And Abimelech came unto the tower, and fought against it, and went hard unto the door of the tower to burn it with fire.

Jdg 9:53
And a certain woman cast a piece of a millstone upon Abimelech's head, and all to brake his skull.
