So you must be in opposition to what Paul wrote below.
Romans 10:9-13
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and
believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead,
you will be saved; for with the heart a person
believes, resulting in righteousness, and with
the mouth he confesses,
resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever
believes in Him will not be disappointed.” For there is no distinction
between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for
“
Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Some how you have inserted your own works (obedience) into that free gift of salvation.
Which means if you persist at some unknown level of obedience you will be saved?
Your salvation equation is shown below.
Jesus plus my obedience = salvation?
Not sure how you were taught a corrupted version of the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
You may be a Catholic that is whipping yourself with a branch to stop yourself sinning.
If you doing that keep going because you may, in fact, end up becoming perfect!
Matthew 5:48
Therefore you are to be
perfect, as your heavenly Father is
perfect.
See Jesus said that.
Problem is Jesus was not talking about your perfection but His perfect righteousness which you receive as a gift.
Romans 5:17
"For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive
God’s abundant provision of
grace and of
the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!"
2 Corinthians 9:15
Thanks be to God
for His indescribable gift!
