God did not deem it necessary is the obvious answer. Surely the Bible is heavy enough as it is?
God didn't even give the year. He just tells us how old the father was at the time of the birth. For example:
(Gen 5:15) When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he fathered Jared.
For what purpose do you suggest God should have included months and days? I am not sure what your point is, sorry.

Ive always thought God gave us what we need to know. I wonder how many volumes of scripture it would take to tell us every detail? I wonder about a lot of things too.
I can tell you this mystery but the story does not end here in Genesis 5.
The day Methuselah died, Noah turned 600 on the same day.
All those in the generational line were born and died the same day

The only problem with this is that there are three known version of Genesis (actually the entire Torah), and they differ in the details of the genealogies. The exact number of years between major events always remains the same but names change, additional generations appear and life spans/age at the birth of a son, change.

He gave to us what He wanted us to know. He gave us the age of deaths. Some lived for almost a millennia. He gave us the royal lineage line of Jesus.

FYI: In the Turkish language, one word for “man” is Adam (phonetic: short a in
a-dom).
God is not giving us a modern birth certificate or death record. He is giving us a theological genealogy — a structured testimony about life, death, inheritance, and the spread of Adam’s fallen condition.
Genesis 5 repeats a pattern:
he lived…
he fathered…
he lived after…
he had sons and daughters…
all his days were…
and he died.
God gives the years because the years show the span of life, the order of generations, and the continuity of the human line from Adam to Noah. And then Enoch breaks the pattern. Everyone else is said to die, but Enoch “walked with God, and he was not, for God took him” (Genesis 5:24). Death reigns through Adam’s line, but Enoch shows that walking with God points beyond death.
The Lord siad to Adam...if you eat of the tree in that day you will surly die.
