That's your assertion, but Paul asks, "Not all speak in tongues do they?"

'Them'... they did this. Not every single individual has to speak or perform both actions to fit the wording of this passage. Just as when the disciples asked 'why this waste', that doesn't mean all of them had to say the exact words in unison. John lets us know Judas spoke the words.

If six of them spoke in tongues and six prophesied, the wording would still be true. If all of them did both, the wording would still be true.

The ability to speak in tongues is a gift. It isn't earned. It comes by grace. It isn't by human ability. It comes through a special grace of the Spirit, so how could this not be an example of a 'gift of tongues.' Conceptually, what you are saying does not make sense.

Paul's writings do not mention some kind of separate tongue that everyone can speak in that is different from a gift of the Spirit. That idea is not in the Bible. Paul also treats uninterpreted tongues used in prayer that edifies oneself as the same sort of tongue that is interpreted to edify the assembly. Look at the wording of I Corinthians 14.

These follow the group. But it doesn't say that every individual has to heal or he isn't a believer, or that every individual has to pick up a snake or he isn't a believer, or that every individual has to drink poison, or he isn't a believer, or that every individual has to speak in new tongues, or he isn't a believer.
The scriptures shared do confirm that the Holy Ghost is the gift and tongues is proof the giving occurred.

Your deliberate redirction away from what actually happens is necessasry for your denomination but it is not scriptural.

In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, Eph. 1:13

That alone illustrates that your insistence of speaking in tongues being proof a person is indwelt by the Holy Spirit, is doctrine from the pages of your Oneness Pentecostal sect. There is no indication that a person speaks in tongues the moment they accept Christ and understand He died for them.

So, what you are actually saying, according to you and yours, is that no one is saved unless they speak in tongues.

A person can look for the rest of their life and they will not found that written in scripture.

27Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. 29Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues Do all interpret? 31Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. I Cor.12

The blind leading the blind seems to manifest in different ways, at different times and for different reasons. You actually ignore what Paul writes and continue on with blinders like a donkey pulling a cart. The gospel of salvation is not speaking in tongues.

You believe in a false gospel if you think tongues are the central focus and go so far as to say that unless you speak in tongues you are not saved.
The scripture you quote is from Paul's letter to those of Ephesus. "In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit," Eph. 1:13

What word of truth had Paul previously shared with the Ephesians that they believed and resulted in their being sealed with the Holy Ghost?

"And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. And all the men were about twelve." Acts 19:1-7

Mark 3:28—“Most certainly I tell you, all sins of the descendants of man will be forgiven, including their blasphemies with which they may blaspheme; but whoever may blaspheme against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation.”

I hope you preachers of this doctrine are actually able to speak in tongues yourself by the holy spirit, without faking it or merely presuming you can, so that you can be ready to condemn those otherwise righteous people who believed yet didn't speak in tongues on the day of Judgment.

Otherwise if your teaching is false, you will be condemned on the day of judgment, with all your affliction of God warning you to stop revealed, along with all your secret sins, and you will perish in blazing flames worse than fire, and never see anything good again.

So if you augt to repent, repent while you still can, even if it hurts whatever image you've made for yourself in this world.

1 Timothy 4:1—But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons, through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron, forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

Scripture doesn't contradict Itself because being filled with the Spirit by exemplifying tongues is not the same as having the Gift of Tongues.
I didn't say scripture contradicts itself, but I see you making up categories that I don't see in scripture.

The scriptures shared do confirm that the Holy Ghost is the gift and tongues is proof the giving occurred.
In Acts 19, prophesying also occurred. It is isn't clear that every individual of the 12 spoke in tongues in that passage. Peter quoted Joel about prophesying in Acts 2.

Verily verily I say unto you

You don't want the truth. You want to be agreed with.

Millions of people depend on what Paul wrote concerning the gifts but you are going to shapeshift and discredit it because he sent that letter to the Ephesians.

It's impressive that you try so hard, but it just makes your error(s) more egregious. I think you are running out of make believe.

I see you are another person who puts scripture in a blender and hopes some mix comes out that will make you sound like you know what you are talking about. Scripture does not contradict itself is true but has no application to the op. Tongues mean nothing at all in and of themself.

Where does it say the moment you're saved and Speak in Tongues you automatically have the Gift of Tongues?

When Paul said he wished everyone Spoke in Tongues he also said to pray for the Gift if you don't have it. So it's accessible to all.

With the exception that Scripture shows in Acts those getting Saved Spoke in Tongues the moment the Holy Spirit fell upon them.

God being the SAME yesterday today and forever means how they were Saved in Acts is still happening today.

Wrong. Paul said to pray to prophesy. This does not mean to tell the future either but I'm sure many think it does which goes towards explaining all the false so called prophets springing up like poison mushrooms. Check out the highlighted type in the verse below for what Paul was meaning.

14 Labour for love, and covet spiritual gifts, and most chiefly to prophesy. 2For he who speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not to people, but to God, for no one understands him. However, in the Spirit he speaks mysteries. 3;But he who prophesies speaks to people, for edifying, for exhortation, and for comfort. 4He who speaks in an unknown tongue profits himself; he who prophesies, edifies the congregation.

5I would that you all spoke with tongues, but rather that you prophesied. For greater is he who prophesies than he who speaks with tongues – unless he expounds it also, so that the congregation may have edifying. 6Now brethren, if I come to you speaking with tongues, how do I profit you, unless I speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by instruction?

I was five years old when I accepted Christ. I did not speak in tongues at that time. I was not going to hell because I did not speak in tongues but I was definately 'saved'.

I was also not baptized at that time and I was not going to hell because I was not baptized at that time.

You oneness people are just ridiculous. You have no way of 'proving' that everyone who was saved 2000 years ago spoke in tongues the moment they accepted Christ. Is everything that happened back then in the Bible? Get a grip on reality instead of this fantasy that everything that happens in this century must be a repeat perfomance. That is not reality

It is really concerning that you ignore the fact Paul said not all speak in tongues. It results in false teaching.

He said to seek the Gifts but I will answer when I am free.

Do you actually know how people are saved? Do you think tongues has anything to do with it?

He said to pray to be able to prophesy. I don't think you look for the truth. You appear to look for what you think supports your backwards non-biblical false doctrine.

The Bible is the true way and we have multiple examples.

Actually, Jesus is the way the truth and the life. Maybe focus on Him and you will see that your fixation on tongues does nothing for anyone. Kindly go yap at someone else. My dance card is full.

Tongues is a sign.

For what? That people can imitate a gift? or perhaps have demonic tongues?

Why don't you pray for the gift of healing? People need to be healed.

But like I said, go yap at someone else.
