"Then the angel said to her, 'Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.' " Luke 1:30-33

Thank you RA,
Notice that
1) Jesus is the Son of the Highest
2) And Jesus will be given the throne of His father David, from his mother's side. Because Mary's son is the Davidic King.
3) And Jesus will reign over Israel forever via the salvation of souls to eternal life.
4) However, after Jesus passes from mortality to eternal life, then Mary's next son takes the Davidic Throne to reign temporally here upon the earth. Because Israel is still in mortality, and likewise her Davidic King. Not the eternal King, Jesus, but the temporal King, John.
5) Jesus is the King of Kings, and John is the current Davidic King.

Why is this so hard for you guys to see?
Oh, the Mormon booge man. What, you're afraid of Smith?

You're just making stuff up; none of it rings true. I don't care who it comes from, it's nonsense.

PT,
Interesting. So if the Mormons believe something, then it must be wrong.

However, John was identified by the Savior to be the next Davidic King. Because the eldest son of Mary is the Davidic King. And when Jesus dies, then the next in line is John. Jesus stated as such. Do the Mormons believe that? And if they do, then are you saying it is wrong based upon that finding?

Like, if the Mormons believe that a milk jug contains milk, then it must be wrong. You are making me laugh.

And the claim that no righteous men were upon the earth at the time of Smith is clearly false. So we agree on that.

So I do not see the contradiction. In the first case, John as the Davidic King during our time is true, and in the second case, there were righteous men during the time of Smith, making the claim of no righteous men false.

However, I do not think the Mormons believe John to be the Davidic King. They are not that astute, but follow thieves as their leaders.
How old do you think John was when he began to follow Jesus? Why would Jesus’ younger brothers not be eligible to inherit the throne ahead of John? If Jesus is not dead and is with us always, why would the throne pass to someone other than Jesus?

PT,

That certainly wasn’t my argument. When and how did this revelation about King John come upon you, if it was not through Mormon doctrine? Why is there any need to have someone on the throne of David other than Jesus?

Where are we told in Scripture that John was a king? If he became a king because Jesus said from the cross, "Behold your mother," and Mary was descended from David, then do you believe that Mary's father and grandfather were kings too? And what about Jesus's natural half-brothers:

(Mat 13:55 NKJV) Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?

With John, it is strange, if he were really a king, that none of his fellow apostles made the slightest mention of it. That is why "this guy" finds it impossible to see - because I don't find it in Scripture. Nothing to do with being afraid of Joseph Smith or the Mormons.

If the Mormons believe the Book of Mormon, it is probably wrong.

The most interesting part of your OP is John 21:24, which indicates that someone later than John published the gospel,
prompting the question, "Who is we"?
Also, "Did we publish John before or after I & me in Rev. 22:8-9"?

Following this rabbit trail. Apparently there are mormons who aren't mormons. In other words, they believe Joseph Smith's writings, but don't align with the mormon church. So a denomination of mormonism

There must be hundreds of breakaway denominations of the Mormon church. But I doubt they have found the transfer of the Davidic Kingship from Christ to John as I have found. Their king is whoever sits at the top of their multi-level marketing scheme for making money.

Since Jesus was the Davidic King, then any man in his ancestral line back to King David would have been heir to the Davidic Throne.

Jesus designated John specifically as the Son of Mary, making John the next Davidic King.

I found this a few years ago. And it does not come from the Mormon church, but my own research.

I do not understand the resistance to learning these things. There is a line of Davidic Kings from David to Jesus. These kings have at their disposal the Davidic Covenant, which is fashoned after the Eternal Covenant of Jesus Christ. Where a king can sacrifice for his people for their protection. Jesus sacrificed himself for his people's eternal lives. Likewise, Davidic Kings can sacrifice for their people's temporal lives. This is the central focus of Isaiah; in the chiasmus center of that book.

I'm sure that the apostles knew that John was Jesus successor.

That certainly wasn’t my argument. When and how did this revelation about King John come upon you, if it was not through Mormon doctrine? Why is there any need to have someone on the throne of David other than Jesus?

That my research comes from the Mormons is a silly and false argument. I am a Book of Revelation researcher. It is what I enjoy doing.

The people of Israel wanted a king. The first king was Saul from the house of Benjamin. But David was the first king from Judah. Consequently, the kingship was given David's name. Israel still has a king from the line of David, and that king today is John. This is a temporal kingship not lasting into the eternities as does Jesus' eternal Kingship. The Davidic King position is for mortality only. Jesus was a Davidic King, but is now the Eternal King. And the Davidic King today is John.

But what you are saying is that Israel does not have a Davidc King. That there is no downline from David on the earth today. That is an empty argument because we know that Jews live upon the earth today, and someone in that family has descended from David. It is simply natural that Jews today have the genetics of King David in them. And someone in that genetic downline has the right of succession.

For example, look at the Britts who have Charles. It is simply a matter of succession.

But what you are saying is that Israel does not have a Davidc King. That there is no downline from David on the earth today

Of course it has a king, but the throne has been temporarily re-located to heaven from where he reigns over his assembly while he builds the temple of God. There he remains until his enemies in heaven and earth are made his footstool.

First...
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 12:7-9

Then...
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. Revelation 11:15

But all this that you have suggested not only is not in the Bible, it also presupposes that Jesus Christ has given up His kingship, albeit temporarily. Yet 3 times in Revelation, John refers to Jesus as "king" and "King of kings."

The title of Davidic King passes to the next king in Israel.
Remember that the Jews have been looking for their messiah to save them from their enemies. They fell to Babylon, then Persia presided over them, then Greece, and Rome, and number five is the various powers, both strong and weak states. Curently is the sixth kingdom presiding over Israel, the United States. This is Rev. 17:10. There are two to go, numbers seven and eight.

So they have been looking for their Davidic King for a very long time. Nevertheless, they have rejected the true King of Israel Jesus Christ.

So, when the eighth presiding power reigns over Israel (Rev. 17:11), the Savior sends his servant John, the one and only Davidic King upon the earth during our day, to preside over Israel. This Davidic King presides over the 144,000 kings of the earth. And they serve the Savior during the seven years of tribulation and judgment. I apologise if this is Mormon doctrine. NOT! The Mormons could only wish to know this level of detail.

And so Davidic Kings are a dime a dozen. But a Davidic King who sacrifices himself for his people is rare. These rare and righteous Davidic Kings can call upon the Lord for protection. And such is the case for the 144,000. Their King John will call upon the Savior for the protection of his people, Israel, of whom 144,000 are sealed to serve.

That is, the Davidic King over the 144,000 is John, the servant of the eternal King Jesus Christ. So before the Savior's return, his servants have prepared the people. Then comes the Post-Trib Rapture! It's not brain surgery to understand these things.

It does, though, sound like the effects of brain surgery, ie, a lobotomy

So, a king rulesover subjects. His subjects know he is their king. Who on the planet, apart from you, thinks they are serving king John? What is the point of enthroning a king that no one but you knows is king?

Many refuse to accept the Savior's Moses (Rev. 15:3).

And, over the years, some have claimed to be the Savior's Moses.

But the Revelation clearly shows that John was called, and he accepted this call (Rev. 10:8-11).

He was appointed by Jesus to be his successor (John 19:26-27) and is on the earth today (John 21:20-24).

For all who can see this, you belong to the Davidic King John; the great Apostle of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For all others, you do not.

John's people will be taken in two groups, the first is an exodus (Rev. 12:6), the second is the harvest proper (Rev. 12:7-13). This harvest includes all saints who have remained loyal to the Savior.

Lastly is a harvest to gather anyone who accepts the teachings of the 144,000 (Rev. 12:14). This is the 3.5-year judgment wherein those who followed the beast, the false prophet, and Wormwood are excluded from being gathered (Rev. 16:2-7).

PT,
That is the best response ever.
The 144,000 know about John. And, many of the saints know about John. The point is, however, that John is the last-days Davidic King. And he has responsibility over those who know this information. Because they are his.

I do not think they are currently serving John. But when the tribulation begins, then they have a role to play under his leadership.
This information is in the Book of Revelation.

The title of Davidic King passes to the next king in Israel.
Yes, but that only happens when the previous king is dead. Charles III only became king when his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died. Jesus rose from the dead after three days. And remember, when Jesus was on earth, there hadn't been a king from the line of David for a long time. The Herods mentioned in the New Testament were of Edomite descent, and were appointed as puppet kings by the Roman Empire. Added to that is the fact that Jesus Himself states clearly:

(Joh 18:36 NKJV) Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here."

Remember that the Jews have been looking for their messiah to save them from their enemies. I say again, I have not mentioned the Mormons, so I am unsure why you brought them up in replying to me. Where do you find in the Bible any idea of a Davidic king presiding over 144,000 kings of the earth? The only place I can find the number 144,000 in the Bible is in this passage:

(Rev 14:1 NKJV) Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father's name written on their foreheads.
(Rev 14:2) And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps.
(Rev 14:3) They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth.

No mention of them being kings of the earth.

You say it's not brain surgery to understand these things. OK, so show me simply, by quoting Scripture, that these ideas of yours must be true. Where does the Bible make any mention of John calling upon the Saviour for the protection of his people? Where does the Bible say that the 144,000 are Israelites saved to serve?
