I saw a monk shopping in a big warehouse store today and am thinking about how monks have to navigate this modern society with all the crowds and lack of manners and all the chaos and hustle and bustle. They have to always maintain their composure and politeness. Maybe that's why they always travel in pairs, although this time there was only one but I think he was with someone.

Health insurance is insanely expensive the older you get.
Why can't it be the older you get, the cheaper it is. I dunno.

How influential I am...not.

I must stay up all night influencing people because that's what an influencer does. Or maybe they catch influenza. I don't know anymore.

What do you say Jesus?

Well I do remember you saying to Peter who was asking about John cos you told John something different and said to Peter, what is it to you? Follow thou me.

My dictionary brain sometimes messes with me.
It's why they have the game 'Chinese Whispers' and everything turns out wrong on the other end.

I was chatting with my driving instructor the other night on the phone, and I was looking at the google maps to figure out the way to somewhere, and their were different routes. I said well we could go this way, it takes this long, and I thought I heard him scoff and say 'that's the leaky house way' but he actually said 'that's the Mickey Mouse way' and I had to look it up. I was confused and said I wasn't going to Disneyland.

I shopped until I dropped and ran out of money
Thing is food gets eaten and then you have to go out and buy more.

And you will still need to do it on vacation. What I would suggest is ordering all your shopping at the beginning of the year, and get a delivery service or subscription and then you will not have to go out at all.

Perhaps. If Danielle Steel can do it, (I heard she does) then we could do it. Just need pots of money up front, royalties, and a team of servants.

My problem is I am forgetful so I have to go back the next day for something I forgot. I make lists but I can't remember all the things that need to go on the list or when I'm in the store it's so busy that I can't concentrate and think I got everything on the list only to notice I missed something later. Then my legs don't work too well and I have to walk slow all the time and these stores are so big that just getting what I need is a challenge. I can't afford to have delivery and going out shopping is actually the highlight of my life.

Another issue I have is low energy and tire easily. I can't do more than one store a day and I often need stuff from two different stores.

hmm my method is. Keep pen and paper by the fridge. When run out of something, immediately write it down on the list. Take the list with me shopping. Cross the item off when I've found it.
Go shopping when I'm alert (mornings) and allow time to find things so not rushing. Also when it's not so busy. Embrace the challenge, take a bag/small trolley.

If crowds and noise a problem, some people just put mufflers on. I will also tend to go for the smaller stores that I can handle, not the huge warehouses that consume people (Ikea, Costco, Warehouse, Bunnings). I might choose a smaller market, not a supermarket to get a few groceries. Then I maybe spend the time and money I saved on small treat for myself, like sit in the carwash on way home, library for free books, redeem a fuel voucher etc.

I didn't learn this overnight, but through hundreds of hours spent shopping. I don't like shopping with other people who drag their feet or when I got no money or pressure me into buying things I don't need. Shopping when single is great. I say Lord help me shop and find the bargains. Remind me of what I forget. And often He surprises me.

Anyway. I say shopping when single is great because you don't need to always think of someone else when you out shopping, and wondering, will he or she like this and then get the wrong thing and waste your money.

I'm thinking of how to roast the chicken tonight. Follow the recipe in which cookbook. I don't know I haven't done it before will it turn out alright? What about the missing ingredients. How much time do I have?
If I don't eat it tonight, will it keep until tomorrow. What veges will I have with it.

Why does my dad only want to eat frozen food. I am so tired of frozen boxed food I want fresh! But mum isn't around to insist, so he ends up going for the easiest, most mushed up option. Big sigh. Last night had fish fingers, chips and peas. I am over the potatoes and peas combo. But am thankful It's not just snack packets of crisps and a muffin like what I had the other night when went out.

European food leaves much to be desired...

I know I'm just endlessly complaining but the truth is that I'm under a lot of stress, and it's not from work or a job. I'm going through a bit of a life crisis. This is why I have trouble concentrating, why I'm forgetful and why I lack energy. But thank you for trying to help. I do make a list at home and go through the fridge to see whats needed but like last week I needed fuel injector cleaner because the car was starting to vibrate at idle and I forgot, and there were some supplements that I thought I had bought a week ago but I actually tried to buy them and they were out of stock but I only remember going to that section and looking for them so I thought I bought them. And another truth is I'm not just shopping for myself. I'm shopping for someone I'm caring for. If it was just for myself, I wouldn't care if I forgot something. I appreciate your concern though.

For those who can't see it, here's the copy/paste: (because I thought it was 🤣 , and I'm sure others will too)

A young man was crossing a road one day when a frog called out to him and said, "If you kiss me, I'll turn into a beautiful princess".

The man bent over, picked up the frog and put it in his pocket.

The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will stay with you for one week." The young man took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it and returned it to the pocket.

The frog then cried out, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I'll stay with you for one week and do ANYTHING you want." Again the young man took the frog out, smiled at it and put it back into his pocket.

Next the frog yells, "Okay okay, If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I'll stay with you FOREVER and do ANYTHING you want." Again the young man took the frog out, then he chuckled at it and put it back in his pocket.

Finally, the frog asked, "What is the matter? I've told you I'm a beautiful princess, that I'll stay with you forever, and do anything you want. Why won't you kiss me?"

The young man said, "Look I'm an engineer. I don't have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog is cool."

I should stop giving advice lol
for example, an expat UK neighbour always whinges to me about transport in my country. Instead of telling her to sod off back to her own country, I just listen to her whinge with a smile on my face.

No, your advice was good. I just wasn't telling the whole story and my situation is unique, not normal.
