If you do not know what to WATCH for, your will not be WATCHING and be caught unawares.

Not only that, it is clear that Lord Jesus is using conscientious WATCHFULNESS as a "filter" to discriminate those who TRULY study and then believe on His word from those who are unbelieving and heedless.

I take it these will be shocked to discover that they "missed the rapture", as they were not PREPARING for the soon arrival of the Bridegroom.

It's not incredible because the inbred Gulf monarchs know their grip on power is tenuous and could quickly disappear if the people rise up and overthrow their oppression.

Sounds more feasible and realistic. There's no way, IMO, that the US would be so dumb as to try to navigate the Hormuz Strait to get to Kharg Island, which is up near Kuwait; and the US has been trying to agitate separatists in the Baluchistan area of Iran for a long time.

Last I checked, the moon and stars are out and the sun rose this morning. One day, that will change. The new heavens and new earth will need no natural light. Then all distinctions between Israel and gentiles will be erased. Until then, Israel exists as "the nation formed in one day".

Israel is unique. It survives and thrives, 8 million Jews in an ocean of 400 million plus hostile Muslims. Only God can give that kind of protection.

Israel sits on 1% of the land in the ME. When we were kids we had a globe. My father would put his thumb over Israel and ask us to find it. That is how small Israel is. Indeed, only God can give that kind of protection, as you say. Thanks for the post, it's informative.

I believe national Israel lost it's "chosen people" status, when they rejected the Lord Jesus as the Messiah. The Bible says something like, "He came onto His own and they rejected Him so He went to the gentiles"

There are Bible verses that say, "there are no Jews or Gentiles" in the Lord Jesus. We are all One. So I can't see how anyone can get around such verses and claim that the Israel of old has a special relationship with the Lord that us Gentiles don't.

My pastor said as he pointed to all of us "you are the Israel of God". I haven't found anything in the bible to refute what he said, so I go along with his view.

Where in the covenant they had with God does it explain what God will do if they disobey Him?

At the moment Israel is getting pummeled by Hezbollah in Lebanon, an IDF commander just publicly stated that the IDF is on the verge of collapse, Israel has virtually run out of air defense missiles so that Iran can pretty much hit it at will, and Israel is a very small country that Iran, Yemen and Hezbollah could make unlivable in short order. When Israel resorts to nuclear weapons in order to save itself from destruction are you going to be saying that God saved it?

If Israel ceases to exist, then that would make God a liar.

Agree. God searches the hearts. Anyone claiming to be a Christian but not interested in the signs indicating the soon return of the Lord Jesus, that sounds like a heart issue to me.

The only prophecy that needs to be paid attention to concerning these last days is the book of Revelation. All OT prophecies are useful for instruction and edification concerning the faithfulness of God to bring his words to pass, but not to discern what is happening now.

I'd like to see some scripture that specifically says those that don't believe end times events correctly will burn in hell.

Obviously if someone ends up taking the mark of the beast they'll burn, but aside from that where are we told that those who do not understand end times event correctly before they happen will go to hell?
