Forget what MFW is....
But I probably agree with you.
Let's take a look:
1 Corinthians 15:51
42So will it be with the resurrection of the dead: What is sown is perishable; it is raised imperishable. 43It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. 44It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”;e the last Adam a life-giving spirit.
46The spiritual, however, was not first, but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. 48As was the earthly man, so also are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. 49And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so also shall we bear the likeness of the heavenly man.
Where, O Death, Is Your Victory?
(Hosea 13:9–14)
50Now I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
51Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53For the perishable must be clothedf with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
54When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality,g then the saying that is written will come to pass: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
I'd say that the above is speaking about the resurrection and not the rapture.
Verse 51: When Jesus returns, at the end of the world, some will still be alive...
they will not be sleeping/dead.
In the twinkling of an eye,,,we will all be changed into our glorified bodies.
The dead will be raised imperishable....never to die again.
And those found to be living will also be clothed with the imperishable....the glorified body that will never die again.
Where do you see the rapture above?
1 Thessalanians 4:17
13Brothers, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death,c so that you will not grieve like the rest, who are without hope.
14For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, we also believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.
15By the word of the Lord, we declare to you that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep.
16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will be the first to rise.
17After that, we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.
The above is also speaking about the resurrection, at the end of the world.
Jesus will bring with Him those that had already died. Verse 14
Those who are still alive when Jesus returns will not go before those that are already dead. Verse 15
When Jesus returns, the dead in Christ will rise first. Be with Him. Verse 16
Those that are still living when Jesus returns,,,will be caught up with those that had already died so that they become one groupl
Verse 17
I don't see any rapture there either.
The question is:
How many times is Jesus coming back?
One or Two?
If we want to accept that the rapture is true,,,Jesus will have to come back twice:
Once for the rapture of the saved,,,and then again for everyone at the end of the world.
Where are these two times in scripture??
MFW is the opposite of TULIP
The rapture of Christians who are living when Jesus returns is in 1Cor. 15:51 & 1Thes. 4:17.
What do you think happens to them when the last trumpet sounds?
