Simple question. Didn't want to confuse the Bible scholars
So let's hear man speak their gospel or
better yet let's Hear the Gospel of The Anointed keep To the Thread .
What makes a Christian a Christian?
 
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Galatians 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
1 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Matthewc7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

A person is a Christian when they confess Christ and allow the Spirit to lead them.

If a person hates sin, and does not want sin and allows the Spirit to lead them they will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

2 Timothy 3:4 lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2 Timotgy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2 Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Not all people allow the Spirit to lead them for they will not let go of the flesh and love sin more than God and they do not come to the truth.

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Hebrews 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

They say they cannot abstain from sin so they are holding on to sin which the blood of Christ cannot wash their sin away.

We must allow the Spirit to lead us not wanting sin.

If we sin we must repent and not want the sin anymore and allow the Spirit to lead us.

God knows the heart whether we want sin or not.

IMO Christians accept Christ Jesus as Lord (as in Acts 16:31, 2Cor. 4:5 & Col. 2:6) or Love Jesus as Messiah and Lord (John 8:42). The main points of Christian orthodoxy implicit in these statements can be explained or elaborated as follows:

1. There is a/one all-loving and just Lord or God (Deut. 6:4, John 3:16, 2Thes. 1:6), who is both able (2Tim. 1:12) and willing (1Tim. 2:3-4, Ezek. 33:11) to provide all morally accountable human beings salvation or heaven—a wonderful life full of love, joy and peace forever.

2. Human beings are selfish or sinful (Rom. 3:23, 2Tim. 3:2-4, Col. 3:5), miserable (Gal. 5:19-21), and hopeless (Eph. 2:12) or hell-bound at the judgment (Matt. 23:33 & 25:46) when they reject God’s salvation (John 3:18, Rom. 2:5-11).

3. Jesus is God’s Messiah/Christ and incarnate Son, the way that God has chosen (John 3:16, Acts 16:30-31, Phil. 2:9-11) of providing salvation by means of his atoning death on the cross for the payment of the penalty for the sins of humanity (Rom. 3:22-25 & 5:9-11), followed by his resurrection to reign in heaven (1Cor. 15:14-28).

4. Thus, every person who hears the NT Gospel needs to repent and accept God’s justification in Jesus as Christ/Messiah the Lord or Supreme Commander (Luke 2:11, John 14:6, Acts 16:31), which means trying to obey His commandment to love one another (Matt. 22:37-40, John 13:35, Rom. 13:9)—forever (Matt. 10:22, Psa. 113:2).

5. Then God’s Holy Spirit will establish a saving relationship with those who freely accept Him (Rev. 3:20) that will eventually achieve heaven when by means of persevering in learning Truth/God’s Word/sanctification everyone cooperates fully with His will (John 14:6, 17&26, Rom. 8:6-17, Gal. 6:7-9, Eph. 1:13-14, Heb. 10:36, 12:1, Jam. 1:2-4).

Is it not the case that one either obeys or doesn't obey? 'Trying' seems so neutral.

my short answer is this: being transformed to Jesus, thinking, speaking & acting like Jesus. a new regeneration n spirit, soul, mind & conscious. a full dedication to a Jesus life style as much as is within you.

"Trying" acknowledges not always succeeding or loving perfectly as Paul noted in Phil. 3:12 and John implied in 1John 1:8,
which verses I will add to that point of the creed. Good feedback, so thanks!

One can make the argument from the passage that reads, "And the disciples were called Christians first at Antioch" that Christian is a term for disciples of Christ, or followers of Christ. There are many Christians who do not follow Christ and are not disciples. The main goal of one after salvation is to receive discipleship and to become a follower of Christ, but that is not always the case.

Yes, no one achieves moral perfection in this life (Phil. 3:12), but a person who claims to be godly and behaves in an ungodly (unloving, untruthful) manner may be in one of the following categories:

a. a normally loving person observed during a rare moment when he/she acted uncharacteristically (Phil. 3:12-16),
b. an immature Believer, who is making progress–you should have known him/her a year ago! (1Cor. 3:1-3, Eph. 4:11-15)
c. a truthseeker who has not yet learned the correct interpretation of God’s Word (1Cor. 6:9-11, Eph. 5:8-9), or
d. a pseudo-Christian (Matt. 7:21, 1John 2:19), who may affirm morality while rejecting its divine rationale.
e. an apostate or heretic (1John 2:19, Heb. 6:4-6), who once believed but became blasphemous or foolish and ship-wrecked their faith (1Tim. 1:19-20).

The active word for faith, pisteuo. " a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender. "

Nothing else.

That's why there are so few of them.

Ok,so the title is Not absolute. .Like buying a knock off &look inside ,nothing there.
That's another thing that is a Greek term with also
Roman ian .what were they call before Christian, Follower of Jesus.? Or Jesus Lord &Chris.t what about Jesus Lord with The Anointing?

Personal I know him long time
I never say christian or Jesuschrist .I will if I know true believers .Only if I have to I don't use believ ers either but folks here you see I used that cus I just Don't Know knower is ok ,Friend of Jesus Then up above Disciple is a great separation title.
