I've been using the NASB since the early 80's
I like it, I will admit it's difficult to read.
It was recommended by the Academic Dean in the Evangelical College I was attending, I had a KJV Open Bible before that. Bought a NASB Open Bible I still use. It's held together by duct tape.
The Bible app I use has every one of these, plus a lot of others.

The KJV deliberately "mistranslated" many words to perpetuate the religious system, the Church of England. The first edition of the KJV wasn't very popular, so James banned the use of the Geneva Bible. This was one of the main reasons the puritans fled to the "new" world; and they took their Geneva Bibles with them. So yes, knowing the original languages is very important, especially if you use the KJV.

I love the KJV , best of the best translations. So are some other translations ok but once the English of the KJV is appreciated it’s hard to like other translations. The KJV has errors in it as do all others . When you read it eventually some verses just do not fit the major body of scripture. Thats how I found some errors in it . It’s the Holy Spirit that makes the difference . He opens up our understanding if we seek the truth . I have been reading the Bible for over 50 yrs . Truly the living word of God .
Learn to listen to it and your understanding will grow . Don’t try to figure it out so much . Avoid books on the Bible , let the Bible be your bible . Ask God for wisdom and understanding, etc …
Ever catch jn 12:32 the italicized word MEN .?

This is an audio version of the above document I made. I edited it to get a better text to speech outcome, but not thoroughly so there may be a few odd reading here and there.

It does not spell that way in my KJV it says men . Those are not the kind of errors that amount to anything. In James 5 v 4 Lord of the sabaoth it says , another obvious error that amounts to nothing. It should be Sabbath.
A more serious error would be in Matthew 19 v , baptizing them in the name of the Father , and of the Son , and of the Holy Ghost . Yet all of the instances in Acts they were baptized in the Name of Jesus only . Some say that v19 is not in the original text but only a footnote, and added in .

Please cite any mainstream English translations that are heretical.
Pretty much of them. NIV, ESV, CSB, NET, NASB, NLT, etc.
Disagree? Just check my PDFs at www.affectionsabove.com.

Don’t bother with cult versions or your interpretations of any versions; just provide the version, address, and text.
Modern Bibles are heretical for telling you to marry your rapist. The ESV teaches Calvinism several places.
You got Catholic ideas, and new age junk. The list is endless. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

is there an older manuscript

Wow. I’m still going to read the NASB on my Literal Word app along with the KJV plus my actual Bible is the NKJV. I’m not sure what part of the Bible you are referring to but I’d like to look it up if you don’t mind. From what I read is that the modern versions used older manuscripts from the 2nd and 3rd century. Oh I read that you don’t like the NKJV 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m sure sorry about that sir!! lol
Vaticanus and Sinaiticus have never been chemically dated to see if they are actually as old as they claim. Sinaiticus was going to be date tested, but the day it was scheduled, it was oddly stopped.

Even if they are old, we have very good reasons to reject Vaticanus and Sinaiticus. When these two manuscripts are examined closely, it becomes evident that they contain serious textual corruptions. For instance, both Vaticanus and Sinaiticus depict Jesus being pierced by a spear before His death on the cross (See Matthew 27:49-50), a reading that never appears in any English translation. In Hebrews 1:3, Vaticanus omits the crucial phrase “by himself,” erasing the only New Testament reference to Christ personally purging our sins. Next to this verse in Vaticanus is a marginal note that reads, ἀμαθέστατε καὶ κακέ, ἄφες τὸν παλαιόν, μὴ μεταποίει (“Fool and knave, can’t you leave the old reading alone and not alter it!”), revealing that even scribes recognized and objected to the textual corruption in progress. Moreover, Vaticanus and Sinaiticus disagree with each other in roughly three thousand places within the Gospels alone, which is hardly a mark of trustworthy or reliable witnesses.

These manuscripts are far from the best, as many scholars claim. In fact, Vaticanus and Sinaiticus were virtually unknown throughout church history and only gained prominence in 1881 when Westcott and Hort smashed them together to form their Westcott and Hort 1881 Greek text. This Frankenstein monster of a Greek text they created was the textual basis for the release of the Revised Version, headed by Westcott and Hort. The Revised Version was supposed to be a KJV update. It even says on the half title page that it was the version set forth in 1611, but it is not the version set forth in 1611 because it eliminated many readings not found in the KJV, like the Johannine Comma in 1 John 5:7, etc. In other words, they lied. A Critical Text advocate on a Christian forum even admitted to me that this was a deception by Westcott and Hort. To make matters worse, they moved the last sentence in 1 John 5:6 to where the missing Comma was in 1 John 5:7 without any footnote. This is deception. They did not want to alert the new believer about the change, in that they removed the only direct reference to the Trinity within the standard English Bible. So the Westcott and Hort / Nestle and Aland Modern Bible Movement has its origins rooted in various deceptions. On top of that, Westcott and Hort had a Unitarian on their committee named George Vance Smith. They fellowshipped with him at the committee event. Meaning, they all partook of communion or the Lord’s supper together. Later, Unitarian George Vance Smith wrote a book about how theological doctrines were changed in the English Revised Version in his book, Texts and Margins of the Revised New Testament (1881). He mentions how the readings in it favor his Unitarianism. It's in the public domain, so you can check it out.

I also catalogued about 25 Catholic ideas in Modern Bibles. Many of these Catholic ideas have grown over the years since the Revised Version. This is no surprise because even the Catholics switched to the Nestle and Aland and Carlo Maria Martini, who was in line to be a pope, worked on the different Nestle and Aland editions. Note: This is not like Erasmus by any means because Erasmus was not working on behalf of the Vatican as Martini had. It says in the 27th edition of the Nestle and Aland that it was supervised by the Vatican.

Even your precious NASB has Catholic ideas in it. So much darkness in that Bible that you are not even aware of.
Care to know?
Or is ignorance bliss?

The KJV New Testament, on the other hand, was translated from the Textus Receptus tradition, relying chiefly on Theodore Beza’s 1598 edition along with earlier TR editions (which follow the Byzantine Tradition, although certain readings are not an exact match). Because the underlying Greek sources are different, many of the changes in modern versions stem not only from translation choices but also from textual differences.

And yet there are believers who think we can lose/forfeit/walk away from eternal life. KJV, is very adamant about our eternal security.

How can one who reads the KJV and believe in loss/forfeit/walk away from eternal life?

Only those who don't really believe in Christ's finished work.
I would say either you have not been reading the Bible for very long, or you have selectively chosen to fight and reinterpret scores of verses to come to that false idea. Jesus said, "any branch IN ME." Read the whole verse in John 15:2 and put your thinking cap on. Paul also says in 1 Timothy 5:8 that a person can deny the faith by not providing for their own, and they are worse than an infidel (unbeliever). Now, stop and think. An unbeliever cannot be worse than an unbeliever because they are already one. So to claim that 1 Timothy 5:8 would be a reference to false believers just does not work, as I am sure you wish it would. It also does not simply state two groups of people, either. It's an admonishment to any believer.

If the Bible contains errors in it, then there is no real point in trusting what God said.
Unfortunately, most people do not think about this logically, and they just quietly put such thoughts out of their minds to protect themselves. I simply trust God's promises. If God said it, I believe it. Others choose to re-interpret that it is only cardinal doctrines, ideas, the general story, etc., that are preserved and not His precise words. Yet, Jesus cared about jots and tittles. Ah, but let's just ignore what Jesus said, right? He couldn’t possibly be talking about the smallest details of His word being preserved, could He?

It’s impossible to translate word for word , it’s often a series of words by translators , so your Bible may be only as good as its translators , some times the case . I like the KJV the most published book in the history for a reason ! The Holy Spirit uses it more than any book in the world ever !
