Iraqi Sunni Tribal Leader Sheikh Ali Hatem went on the record with a framing that should land hard in every Western foreign-policy circle that has spent forty years assuming the Arab world treats Israel as its primary regional adversary.
His three direct positions, in order:
1. 𝐍𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐦𝐞. Not the Iraqi Sunnis, not the Gulf states, not the Arab world generally. The Khomeinist project is hostile to every Sunni-majority government in the region by design.
2. 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚’𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧. That is an Iraqi tribal leader publicly endorsing the Trump-administration Iran posture against the multi-decade U.S. policy of containment-by-sanctions.
3. 𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐬’ 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 — 𝐈𝐬𝐫𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦. Read what he just did with that sentence. He moved Israel out of the Arab geopolitical adversary category entirely. The Israel question becomes a theological dispute belonging to a different order of analysis. The actual material threat to Arab life and Arab governance is Tehran.
This is the part the Western media will never cover. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐛 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐬𝐫𝐚𝐞𝐥𝐢-𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐱𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬. The Abraham Accords formalized the diplomatic version of it. October 7 accelerated it. The current Trump posture is the operational version of it. Sheikh Ali Hatem just said the quiet part on the record.
Translation for the European foreign ministries still pretending the Israel-Palestine conflict is the central regional axis: 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠. 𝐈𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞.

This is the whole ballgame in the Iran talks: what happens to the roughly 440 kilograms of near-weapons-grade uranium Tehran has stockpiled — enough, enriched a little further, for several bombs. Trump just named his terms.
In a Truth Social post, he said the enriched uranium — what he calls the “𝘕𝘶𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘋𝘶𝘴𝘵” — will either be “𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘺𝘦𝘥”, or destroyed inside Iran (or another agreed site) with international inspectors there to witness it.
Translation: no future enrichment, no quietly keeping the stockpile, no taking Tehran's word for it. The material gets removed or destroyed, verified, on the record.
Iran wants the uranium to stay on Iranian soil. That's the loophole — and it's exactly the one these terms slam shut. A deal that leaves the stockpile in Iran leaves Iran a screwdriver-turn from a bomb. This doesn't.

It simply means that they too are in on the MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING between those involved in these Negotiations that they are in fact a RUSE where BOTH sides are KNOWINGLY pretending to Negotiate in Good Faith - while POSTURING for a BETTER POSITION for when the Negotiations Utterly FAIL and BOTH Sides strive to seek the element of surprise via alternative methods in pursuit of their respective Staunch AGENDAS...
